Liam found it fun to go around the forest sensing life forms, avoiding the ones he deemed too dangerous for him and challenging the ones he deemed weak.
It was just a form of training to perfect his newfound ability and at the same time train his body.
Grrrrr!
Before Liam, stood a wolf, one that Liam specifically picked due to its race.
While scanning through the forest, he made sure to search for energy signatures similar to the wolf that attacked him. His ability had limits both in the area and the energy signatures it could detect, hindering Liam's main objective.
"You'll have to serve as my practice target," Liam said as he pointed a finger at the frightened creature. "Don't worry… I won't kill you."
Smirk
As he walked slowly to the creature, he activated his ability to sense energy signatures, getting both a physical and a somewhat spiritual view of the creature.
The ability made him see the creature as a mass of energy with no physical appearance. It also allowed him to see how the creature's energy fluctuated, giving him the ability to predetermine its next action.
As energy moved rapidly into the wolf's legs, it pounced for Liam, who in turn avoided it with great precision.
As the energy on the wolf's leg multiplied, it tried to flee from the scary creature before it but failed miserably as its tail was held in a tight grip by its assailant.
It could only cry out in surprise as he was dragged back by the creature who just wanted to use him as a punching bag.
"Don't worry, I'll not hurt you much… just let me eat you up."
Liam could not help but salivate at the thought of having a great feast tonight, so he decided to end the poor creature suffering.
Liam was not wicked but as a human both on Earth and now Kosmos, had no issue with the slaughter of animals he had no emotional attachment to, for the nutritional needs of his body.
Back in Red Light City, he had eaten a lot of sumptuous meals. Cuckoo had said, "food tastes better with high-ranking creatures mixed in."
Though this wolf didn't look anywhere close to creatures Cuckoo used in preparing meals, it was still a good catch in such an environment.
_____
Watching from a safe distance, was a huge wolf, its veins twitching as it saw Liam killing off its kind with so much enthusiasm.
It was such a vexing situation for this wolf. If not for the order of his beloved master, he would have slaughtered the measly human, way back.
"Why the long face?" Inquired a charming voice from beside him, causing him to jump in fright.
He wasn't expecting anyone, so he felt the need to be wary of the newcomer. Letting go of his surprise, he looked at the newcomer closely. "Master?!"
Not replying immediately, she giggled. "Who else, my dear… slave," she said, gesturing for a hug.
He would have loved to hug her but refrained from that motion as he recalled his position. He was nothing but a slave, even looking at an inch of his master's body caused him so much, then what about touching her?
Though he was willing to sacrifice a lot for her if he should die due to lust, who will watch after his master? No way in hell would he, as her guardian, let that happen!
'I can't!'
Bowing his head down, he moved further from his master with a dejected expression.
"Why act shy? Come on! Grow up!" She said teasingly, her childish giggle eating in his defense.
"..."
He didn't know how to reply to her remark. It was something that he wished to challenge but feared the repercussions.
"Theo!" She called out his name seductively, moving closer to him. "Don't be scared… just follow my command and you'll do just fine."
She caressed his cheek, raising his bowed head slowly. Theo tried to resist her advances but failed as her gentle caress weakened his muscles.
"Relax!"
As their eyes met, he couldn't help but get transfixed by her appearance. Theo could only see her face which was the most amazing sight he had ever witnessed.
The lady before him had pink wavy hair that seemed to cascade down her back. Her hazel-colored eyes gleamed with a strange light.
Everything about her screamed perfection, causing the poor Theo to whimper as he tried to create a distance.
Observing the whimpering Theo with her down-turned eyes, a sly smile formed on her face. "Such a holy boy… others would die to see me in this state… but you…"
She released him, turning her back to the still scared creature. "Anyway… just keep doing your job… and you might get your dreams… at no cost."
Saying this, she disintegrated into small particles, mythically traveling in one part like a stream.
After some moments, Theo raised his head slowly, breathing out a sigh of relief as he confirmed the lady's departure.
'I managed to avoid temptation… how long can I keep this up.' he thought, shaking his head in dejection.
'No! I'll have to hold on… I've come this far. I won't let anyone reap the fruit of my hard work!'
Theo currently resembled a demonic being, his fur taking on a darker shade as time passed by. He had slaved for her too long to let things go astray.
Looking in one direction, where a young individual happily grilled the flesh of monsters, simultaneously biting down on the ones he deemed ready for consumption.
"Even you… I don't care about your status or use to her…" Theo muttered, his voice sounding vicious.
"Death is the only path for you… I'll just have to wait for the perfect chance."
Climbing on a tree branch, he laid down, quietly watching as he planned his next move.
