Chapter 60

I could see Doflamingo was dsperate and he noticed the power disparity that just grew larger. He was at a disadvantage and we could all see it.

He shot two string bullets at me and Raynare, we dodged them both. But that was a distraction and it was laughingly obvious as he plummeted towards the ground.

Raynare was about to give chase, but I stopped her. "There is no need to go after him."

I looked at him curiously, wondering what he was about to pull now. As his body got closer and closer to water, I looked on, curious at what he was going to do. 

He made a cocoon around his body and plunged into the water. That was admirable of him, he now just had to hope that he didn't get swallowed by a Seaking and taken even deeper underwater. Places where even light didn't shine.

"Should we call on the submarines and finish him off?" Raynare suggested.

But I shook my head. "There is no need, the intention wasn't to kill him… yet."

If Doflamingo died now, then Kaido would set his sights on me. Well, not only him, but even Big Mom and many other Underworld groups would try and attack me. I wasn't Luffy to make such a reckless decision. Also having Doffy's group come after me would be a pain. I would rather eliminate them all at once, and go after Kaido immediately.

After Doflamingo's body went so far underwater that I couldn't see it anymore, I turned towards Raynare and mentioned her towards me. "Can you fly us to Jaya? I don't think making the journey back is possible for me."

She smiled at me gently, at that moment Raynare looked like my angel. Though that was probably just my subconscious thoughts talking, maybe I took too many shots in the head.

My body slumped and she gently caught me, resting my head between her breasts as she flew off. It was a smart decision to notify her during the start of the fight. Not only did it win me the battle, but this service was first-class.

Once we returned to Jaya, I saw Negan had taken control of the marines stationed there. And in classic Negan fashion had started doing something outrageous.

He was using the released prisoners to build some houses. Sure, he might have read my intentions into making this a commercial and more livable place. But he always came up with such... innovative ways to handle a situation.

"C'mon you scumbags! Work!" He yelled out and looked at the other marines. "Guys! You yell at them too~ it makes me seem like an asśwhole if only I do it."

The other marines looked at his borderline criminal actions suspiciously. But not a lot of people would dare refuse Negan when he makes his demands. Maybe the spiked bat and his malicious smile was just the cherry on top in convincing people as everyone did what he said and started yelling at the prisoners.

Raynare looked at this with annoyance. "I leave him alone for not even an hour and he has already started his usual antics?" *sigh*

I only smiled, this was Negan. If he didn't do something like borderline criminal every other day it would be strange. Plus it technically wasn't illegal to use criminals as free labor. "Let him be, he just came up with a unique solution to the problem."

"You shouldn't support this kinda behavior," Raynare pouted as she gently laid me on the grassy ground. Her eyes gained a strange glitter in them while looking at me. She then smirked. "Would you support my decisions if I took advantage of you right now?"

"I would encourage it," I replied immediately. "There is nothing better than a blowjob after a fight."

Days passed by and Jaya Island grew to become something that didn't resemble anything like its previous look. Though there hadn't been any new civilians, the place now had a big port, and houses were built everywhere. 

My new house on the island was a simple one and the only difference from the others was the sign that said 'Mayor' in front of it.

Raynare and Negan were lounging about in the house. Each doing their things, apparently Negan had started writing a book? And Mero, his mermaid friend, was helping him.

I, on the other hand, had some pages in front of me, and calculated the timeline in One Piece and how long it would take Luffy to defeat Enel.

"Mero, go get me some beer," Negan ordered his semi-girlfriend. Poor girl, the feelings were one-sided, the only thing Negan loved was blood, slaughter, and prostitutes. The really slutty kind too. 

Deciding to do something better, I went to Negan and looked at what he was writing. And… it was smut… and it had drawings of naked mermaids all over the pages. 

"Why am I even surprised?" I muttered to myself and went back to doing my own thing. 

*purupurupuru*

Raynare's Transponder Snail rang and she answered. "Who is it?"

"It's Sharlia," the voice from the other side said. "I am on Jaya, where the hell is your house?!"

"..." Raynare just closed the call, with an annoyed look. "Learn to read, bìtch, I clearly explained it to you before," she murmured, thinking that I wouldn't hear it.

"Sharlia? Whose that?" Asked Negan, looking away from his smut. 

"A World Noble that Max was able to convince to join us," Raynare explained. 

Immediately an excited look appeared on my psychotic friend's face. His eyes shined with the chaotic madness in them. "Boss-man!!" He always called me like that after he came up with some outrageous idea. "I have an amazing idea! How about we-"

"No," I interrupted him, rejecting his offer before he could even say it. But he wasn't dejected by it at all, and his enthusiasm didn't die off at all. 

He got up, threw away his smut book, and smiled wider. "Trust me it will be-"

"I said no," my answer again came before he could finish. I didn't wanna hear his crazy idea.

"C'mon man~ hear me out-"

"Did I fùcking stutter?" I asked, staring into his eyes calmly.

Nagan slumped his shoulders dejectedly and then started walking off. Well, it would be better if I stopped him from doing something that would raise his mood. So with a heavy sigh, I decided to play along. He had just gotten back after all. "Okay, describe your idea in four words or less."

His smile came back like that of a child. "Explosion, Mariejois, Celestial Dragon Slave!"

"....No…" I answered dully. It took a special kind of mad man to want Celestial Dragon slaves. Negan started nagging but I zoned him out, knowing that he would forget this whole ordeal ten minutes later… actually probably less than that.

After that ordeal, I got up and went outside, Sharlia was there and I looked at the sky, a strange smirk making its way onto my face.

"Max!" Sharlia threw herself at me and I caught her in a hug. "You have no idea how much I missed you!"

I smiled and patted her head. "We missed you too Lia," my words seemed to make her blush and Raynare got an annoyed look. Still, though, acting like I was a dense anime protagonist was the best. A girl could hit me with a confession straight to my face and I would dodge that shìt expertly. 

"Anyway, have you ever been to a Sky Island?" I asked, doing my best to ignore the sparks that were flying between Sharlia and Raynare.

A/N: The fight between Max and Doflamingo was planned from by Max since the beginning. They fought above water, in a place where Doffy wouldn't be able to use his Awakening. Also if you read carefully, at the start of the fight he used his transponder snail to notify Raynare.
