Amelia Ward

A little girl probably 11 years old had short brown hair, yellow eyes, 144 cm in height, carrying a large bag, and wearing a worn-out brown robe approached him.

"Mister, I heard you are looking for a supporter. I'm free, you can pick me." A little girl approached him politely, showing her knife and how she was going to seize the monster's core. "Look at me, mister! I can do this job very well."

Of course, he was surprised, wondering how the little girl who had a skinny body willing to partake in his expedition on the 6th-floor. At the same time, he wasn't that strong to save someone if they facing hard circumstances, that's why he would like to choose someone who could fight or be able to defend themselves from the monster.

At this point, Kai decided to get another 200 gold coins out of his pocket, thinking this little girl had something to spend that's why she wanted to gamble her life inside the Nocturnal tower.

Not like the adventurer that needed to have the silver template to allow entering the dungeon. But the Supporter's case was different since they didn't need that template before to allow enter the tower. To be exact, a certain supporter mostly watches the adventurers' battle from afar in order to secure themselves from the unexpected monsters. They were just going to the battlefield after all the monsters were annihilated.

"Here's the money, little girl. Take it, and yourself some food, okay?" He gently patted her sticky hair, giving his sympathy to her since at a young she have to do dangerous work just to survive.

The little girl accepted the coins, thinking money is money it still had a huge value in this world. However, her mind didn't change as she was willing to come with him on his expedition.

"Thanks for these coins, mister, I can now feed my sibling with this. But I know, all of this is temporary since it's rare to see a guy as good as you. Also, I don't want to be pitied, I don't want to rely on someone to feed us. That's why I'm here working, doing everything that could help me to earn money." She explained in a miserable tone, but her expression that she was going to enter the tower no matter what.

Despite her age, she already knew how the world works, just a stupid person would say that money couldn't buy happiness. Apart from that, she was aware that all creatures here will help someone like her.

Honestly, Kai felt amazed after hearing her words. But the problem here was, that he was alone. He can't guarantee her life.

Kai deeply sighed, remembering Alexa's face and all the kindness she had done to him even though they were not related in blood. "Fine, little girl. I will give you 200 gold coins per week, so that, you will stop entering the tower."

Well, he hadn't had something to spend. Also, the 200 gold coins were just a small amount of his earnings, so he didn't mind giving them to her.

Suddenly, the little girl shook her head, refusing the help bestowed by this man. "Mister, I can't do that. Also, I already explained my reason to you. But please, let me come with you."

'This little girl is too persistent, what is the main reason why she's going this far.' Kai uttered to his mind, thinking of an idea of how he can stop the little girl from pursuing. "I don't know the reason why you want to come to the tower. But, I'm just having a solo expedition which means my raid is harder than the others' raid. Lastly, there's a possibility I can't save you if something unexpected came up."

After hearing this, the little girl still had the same expression on her face. "I don't care if you are having a solo expedition or you can't save me. If I died inside the tower, that's not your fault, it's my decision." She responded in a serious tone, looking at Kai directly in his eyes.

Kai looked around, noticing that he was consuming most of his time outside of the Nocturnal tower. "Fine, you'll come with me. But I have two rules, first, you should stay at my behind. Second, show me your worth." He said in a deep tone, then took a glance at the two guards. "There's a problem if I bring her on my expedition?"

The guards immediately nodded their heads at him, already thinking about how they were going to spend the money he gave to them. "There's no problem about that, Adventurer Kai. As long as both parties agreed with the conditions."

Kai backed his gaze at the little girl who was still surprised that someone finally brought her on the expedition. "Do you have any complaints? If you do not have, let's keep going we are spending so much time here."

She nodded her head at him as she didn't have any complaints. "Yes, I'm going to show my worth to you until you feel satisfied with my work."

As soon as she those words, the little girl followed him to the Nocturnal Tower's entrance. When they entered the girl started to introduce herself. "I'm Amelia Ward, the supporter. I'm living in the bottom-tier part of Deranium City."

"I'm Kai Xinn, adventurer." Since he wasn't aware of his current address, he decided to just say his name. After that, he enlightened the little girl on the location of their expedition. "I'm going to the 6th floor, so you should be careful and stay at my back as the monsters there are faster than you thought."

"Yeah, the Goblins monsters existed on that floor, they were fast and their weakness is their aggressiveness." Amelia showed her observation about that monster.

Well, she's quite right because of the Goblin's aggressiveness they were just attacking straightforwardly and becoming an easy target.

"But wait, mister Kai. I think do you forget something?" Amelia said in a worried tone as they were already reached the 6th-floor.

Kai tilted his head at the little girl along with a confused expression on his face, as he was certain that he brought all the things he needed on this expedition.

"What are you saying, Amelia?"

Moreover, Amelia just saw a young man wearing a black hoodie and pants, also she couldn't tell if he was wearing any armor to protect himself from the monsters' attacks.

"We are already on the 6th-floor, mister Kai? So why are you not pulling out your weapon? But I can see you didn't bring anything. Also, I sensed there are monsters ahead of us." Amelia said in a perplexed tone, knowing if it was the situation they must immediately leave the 6th-floor. "Come on, mister Kai! The 5th-floor is still closer to us. If we get hurry we can come back safely."

"What are you saying, Amelia? This is my weapon." Kai was looked like slowly pulling his metallic spear in the air. He then pointed his spear toward the location where he can be heard the monsters' several footsteps.

"Who really are you, mister Kai? How do you get a weapon by just pulling something in the air? I never heard there is a magic skill like that!"
