Injuries

Moving out of the way Xilo watched as a body fell to the ground with a loud thud. Turning to the door Yulrin came stumbling in with another injured person with her. "Rana?" A few people stood behind them in silence as Xilo tried to process everything. Lexia came running over the second she heard the noises from outside. Seeing a familiar figure on the floor Lexia called the girls over before getting ready for a potential fight. If Vandor was hurt then there was no telling what was about to happen. "They've returned." She saw some more faces she recognized as she took a step outside and scanned the area for anyone.

"Were you being chased by anyone Yulrin?"

"No, we managed to lose them but Rana and Vandor...."

Yulrin held her voice steady as she carried them inside. Tearia came running around the corner as she took out a pouch of medicine she had. Dropping to her knees she checked Vandor's heartbeat and pulse. "Still breathing." Once she made sure of that she popped something into his mouth as she swapped to Rana who was bleeding profusely. Taking him away from Yulrin she laid him on a towel she put on the ground. "His back was completely ripped open." A giant scar ran along his back and his arms were broken clean. "Well that's good at least." Cleaning up the blood she wanted his body to be free of any potential infection before doing anything else.

"What happened Yulrin, why are Vandor and Rana so injured?"

Keeping himself calm Xilo leaned forward as he stared Yulrin directly in the eyes. She was the only one who wasn't badly injured from the group he had sent out while lexia talked with the others. Before he could get an answer from Yulrin he heard a groan from behind him. Vandor sat himself up as best he could in his current condition. "Oi, you idiot." Grabbing his body he tried to lay him back down only to be pushed away. Vandor didn't want any help, especially right now after such a huge failure on his own part. Since he had thought they had made it safely he had let his guard down resulting in this.

``We were ambushed when we least expected it. Me and Rana were leading the group when we were caught by over fourty soldiers at once along with someone else who I recognized. He's a minister that works alongside Landel in the Castle, a pretty tough dude. I thought we were going to escape without a problem but it looks like that bastard betrayed us. He led us straight to a trap without us expecting anything. Without everyone here helping out me and Rana might have died right there and then."

Xilo looked behind to see the people Lexia was talking about.

"I assume you mean the people you saved?"

"Yeah, they stepped in and took care of the soldiers for us. It let us focus on the minister without worry. It wasn't an easy fight by any means but we managed to beat him and scare off the soldiers. Almost killed us all in the process though, a tough bastard that one. We made it back almost in one piece however Rana needs a lot of help.....as you can see his spine was almost ripped out entirely."

Looking away from Rana it was way too painful of a memory. "I should have done more." He could still hear the screams Rana made as the minister held him up in the air. He taunted them as he broke open his back entirely and started to tug at his bones like he was some kind of doll. That man didn't treat them like they were human, only toys that he could do whatever he wanted with. "I froze." In truth if Yulrin wasn't there then Rana might have actually died. He had completely froze up paralyzed by what he should do to the point where he didn't do anything. Yulrin was the real saviour that had stepped in when he couldn't and he felt like a failure for it.

"Don't worry about it Vandor, Tearia will take care of him and you're with us now so you'll be fine. Just take it easy man, you're not doing so well yourself either."

"Xilo, can you help me carry these two, we need to get them on actual beds. The floor isn't the best place for this."

Lifting up Rana, Tearia waited for Xilo to help along with Felli and Xelfia. Picking the two of them up they went to a free room nearby and gently put the two of them down on a bed. Feeling Rana's arm, Tearia knew that she was going to have to put it back in place before she tried anything else. Otherwise it might heal very wrong and cripple him. "No one needs to live like that." It was already enough that she was crippled, she didn't want to see another person end up like her. Connecting his bones she put them back in place as she checked on his back. Once everything was good she started to wrap some bandishes tightly around his joints.

"This should help his bones fuse back together if we're lucky. If not there is a small chance he might be like this forever."

"That's fine as long as he's alive, that's what matters."

Grabbing something else from her pouch she lathered some cream onto his arm that caused it to go numb. It was a pretty painful process and she didn't want him to endure that. Once that was done, she gave him a pill that would soften up his body before going to work. This wasn't a typical pill that she would just have at the ready so she needed to make it from scratch. "Hopefully he doesn't wake up before I'm done." She only had so long until she woke up so she was on short time. Feeling her nerves rising she took a deep breath as she got to work while Lexia talked to everyone else in the dining room.

"So...you all got sent to prison by Landel. Why for someone like me, is it really worth it. I'm not even a queen anymore."

Enjoy.
