Life Of A Bounty Hunter ( Part 2 )

Three Days Later

I have stayed in the Marine base for two days now. During those two days, I explored the town meeting the townspeople who were quite nice. I even got free lunch and breakfast once I told them my name.

As I walked through the town, some people would wave at me and others stopped and greeted me. After about 6 minutes of walking, I entered a store for kids that has the most toys in the one-piece world and clothes as well. Yesterday I came across an orphanage when I was wandering around the town.

The kids were around 4-7 years old along and their caretakers were around 20 years old. I played around with the kids the whole day to the point they started to call me big brother which I didn't mind.

I noticed they were lacking in toys and clothes as well. Ethan donates some money to the orphanage along with the town but it's only enough for basic needs like food. So I plan on buying them new toys and clothes.

" Hey kid, where are your parents?" A one-eyed cashier asked me as I looked around the store. I took out a card from my pocket which I got from Ethan that told any citizens I'm officially recognized by the Marines as a bounty hunter. It has my name on it along with the symbol of the Marines and the World Government along with being signed by Ethan, Captain of the 1st branch in the West Blue.

" To be recognized By Captain Ethan at such a young age, you have to do something extraordinary. So what can I get for you?". The cashier said to me after I took back my hunter from him and put it back inside my packet.

" Get me 4 of everything, please. Don't worry about the money, I have more than enough." I said back to him leaving him dazed for a few seconds before he went back inside the shop and came out with a bag big enough you fit a small house inside. It took the cashier about 20 minutes for him to pack up everything and one more bag since the first wasn't enough.

" Your total amount will be 1.4 million berries." The cashier said after he added up the price sweating a lot from carrying the two bags and running around the store. I handed him 140 $10,000 bills out of 5 million I brought with me as the rest was inside my room in the Marine base. It took the cashier another five minutes to count the total amount.

" Hey, kid you need helpppp". The cashier asked me but his eyes enlarged to the size of a tennis ball as he saw me lift the two bags in the air and walked out of the store.

The two bags weighed around 8000 pounds in total which was no problem for me to carry. As I walked toward the orphanage which was at the back of the town, the townspeople tried to help me carry the bags but I just said no to them as I didn't it.

As I entered the orphanage which was four large wooden houses, I was rushed by 10 different kids as they hugged me knocking me down to the ground along with the two bags. The kids were around 4 years old as more kids came as they saw the commotion. In total, the orphanage had 40 kids who were either abandoned by their parents or lost them due to pirates or died from other causes.

" You know you could hurt yourself if I dodged," I said to the kids as I picked them up from the ground. They said sorry not to do that again as we went inside the playground where I open the bag surprising them.

" Hey big bro, you know you didn't have to buy all of this." A 4-year girl with short red hair and black eyes said crying. Some of the other younger kids starting crying as I hugged all of them in one go wiping away their tears.

" Don't worry I have more than money if you worried about that besides I wanted to make sure you guys enjoy your childhood. Now, why don't you go play with the rest of your buddies." I told them as they nodded and went to the pile of toys and clothes.

" Drake, thank you so much for your help." The main caretaker of the orphanage said to me as we watched the kids play. Her name is Atalanta and she's been the main caretaker for about 4 years now.

She has green hair towards the front of her hair while the back was whitish yellow-colored with dark green eyes. She seems to be liked pretty much by everyone on the island due to her kindness.

( I had to include her somehow in this story. )

" Don't worry about it besides the kids needed them," I said to her while giving her the rest of the money I had which was around 4 million berries. She immediately tried to give the money back but after five minutes of arguing she accepted the money. I told her to use the money for the kids and the orphanage along with anything else they need in the future.

" Right while you still here, could you knock some sense into Thor". She asked me as we went under the only tree on the playground to hide from the sun as it was getting hot.

" You mean the rude red hair kid," I asked since I met Thor yesterday as he challenged me to a fight. Safe to say he tasted dirt as he punched him to the ground in one hit.

He was strong for your average seven-year-old but nothing special. Atalanta nodded at me she explained he started training even harder after I hurt his ego and pride.

" He's been saying he wants to go out to the even more now after he saw you, someone of the same age, as a bounty hunter out on the sea. But I'm afraid the moment he does that he will die." Atalanta said to me as she explained his backstory.

He's not even from this part of the sea, he was born in the New World and was later found by the Marines who picked him when he was 4 and has been staying in the orphanage since then. From what little he revealed about himself, it seems like he was a prince in a country somewhere in the New World.

" Alright, I go see what I can do," I said to her as I walked towards the very end of the island which was where most of the trees were at along with a few small mountains. It took me about five minutes to reach the place where I could see a 5'8 kid with short red hair punching and kicking one of the mountains.

" You shouldn't push yourself this hard, it could destroy your body," I said to him stopping his punches as he turned and saw me. His eyes were greenish-yellow in with black sclera along with numerous golden patterns below his eyes and his whole body.

( Looks like Thor Record of Ragnarok but with shorter hair for now and 7 years old.)

" What are you doing here. Leave this is my area." He said to me to which I responded by saying it's a public area which pissed him off.

" Look I couldn't care what you do but Atalanta said you have been wanting to go out to the sea. Do you know what could happen to you?". I asked him to which he responded yeah before he went back to punching the tree.

" Yeah well, you're not doing that. It's particularly suicide for you right now." I said to him hoping the kid can think rationally.

" HUH, YOU'RE THE SAME AGE AS ME. WHY CAN'T I DO THE SAME THING AS YOU THEN. WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN US!" Thor yelled out in rage from me trying to stop him from what I been doing.

" What makes you think we are the same. Don't get it confused just because we share the same age." I said to him while releasing my conqueror's haki as it made him knelt on the ground from the pressure I released without holding anything back.

( Thor's Pov )

Just as I was about to attack Drake, I felt a pressure that brought me to my knees and nearly made me unconscious.

' I can feel his strength'

' His will and his desire alone is telling me to kneel'

'It's telling me to kneel and submit to him'

'No No No... No matter I won't submit, I'm someone who will reach the top of this world'

' How can I lose to someone's will"

Next thing I knew a similar pressure came out of me which I didn't even know I possessed. But it was a lot weaker than his. As our willed clashed against one another, it generated thin red lightning-like streams of colored energy that crackle but our clash was over soon as he overpowered my will in less than a minute. As the clash ended, I think I knew at this moment what I had to to get my revenge.

( Drake's Pov )

When I released my conqueror's haki, I wasn't expecting this result. I didn't think Thor would awaken his conqueror's haki in our little clash but I suppose it's not that surprising him having it. He already has a strong will and ambition from what I have seen so far from him. Before I could say something, I saw Thor bowing down towards me.

" Please take me with you. Train me... I beg you." Drake said to me in a desperate voice.

It took me a few minutes to fathom everything that just happened. I decided to take Thor under my banner as I need powerful subordinates and having someone with conqueror's haki I can train and will listen to my orders is perfect.

" Fine, you can come with me but don't blame me if you make any mistakes and die from it," I said to him while I picked him up from the ground.

" That's fine, I'm been prepared for death since I was 4," Thor said back to me as I told him to follow me back to the orphanage. I plan on setting sail in four hours as I wanted to get the devil fruits before someone finds them.

Harbor Area

As I unveiled the sails on the ship, Thor was talking was Atalanta and the kids. Ethan and some of the marines came to the port to send me off. It took about an hour to convince Atalanta that I can protect Thor and that I will send him back if anything happens to him.

" Thor it's time," I called out to him as he started climbing up the ladder to the deck of the ship.

" Drake, Thor, we wait for your return. " Ethan yelled out as the ship started sailing.

" Both of you take care," Atalanta said with along with 39 kids screaming out the same thing. Most of them started crying as they saw the ship started to sail away from the harbor.

" Get used to this, make sure you cherish this memory. You don't know when you will return to them or what will happen to you as you sail across the sea." I said to him as I saw him tearing up a little as I steered the ship.

He wiped his tears once I said that to him as he resolved himself. His greenish-yellow eyes looked more determined as he asked where we are headed towards. I just answered him sailing wherever the wind takes us.

' System, on the map for one of the devil fruits, why is there an image of a sword stabbing a devil fruit.' I asked the system in my head which I forget to do.

" It means an inanimate object has " eaten" a devil fruit like your sword Morgan." The system said to me as it cleared up my confusion. It seems like I'm going for that before getting the uneaten devil fruits. The object was about 4 hours away from our current location.

This chapter might have tons of spelling mistakes as this chapter wasn't planned and it didn't have a draft either unlike my previous or future chapters. Where I already had a chapter written and I just had to fix some errors and add in more in the chapter if needed.
