Could Roulan get any more lucky than this?

She forgot about the field trip!

And she's even sitting beside Huiqing on the bus.

It won't be that awkward, right?

It's been a week since the last talk between the two happened. Everyone saw how Huiqing and Roulan seemed distant from each other, and this caused Chang to smirk and try to make a move to Huiqing.

Of course, the woman ignored him, and this caused him to be the clown of the university.

Oh, he clearly isn't a fan of it.

Roulan, witnessing everything unfold from afar, couldn't help but chuckle.

After her confrontation with Yanmei back in the hallway, the two didn't seem to talk with each other as well.

Whenever Yu and Lanfen asked Yanmei to join them to eat in the cafeteria, the older woman would disagree and would always say that she was full.

Roulan also couldn't help but notice the change of attitude the woman had; she wasn't even sleeping in the same bed as Roulan.

If the field trip happened back when the two were still okay, maybe the awkwardness and how Roulan worried about the interaction would not be there.

But this has to be moved to when the two are getting to know each other.

Funny how, just earlier, she still felt shy around Huiqing, and pretending that they have a relationship seems unreal. Now look at them.

"We're doing a roll call; raise your hand if you're here."

And not to mention, the field trip will last for three days!

And they got to have roommates.

Now, she's actually pretty scared to be roomed with the two women she has problems with.

"Ok, the roll call will also tell you who your roommates are in a hotel room."

"There are two people who'll share one bed and three people for three beds."

Roulan closes her eyes. She wishes that anyone could become her roommate in a bed, just not the two women.

She couldn't help but cross her fingers, causing Yu and Lanfen, who were both beside her, to furrow their eyebrows.

"Seems like someone here doesn't want to be partnered with someone?"

Lanfen's voice caught Yanmei, who was beside Yu.

Roulan opened her eyes and quickly caught Yanmei's cold ones. She quickly looked away and glared at the two beside her.

"Just shut up."

"You're so stupid."

"I know! You don't need to punch it in my face."

"Qin Huiqing, Li Roulan, and Zhao Yanmei."

Yu and Lanfen look at each other and chuckle at the announcement.

Their eyes look at their friend, and they see the gloomy expression she has. They pat the taller woman's shoulder and smile.

"That wouldn't be that bad; Yanmei's with you."

Yu said, her eyes looking at the older woman beside her as she nodded, as if telling her to "take care of this giant; she needs moral support.".

Yanmei, not wanting to deal with anything, only gave her a fake smile and nodded.

Her eyes darted at the younger woman before she saw a familiar face amongst the crowd walking towards them.

Her hand balled in anger, but she had to control it so as not to get any suspicious glances and questions from the two.

"Roulan, Yanmei."

Huiqing spoke, her voice as gentle and soft as ever, as she looked at the back of Roulan's body.

Her eyes darted at the woman whose eyes were looking at her and smiled at her, as Yanmei replied with a small smile.

Yu and Lanfen both look at their backs and seeing Huiqing, they both pat Roulan's shoulder and walk away from the three.

"Since we three are sharing the same room, we should sit beside each other!"

Huiqing said it enthusiastically.

Ok, just calm down.

After the roll call, the students are all guided to ride their respective buses, and, to Rouland's luck, Yu and Lanfen are both on the other bus.

Huiqing guided the two towards the back of the bus, where almost all the trios or groups of friends would sit.

And it happened that Chang also sat in the same row as them.

Yanmei sat beside the window, not wanting to deal with the noisy jerks in the same row as them.

Roulan, not wanting to deal with both, just has to sit in the middle of Huiqing and Yanmei.

She couldn't help the sweat leaving her body as Chang glared at her, who was sitting beside Huiqing.

"Why are you sweating? It's cold here."

Chang spoke, grabbing the attention of the two women beside Roulan.

Huiqing quickly grabbed her handkerchief and was about to give it to Roulan, but she already saw Yanmei throw the taller woman a small towel as if telling her to wipe her sweat.

Roulan grabbed the towel, looked at Yanmei, and saw the older woman looking out of the window.

"Thanks."

She mumbles as Huiqing clears her throat and fixes her position on the chair.

The teacher went inside the bus and told them that they'd be traveling for a few hours.

Huiqing readied herself; she quickly grabbed a neck pillow and leaned her head towards Roulan's shoulder to sleep.

Chang saw her action, and he couldn't help but sneer, grabbing the attention of Yanmei as she also saw how Huiqing took the chance to lean on Roulan's shoulder.

She scoffs before leaning on the window, wanting to get away from the two for a while.

"Babe, you can lean on my shoulders instead."

But the woman he's talking to has already gone to her dreamland.

Huiqing's ignorance and not answering Chang's statement cause Roulan to snicker, to which Chang replies with a glare.

"Everyone, we've already arrived at our destination."

The booming noise inside the bus woke Roulan up; her head quickly bolted up, and she looked at the person where her head lay.

Yanmei.

Her eyebrows furrowed upon seeing Yanmei's head leaning on her left shoulder; didn't she lean on the window?

As far as she knows, Yanmei isn't likely to move when sleeping.

Based on how they slept together.

Could it be that Yanmei woke up a little early and fixed herself on her shoulder?

Nope, that won't happen, as Yanmei's still ignoring her.

Groans can be heard roaming around the small, rectangular vehicle and Roulan as she stretches herself, feeling the long hours already hitting her body.

She quickly shook Huiqing awake, to which the woman responded by bolting up, her eyes wide open.

"It's time to go down."

Roulan said as Huiqing nodded and smiled, her hand quickly reaching to where her bag pack was and leaving the two alone.

Roulan sighs and looks at the older woman beside her, her hands crawling on either side of Yanmei's face as she lifts it gently to look at the soft features she has.

Her face softened, not seeing the bitchy and always moody Yanmei that she knew. She couldn't help but think of what she just said to the woman a week ago.

Her forehead frowned, eyebrows furrowed together as if scolding herself for being an idiot.

Yanmei's eyes quickly opened; they stared at the face in front of her and roamed quickly, not seeing anybody around their surroundings.

"Why are you holding me?"

Roulan flinches, and she quickly retrieves her hands away from Yanmei's face, looking at anything but her.

"I was about to wake you up."

Yanmei's skin was a bit sensitive; she quickly looked at her reflection in the window and saw that her cheeks were a little red.
