Chapter 132: Zeus, God Of Thunder And Lightning I
...........
Kaido was out of Yovan's league... Because Yovan wasn't trying to win the battle, he was trying to win the war.
Yamato furrowed her brows, confusion overwhelming her, perplexity becoming more apparent on her face as time went on, as almost a day passed.
It was a one-sided battle. Everyone could see that, especially Kaido's crew, yet why were they frowning?
Why were some of them horrified in confusion? Why were the people of Wano, those who were witnessing the fight, and why were they in a haze, one spurting from the incomprehensibility taking place before them?
Most importantly, why was Kaido angry, so mad in fact he was becoming irrational? Just why? Despite winning, despite seeing victory ahead, why were their emotions in disarray?
Why was lightning swimming in the sky, speaking to the degree of Kaido's anger? Why was the sky split apart throughout the country of Wano? Why was Yovan laughing?
The confusion and madness come from the fact that they could see victory ahead, it was just a few months down the line, and that's if the fight continues as it is.
[Observation Haki (Presence. Strength. Intent. Emotion): 2985/∞]
[Armament Haki (Hardening. Imbuement. Emission. Internal Destruction. Survival's instinct. Outer Control): 3010/∞]
[Conqueror Haki (Domination. Incapacitation. Pressure. Infusion): 1989/∞]
It wasn't continuing as it is because Kaido realized why Yovan was there... He was using him as a practice dummy and learning from him.
He did learn something from him, how Internal Destruction work. He learned it by allowing himself to be hit by it.
Internal Destruction is a step above Emission, the latter was something Yovan mastered beyond anyone really, so he didn't find it difficult to grasp the former also.
The technique works by having Haki flow into a target's body to destroy it from the inside out, which can be done by touching, grabbing, or even emitting Haki toward the object.
Against opponents with Armament Haki, this technique wreaks tremendous internal damage and should be the most destructive Armament Haki technique.
Yovan, however, took it a step further as he mixed it with his Hasshoken, the two techniques complementing each perfectly to release forces of tremendous power.
Now, how about ten arms using the technique at the same time? Well, for the first time since the beginning of the fight, Kaido released a grunt, one of pain or discomfort.
It wasn't any kind of pain that would inconvenience him in any way, not even with a little of his skin cracking, and especially not when it heals seconds later.
The brunt of the damage, however, was hidden inside the body of the beast. The damage done to Yovan, however, was apparent to all because he seemed to be made entirely of Ink.
"Wait for a second!" Yovan yelled.
"Huh? What?" Kaido questioned with confusion, his anger coming to a halt.
"Just catching my breath," Yovan said as he took a deep breath, "Anyway." He scattered, appearing instantly next to Yamato.
"Yo! See you later, and tell the practice dummy that I will come back in a month!" He scattered yet again, evading the oncoming bolts of lightning.
"You!!!!! You think you can just come and leave how you wish!!!!? I, Kaido of the beasts swear upon my name to bring upon you suffering you've never seen before!!!!" Kaido's roars shook the world.
His madness and wrath were heard by all and felt by all, but many doubted his words. Not to take away from his monstrosity but the monster that just showed himself to them was a different breed altogether.
When he appeared by Yamato, the people of Wano, those around who are powerful enough to keep consciousness were able to lay eyes on him, on his state... That's no human.
Instead of blood, the monster bled ink. Instead of exhaustion, the monster seemed to feel nothing but satisfaction.
And no amount of missing body parts was gonna bring the monster down. He had already lost enough in the battle. The ink had his back, and there was always more of it, enough to keep him functioning.
And that golden fiery, it didn't know fear. Maybe they knew suffering at one point, but at this point, it was an everyday occurrence, it was just life.
[Willpower: 4500/∞]
That's really why Kaido was so mad, because he felt it, Yovan's monstrous willpower... It was stronger than his own in more ways than one.
Kaido would've gone on a rampage through Wano out of anger, but Yamato was there to stop him.
She kind of saw herself as the protector of Wano. Perhaps that's why she doesn't leave despite telling Yovan about how much she hates Kaido, her father.
The last few days were very strange for her. She clearly remembers meeting someone else who stumbled upon Onigashima, a man by the name of Ace.
Yovan, however, is a completely different breed, and the figure of him going against her father while laughing couldn't leave her head.
She found herself unable to sleep, desire brewing within her, desire to fight him again, to truly push him to the limits because their fight was nothing like that of Yovan against Kaido.
"Haha Yahaha, you jesting?" Yovan was still laughing even days later, but for a different reason as he spoke to someone through a Den Den Mushi.
"Those are your responsibilities as a Warlord," Speaking to him was actually the Fleet Admiral of the Marines, Sengoku, and he was barely holding back his anger.
"Well, you see, my body hurts all over. That damned beast Kaido beat me up for no reason, so I can't really do much," Yovan complained lazily, "And for no reason at that."
"Damn you kid!! You're the one who destroyed his entire base! What did you expect would happen!!!" Sengoku couldn't hold back his anger anymore, not when all Yovan had done since joining the Warlord system was to not do anything.
"Aghh, seriously though, I do not trust the Marines or the World Government, so don't expect much from me," Yovan shrugged, not messing around any further, "Contact me only when it's something to do with the Pantheon."
"Don't you dar..." Yovan hung up, letting out a sigh, one of wonder, 'Are they suspicious of me? The more time passes, the deeper their investigation goes, the more suspicious they'll be.'
He was certain because his plans weren't flawless. There were some variables he can do nothing about.
Tinny D. Sinj was one of Bege's men, and while they rarely show themselves, especially Sinj, they're still some leads to his real identity as a part of Yovan's crew.
The Marines were very unlikely to find them considering Yovan had done a lot to erase those traces, but there was still a possibility.
'Sinj huh, he really did well,' Yovan mused in his mind, his golden eye speaking of nothing but coldness and contemplation... He gave the kid a test, one Sinj didn't know about, and failure means death.
Yovan has some big plans for Sinj, but the kid is a bit too immature and perhaps untrustworthy, so he used his as a front as well as a distraction, "But it's time to graduate." Yovan stood up from his flying carpet of feathers, his black cape swimming with the wind but still stuck tight on his shoulders.
The Strangers were left with a task, a very important task. The Pantheon was also moving, also left with a task.
All the while, Yovan was back in Paradise, still not fully healed but he was damn close to it, the emerald flames burning on some parts of his body were helping quite a bit.
He made sure to satiate Enyo's hunger enough just in case things don't go how he wishes. He started by turning into his beast form, a small golden-eyed crow.
The crow flew higher and higher, leaving behind the carpet of feathers. Soon, the crow saw an Island high in the sky, floating about.
The Island was called Skypiea, and its people have small wings on their backs, resembling those of angels.
The Island is the place Yovan saw when he was flying Seizon No Hono above Jaya, and he made sure to remember it ever since, his mostly healed memory helping him specifically remember the lightning-controlling person he saw.
The complete destruction of Jaya ensured no one could reach the Haven in the sky because Jaya had a hidden passage to it, one Yovan doesn't need.
The crow flew above the Island, then to a place called the Upper Yard, soon settling before an odd man, a pale-skinned man with a well-toned yet somewhat wiry build, standing very tall at 8'9.
He has a slim face, a half-lidded expression accentuated by a calm, confident smile.
He has blond hair that is set in a large perm, but his most distinctive feature was his earlobes, stretching all the way to his chest, being weighed down by gold earrings with diamond-shaped pendants.
"God, Enel," The man found himself compelled for some reason to introduce himself under the crow's ominous golden eyes.
"God, Yovan," The Stranger's introduction always finds ways to be memorable to those who live past hearing it.
