By the next day.
Right now, it's probably around 3 a.m. Nonetheless, he has decided to get up early in the morning to continue his expedition. His strength and stamina have returned to normal, and he can move his limbs without experiencing mild pains in his tendons.
"The scratches are gone; it appears Alexa went back to my room while I was sleeping to heal them."
He remembered he had something to give her after mentioning her name. So he went to the bathroom to wash his face before going to the kitchen.
Alexa was already preparing their breakfast, as well as the food and water Kai required for his expedition, just as she had done the day before. Of course, he was embarrassed since Alexa wouldn't have to do those things.
He was allowing him to stay in her home, prepare food, and even clean the entire place. Even though he wasn't making the house dirty, he couldn't help but be embarrassed.
"Good morning, Alexa? Are you there?" he inquired, hearing the fire crackling and smelling the frying onions and garlic.
"Good morning, Kai! Just a second, I'm about to finish here," she replied, continuing her stuff.
Meanwhile, they were both eating breakfast and casually discussing what had happened with their jobs. Alexa spoke first, stating that numerous adventurers were injured the day before. According to the information given to her by the injured adventurers, the unknown monsters attacked all of them on the sixth floor.
Of course, Kai was taken aback when she heard her story. Why? It was because he didn't see any other adventurers besides the Union Guild and 20 adventurers entering on the 7th floor, so why does Alexa say there were 40 adventurers injured yesterday? Furthermore, he was certain that he had passed through the 6th floor before proceeding to the 7th floor.
If they had been at the party raid, it was unbelievable that they had been injured by the Goblins that he had killed without difficulty.
"Based on their wounds, it appeared that they were attacked by the monster with sharp teeth; additionally, they are investigating the possibility of a monster escaping on the upper floor and going to the lower floor."
The adventurer named the area on the fifth floor "Safe Zone" because the monsters there can't step on it for some reason. Furthermore, starting on the 6th and 12th floors, monsters were free to roam around, which is why monsters on the upper floor would occasionally migrate to the lower floor. As a result, more adventurers perished each time this occurred since their abilities were insufficient to deal with a single monster from the upper floor.
If that's the case, Kai was still fortunate in that he avoided the monster that nearly killed the 40 adventurers from various parties.
"That's bad to hear, Alexa, and it appears to be the main reason you wake up this early," Kai said, looking into Alexa's eyes and discovering that she was still exhausted and hadn't gotten enough sleep. "However, what are the other guilds' reactions to this incident? I know they'll be looking for it to see if there's any foul play."
Alexa was staring at Kai with a straight face, thinking she was speaking to a different man as he knew so much. Nonetheless, she pretended she didn't notice since it was too early.
"Yeah, different guilds that had injured members checked the area, but they found nothing besides the story that came from injured adventurers." Alexa stood up, knowing she needed to get back to the infirmary as soon as possible. "If I were you, I'd just stay in the house for the time being while the higher-ups investigate what's going on," she advised.
He understood Alexa's concern for him, but he can't afford to stay in this house since he's already accepted the job offered to him by Azamone. "Thank you for your concern, Alexa, but I have something to do today," he said as he tossed the brown bag at her. "That's 5,000 gold coins; I hope it's enough to cover your rent and food, but if not, I promise I'll give you another 5,000 gold coins later."
Alexa's eyes widened in surprise as she opened her mouth wide, unable to believe Kai could earn so much money in such a short period of time. "What did you do? How did you get so many coins?"
To be honest, a particular party raid could earn 10,000 gold coins in a specific expedition, where their earnings would be divided based on the size of their party. In Kai's case, however, he nearly occupied the numbers that could kill an ordinary party, which is why he earned so many yesterday. Aside from that, he was on a solo expedition, which means he can earn money on his own.
"Hey! Why are you looking at me like that, huh?! I didn't steal it." Kai said, bothered by the woman's expression.
"Do you know what you can buy with this? It can buy a new house! Also, the rent in this house isn't as high as you think! It's 770 bronze coins that almost around 8 gold coins. I can't accept this." Alexa was refusing to accept this big amount of coins.
"Oh... I don't even know that had its high value." Kai took the small brown pouch out of his black hoodie. "I have more than 2,000 gold coins here. That's just the start for me paying for your kindness, so accept it and do whatever you want you like." He smiled at the woman who was going to collapse after seeing another 2,000 gold coins.
Kai took out his bag and spear, planning to enter the Nocturnal tower much earlier than yesterday. "Anyway, I'll take my leave, Alexa. And please, don't exhaust yourself too much, okay? Sometimes you should take a rest." While opening the door, Kai remembered something important. "Oh, if you have extra time, please help me to find a good sword. I have not familiar with the place, so I think it would be better if you come with me. Have a nice day!"
Ding!
He left the house while hearing the dinging tone inside his head.

[Inventory]- by saying the word 'inventory' a new interface would appear and show the function where you could store your items.
'Inventory!'
Another screen appeared in front of him, showing multiple blue boxes that can hide all of his items. The good thing here is it doesn't have a capacity limit or any restrictions on what kind of item he can put inside.
Of course, he immediately tried it by placing his spear inside the inventory and in the bag, he was carrying. "This is so cool, I feel more comfortable right now."

Soon, he arrived at the Nocturnal tower and saw the guards standing again in the same posts. When they noticed him, they waved their hands as they did not forget the words said by this man to them.
"Good morning, Adventurer Kai. You are much early than yesterday." Guard asked him politely.
First thing first, he gave those guards 100 gold coins each, appreciation for helping him to bring in the infirmary and for the further information.
Is this true, adventurer Kai? These coins are for us?
Yeah, it's too much. Through this, we can buy plenty of food for our family.
"Yeah, all of those coins are yours. I can add that if you give me useful information." Kai asked them while having a grin on his face.
Just say it, adventurer Kai! As long as it is not the adventurer's information.
"Don't worry about it, I'm not going for that. I'm asking here, where I can adventurer that could help me to pick up the cores for me." Since he was having a hard time getting the cores, it would be better if he asked someone to do that for him.
Based on the guard's expression, it seemed he already knew what Kai was trying to say. "Do you mean a supporter? Look at there." Guard pointed his index finger at the corner where was the little girl sitting, waiting for the other adventurers to take him on their expedition. "That little girl is a supporter, it can help you to take the cores and drop items. But as you can see, she's too young, that is why none of the adventurers would like to bring her."
"Supporter, huh..."
