One Piece - Survivals for the fittest

Chizuki was orphaned the same day she was born. Losing the person responsible for her chance at life. She spent most of her free time reading, not knowing of the talent deep within her. All of it changed however, with an explosion. Followed by several more. The destruction of her... home? yet not a single memory remained. But you have to lose something to gain something more, and thats exactly what happened. Waking up in a hospital surrounded by marines and a man munching on... crackers. Follow her journey in a world of pirates, marines and a never ending adventure. Will she regain her memory and take revenge? Or will she even care? And who's voice does she keep hearing? --- Be prepared for a lot of detail. I'm trying to make it as realistic as possible but at the same time, it's a fantasy world. It may be a little slow but please give it a try. Thanks. The world of One piece does NOT belong to me it belongs to Oda. Chizuki is my OC other than that most if not all charcters belong to Oda.

Haki and the start of an adventure

Chizuki Pov*

Guess where I am?

I'm on a boat.

That's right. I'm on a boat.

It's been five months since the start of the academy and not much has changed.

I remained in first place and my points continued to rise. I originally had 20,000 of them, five thousand for the test and then three thousand each month, but after the first day at the academy I asked the old man Keith about Haki.

He told me that Haki is hard to teach since you either have talent for it or don't, and that I should just buy the books and that I wouldn't regret it.

After thinking it over for a while I decided to wait until I could afford both of them, so I bought both of them two months after I spoke to Keith.

That was three months ago and so far, I have only managed to learn the basics of both.

Apparently, Haki can be divided into four stages:

Basic mastery

-Low

-Mid

-High

Intermediate mastery

-Low

-Mid

-High

Advanced mastery

-Low

-Mid

-High

Grand mastery.

-Low

-Mid

-High

Currently, after three months, I have reached around mid-basic mastery for both. I have discovered that I'm more talented at Armament than I am observation.

*Flashback 3 months ago. 3rd person *

Currently Chizuki was sitting in her room, on her bed, holding two books.

Both of them had blue covers and the marine symbol on top of the book and both of them had the title in bold white letters.

'Armament Haki'

'Observation Haki'

She placed the Armament Haki book down first and opened the other one.

~ Kenbunshoku Haki is a form of Haki that grants the user a sixth sense that allows them to sense the presence, strength, and emotions of others, as well as gain limited precognitive abilities. ~

This was the description she found upon opening the book, one that greatly drew her attention.

'A sixth sense? Not to mention the precognitive abilities too! Doesn't this mean I can predicts someone's punches before they even throw them? And see them without seeing them?... as weird as that sounds.'

'Let's see'

~ Kenbunshoku Haki requires the usage of spirit energy. It requires the user to open their mind and expand the spiritual energy in the body outside. This will allow them to sense everything around them for a certain radius. The more proficient one becomes, the more powerful their observations become. Eventually allowing one to peer into things others cannot. ~

'...Ok? I mean, it's a good description, and I got goosebumps... but how the hell do I use it? Expand my spiritual energy in my body outside? Do I even have any? And if so, how the hell do I expand it?'

'Augh, this is stupid. I'm basically just going to have to go through trial and error. What about the other one?'

~ Busoshoku Haki is a form of Haki that allows the user to use their own spiritual energy to create, in essence, an invisible strong protection armor around themself, providing incredible offensive and defensive capabilities. Notably, this form of Haki can be used to injure Devil Fruit users that are otherwise immune to ordinary physical attacks, such as Logia users. ~

*Sigh* 'Again, super awesome, gave my goosebumps goosebumps, but how the hell do I acquire it. This is frustrating as hell.'

'Whatever, let's just try.'

After thinking about how useless the author of the book is, she sat down cross legged on her bed and closed her eyes.

Spiritual energy is obviously internal, and the way the book talked about it made it seem like everyone has it. Thus, it is just a matter of finding it and telling its lazy ass that it's time to move out.

The first thing she did was regulate her breathing, deep breaths in and out. She then tried to imagine the world around her, her room, her belongings, what she was doing.

She tried to make sense of the world around her. She could feel her heart beating in her chest. Her chest expanding with the intake of oxygen, the cold air brushing upon her skin.

But all of this was just her senses expanding due to the loss of her vision.

She still couldn't grasp what spiritual energy was.

She knew that once she had sensed spiritual energy, even if it was only once, the rest would be easy since both techniques are just a matter of how you manipulate it.

After a few hours had passed, she still had no luck. She felt more refreshed and clearer headed but she still hadn't managed to sense it. It was also time for her training, so she got up and decided to try again later.

After this, she continued practicing every day, meditating whenever she was free trying to sense this mythical energy within her. It wasn't until the 2nd week that she did.

She was doing her daily meditation, though this time she was outside. She decided to move to the gardens to practice since there are a lot more things to sense. She also figured that sensing life would probably be easier than sensing inanimate objects.

After ten or so minutes of meditation, she finally felt what she was looking for!

At the center of her stomach, she could feel some sort of energy compressed. She couldn't see anything, but she could feel it.

And now that she was conscious of it, she felt that she needed to release it. It felt like she had a bloated stomach, she was filled with spirit energy.

'Finally found you. You've been living inside me for the past 13 years, it's time for you to move out.'

She focused on the energy in her stomach and willed it out. At first it didn't move, but the more she willed it, the more it began to shake and then after five minutes the energy finally burst like a dam and spread out all around her.

The feeling was magical.

All five of her senses felt like they multiplied. She could hear further, feel everything around her. Even with her eyes closed, she could sense everything around her, she couldn't see it, but she knew what was around her and where they were.

As far as she could tell, she could "see" everything that was happening within a fifty meter radius.

"This is amazing phahahaha. Its 100% worth five thousand points, damn if I knew it was this good, I would have paid five times that. And to think this is only the basic stage, I haven't even unlocked precognition yet, which means the more I push this Haki, the more abilities I'll get.. I think.

Now that I know how to use spirit energy, I can also try Kenbunshoku Haki."

Observation Haki was essentially just spreading your spiritual energy around you in a circle, allowing you to sense everything inside it. Armament Haki is the opposite. Instead of spreading it out, you compress it around your body.

Chizuki once again closed her eyes and sensed the spiritual energy around her. This time she could see a dome surrounding her, fifty meters in all directions.

This time, instead of willing the energy outward, she willed it around herself. She could feel the energy rushing back towards her almost instantly, however, even though it surrounded her, she couldn't feel any changes.

She could feel that the energy covered her entire body with a shield less than 1mm thick, but it didn't do anything to her, it seemed more like a decoration.

She tried to remember what she read in the book. Creates a strong protection armor around themselves to use for either offence or defense...

'Maybe it's not strong enough? Or maybe I don't have enough spiritual energy.'

Thinking this, she tried concentrating all of her spiritual energy into her hand, and low and behold, it worked.

Her right hand gained a dark grey coating around it, and she could feel that her hand was around two or three times more powerful than before.

'I guess quantity is better than quality in Haki's case... no, it would be better to say quantity = quality. The more spiritual energy you compress, the more powerful it is, which makes sense.'

She then continued playing with Haki with a smile on her face, like a child who found a new toy. Only this toy had a few thousand pound of force behind it.

Present - First person*

Yup, I learned Haki by myself, I'm what you would call the GOAT.

*Cough* All none jokes aside, the next test I took part in after awakening Haki was quite funny. Surrounding my legs in Haki increases my speed massively and the same goes for my strength. Not to mention, none of the recruits can hit me thanks to observation Haki... not that they could before.

Old man Keith gained what I think was a migraine upon seeing I learnt Haki, especially when he saw the faces of the others after my scores tripled.

Fufufu... oops ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

And that's why I'm here, on a boat.

The old man approached me a few days ago and gave me a choice. The first one was I could continue staying in the academy and go about as I have so far. Doing my own thing with complete freedom.

Or the second option was allowing me to leave. He said I could leave the academy and do whatever I want for the next few months, as long as I return before the final test. If I fail to do that, then I fail the course.

So of course I chose the second option and then the very next day, a boat came and picked me up and was going to drop me off at the closest island, where I can do whatever I want.

Another good thing is that during the months I am gone, my position will remain as number one so long as no-one breaks my record, meaning my points will continue to grow.

Not that I use them anyway.

Now I am just planning my course of action for the next 18 months. What do I want to do? Where do I want to go? I do have a few goals in mind.

Firstly: Obtain a weapon. I'll have to visit a blacksmith and have one made, or I can maybe find one but the chances of that happening are insanely low and the weapon will probably not be that good.

Secondly: I want to visit Garp and Sengoku. I haven't seen them for over five months and as much as I hate to admit it, I kind of miss them. We have spoken over the Den Den Mushi's a few times but I can still make time to visit.

Thirdly: Advance my Haki. Obviously, I have continued to practice, and I am currently around the peak of mid stage basic. After these 18 months I want to be at least mid-high intermediate stage. Hopefully.

And finally: Acquire a devil fruit. That's right, I want a devil fruit and hopefully a really powerful one. I know it will be hard to find a good one that I have an affinity with, but I'm still going to try. There are a few I have in mind such as the more more fruit, any of the powerful logia's and I also wouldn't mind a mythical zone. Like the Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Kyubi no Kitsune.

I wouldn't mind becoming a nine tailed fox. I read a book about them before and according to the sources, they are extremely powerful immortal mythical creatures.

Other than these four goals, I don't really know. I figured I'd just let the wind take me.

"We're here!"

Upon hearing Craigs words, (self-named since he looks like a Craig), I looked ahead and could see an island in the distance.

Arabasta.

A kingdom surrounded by dry land, deserts and ruled by the Nefertari family.

It's one of the closest island to the academy and since Craig was doing a delivery here, old man Keith told him to bring me along.

Hopefully, something interesting will happen.
