CHAPTER 118 – THE WINNER

In the previous chapter we see how Ash's battle against Nancy begins, but both know each other so well that in the end they end up tying in 3 battle in a row, the current scoreboard is 3 to 3, both tied, stay to see the conclusion of the Indigo League.

"AMAZING LADIES AND GENTLEMEN THERE HAS BEEN A TIE BETWEEN THE TWO POKÉMON AGAIN! IS THE BATTLE REALLY SO EVEN?! IN ALL MY YEARS OF PROFESSION ONLY ONCE THERE WERE TWO TRAINERS WHO TIED WITH TWO OF THEIR POKÉMON, BUT I NEVER SAW THIS!"

"But I won't give up, Mew/Victini I choose you!" – we both said at the same time.

"AWESOME, THE NEXT BATTLE WILL BE OF THE MYTHICAL POKÉMON VICTINI AGAINST THE RARE MYTHICAL POKÉMON MEW, THIS WILL BE EPIC, THOSE WHO ARE PRESENT DO NOT MISS IT AND THOSE WHO ARE AT HOME I RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT MOVE FROM WHERE YOU ARE!"

"Let's start, Victini use V-Create!"

Victini's forehead lit up with a red glow and powerful warmth came out of him.

"Your best attack from the beginning? then I won't hold back, Mew use Giga Impact!"

Mew wrapped himself in a white light and shot at full speed towards Victini.

Both attacks impacted and sent both Pokémon flying, this is one of the few attacks that can not collide because they are intangible so both attacks hit their rival leaving them almost completely weakened.

"This battle ends here, Victini use Shadow Ball!"

"Mew let's get this done, use Shadow Ball you too!"

But it was a mistake because the explosion that both attacks caused when colliding weakened both Pokémon.

"IT SEEMS THAT WE HAVE ANOTHER TIE LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, BOTH POKÉMON WERE SO TIRED THAT EVEN A SLIGHT EXPLOSION WEAKEN THEM LEAVING THE SCOREBOARD NOW 4 TO 4 LEAVING BOTH PARTICIPANTS WITH TWO POKÉMON EACH!"

"I'm not surprised by anything Ash anymore, so I won't say anything more, instead of this I'll battle and beat you, Shaymin I choose you!" – Nancy said after thanking her Pokémon.

After thanking Mew I also took out my next Pokéball.

"Latias I choose you!"

And Latias went out into the battlefield ready to do her best.

"THE NEXT POKÉMON THAT COME OUT TO BATTLE ARE THE MYTHICAL POEMON SHAYMIN THAT HAS ALREADY DEMONSTRATED ITS GREAT STRENGTH AND THE LEGENDARY POKÉMON LATIAS THAT TURNED OUT TO BE EXTREMELY POWERFUL!"

"Ash I don't plan to drag out this fight any longer than necessary, we will use all our power from the beginning, Shaymin use Seed Flare!"

"I didn't expect anything else, Latias use Dragon Pulse!"

Both attacks collided, but exploded after a few seconds, the good thing is that Latias was not acted by the blow, the bad thing is that Shaymin either.

Both Pokémon approached and when they were at a distance they released their attacks causing a huge explosion causing both Pokémon to fall to the ground weakened.

"AND AGAIN WE HAVE A TIE, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN TO BE HONEST I DON'T KNOW WHO WILL BE THE WINNER OF THIS INDIGO LEAGUE, EVERYTHING IS VERY TIED AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHO CAN WIN!"

"You've done great Latias, I promise I'll never do the same again" – I said returning Latias to his Pokéball.

"I won't either, rest Shaymin" – Nancy also said.

Then we both looked at each other, we knew it, we knew that the final battle was coming, the battle where everything would be decided and we both knew the Pokémon that would help us.

"Pikachu I'm counting on you my dear friend" – I said with a smile.

"Pika pi!" – Pikachu nodded as he stepped out onto the battlefield.

"Serperior I'm counting on you!" - said Nancy.

And Serperior went out into the battlefield.

"LAST BATTLE, WITH THIS BATTLE EVERYTHING WILL BE DECIDED, THE WINNER WILL BE PROCLAIMED AS THE WINNER OF THE INDIGO LEAGUE WHILE THE LOSER WILL BE THE RUNNER-UP!"

"Let's get started, Serperior use Leaf Blade!"

"Pikachu use Iron Tail!"

"Pikachu" – Pikachu nodded.

And both Pokémon collided their attacks several times without success.

"Let's try something different, Pikachu retreat and use Thunderbolt!"

Pikachu broke away and used his powerful Thunderbolt against Serperior.

"Serperior use Giga Drain!"

Both attacks hit their respective rivals causing damage.

"We won't give up, Pikachu use Iron Tail again!"

"We won't give up either, Serperior use Leaf Blade!"

Both attacks collided again and again, but no one seemed to want to give in until I suddenly felt something, a very strange feeling.

Change of perspective to 3rd Person.

Both Pokémon were tied in power, at this rate the winner would only be decided if the enemy Pokémon got tired and could even be drawn, Pikachu's Iron Tail and Serperior's Leaf Blade collided again and again, neither seemed weaker than the other and neither seemed to want to give in but suddenly something very strange happened, Pikachu departed from Serperior without receiving Ash's order.

After positioning himself in front of Ash, Pikachu closed his eyes and Ash did exactly the same, both remaining completely motionless.

"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN SOMETHING STRANGE IS HAPPENING BOTH PARTICIPANT ASH AND HIS POKÉMON PIKACHU, THEY HAVE CLOSED THEIR EYES AND HAVE REMAINED COMPLETELY MOTIONLESS! WHAT'S GOING ON?!"

"What's going on?" – Nancy asked in surprise.

Although no one could see him, Ash and Pikachu were in a kind of trance, their auras were connecting with each other deepening not only their friendship but a tacit understanding of each other.

The entire stadium fell silent until a few seconds a slight current of wind lifted and caused Ash's cap to detach from his head, but it did not fly off as it should have but instead positioned itself on Pikachu's head.

The moment the cap brushed against his skin, both of them opened their eyes, and sparks began to come out of Pikachu.

"What happened to you Ash?" - asked Nancy confused.

"I don't know, but if there's one thing I know, I'm now closer to Pikachu than ever and it's time to end this battle" - Ash said.

He then raised his arm and extended his index finger and without uttering a single word, Pikachu wrapped himself in a white light and lunged at Serperior hitting him with his attack.

"Quick Attack! But how?! he didn't even say anything!" – exclaimed Nancy in surprise.

Ash did the same again, but now he raised his other arm and then Pikachu's tail lit up a silver color and shot towards Serperior.

"I don't know what's going on, but I won't let myself win, Serperior use Leaf Blade!"

Both attacks collided, but...

With Ash again.

I don't know what happened to us but suddenly I felt that I didn't have to say anything to Pikachu because he would understand my intentions without even saying anything, it's as if our bodies had synchronized, we didn't need words to express ourselves, so I just used my arm and finger to give him the order, Why? Because for some reason I knew it was going to work.

Pikachu immediately lunged towards Serperior and impacted his attack on Serperior's Leaf Blade, but unlike before it wasn't long before Pikachu gained the advantage and sent Serperior flying.

"Serperior!" - said Nancy.

"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN FOR SOME REASON THE PIKACHU OF PARTICIPANT ASH HAS ACHIEVED AN ADVANTAGE THAT HE DID NOT POSSESS BEFORE, I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED, BUT STAY TUNED THE CLIMAX IS COMING!"

As if he understood my intentions, Pikachu launched a powerful Thunderbolt towards Serperior.

"Serperior use Leaf Blade!"

Damn, this must be a joke.

"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN SERPERIOR JUST ACTIVATED HER ABILITY, OVERGROW!"

With her ability activated, her attack was boosted and dhe began to gain some ground.

"Come on Serperior!" - encouraged Nancy.

But instead of getting nervous, I just smiled.

"Sorry Nancy, but this is the end of this battle, Pikachu show them what we are capable of, use THUNDERBOLT AT FULL POWER!" – I shouted.

"PIKACHUUUU!" – shouted Pikachu.

And suddenly, his Thunderbolt doubled in size and directly hit Serperior who couldn't hold the intensity of Pikachu's attack and was hit by him.

"Serperior!" - shouted Nancy.

But Serperior fell to the ground completely weakened...

"AMAZING LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, PARTICIPANT ASH'S PIKACHU TOOK OUT FORCES AND INCREASED THE SIZE OF HIS ATTACK WEAKENING HIS RIVAL, THEREFORE, I AM PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE TO YOU THAT THE WINNER OF THIS YEAR'S INDIGO LEAGUE IS ASH KETCHUM-HALE FROM PALLET TOWN, A LOUD APPLAUSE FOR HIM!"

At that moment a lot of applause and ovations flooded the place as if it were a tidal wave, finally the Indigo League was over, finally it ended and I was the winner.

"Well, in the end I lost" - Nancy sighed somewhat sadly.

"But you did great and you're runner-up" – I said offering my hand.

"Pika pi" – Pikachu nodded.

Nancy smiled at me and returned the greeting, this was not a partner's greeting, but a sign of respect between two trainers who gave their best to win the battle.

I will tell you a little quickly what happened next, after my victory the awards ceremony did not take place immediately, but the battle took place to see who was in third, fourth place ....

I will summarize who won, I was in first position, Nancy in second position, Gary in third place, then Verity in fourth place, Wendy in fifth place, Leaf in sixth place, Emma in seventh place, Toby in eighth place, Cindy in ninth place and Fran in tenth place, poor Jake and Erik were in 11th and 12th place respectively and there you have the most outstanding trainers of the Indigo League.

"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, THE TIME HAS COME FOR THE AWARDS CEREMONY TO BE HELD BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE INDIGO LEAGUE OF BOTH KANTO AND JOHTO, PRESIDENT TOBIAS!"

People applauded.

Then President Tobias picked up a microphone and began to speak.

"First of all thank you all for your presence here and also the people in their homes who could not come to see the Indigo League in person!" – Tobias began.

More applause.

"And now I would like to hand out the awards to the most outstanding coaches of the Indigo League, first I will hand out the third prize that will be awarded to... Gary Oak from Pallet Town, loud applause for him!" – said Tobias.

Loud applause echoed throughout the stadium as the president grabbed a bronze cup and handed it to Gary.

Then I gave the microphone to the president.

"You have already heard, excellent words from a trainer who wants to improve before challenging the Elite Four, a loud applause for his humility and honesty!" – said the president.

And another loud applause echoed in the place.
