Ability naming.

It was a fun day for Liam as he continued on his path, using his newfound ability to avoid high-ranking monsters and kill low-ranking monsters for practice and food.

"Hmm?" Looking to the sky, Liam noticed the sun getting covered by a dark blanket. It was a marvelous scene for Liam, causing him to sign in awe of the phenomenon.

When it came to the aspect of celestial bodies, Earth and Kosmos weren't much different. Only a few details like the sky color made Liam recall that he was not on Earth.

"I'll have to find a good resting spot," Liam sighed as he picked up the dead squirrels, activating his sensing ability.

'I'll have to figure out a name for my ability soon,' Liam thought, walking in the most peaceful direction based on his findings.

Arriving at the location which was filled with discrete trees, Liam sat down under one of the largest trees. He placed his catch on the ground as he checked his space ring for the bottled water he had saved up.

Looking at the bottle of water with squinted eyes. "Hmm…? Would do," rising from his seated position, Liam moved a little further from the point designated for his rest. Turning the space ring downwards, he offloaded logs from it, filling up the entire space.

"Now I'm prepared," Liam muttered, with a strange smile on his face as he set the area for his chef work, also making sure that he does not attract any unwanted attention.

Liam had found a way to mask the smoke and light coming from the fire, and also the aroma of his food.

What better way to do these, than create a decoy for any foolish being that eyes his cooking spot?

"Hehehe, let's start."

_________

Later.

Successively creating a decoy, Liam sat comfortably beside the open fire with a stick of meat placed over it.

He salivated as the fire cooked the meat, producing a sizzling sound.

Liam had looked for some herbs which he considered good using the trial and error method.

"Ha, I can't wait!" Liam muttered, his eyes locked on the tasty-looking meal.

Seeming to recall something, Liam placed an arm on his chin, still concentrating on the sizzling quantity. "What name should I give this ability, of mine?"

Liam had been so engrossed in checking out the ability, forgetting to give it an identity… "yup! I don't need to name it… I'm not some magician, anyway.

Since I don't need to call out any words to utilize it."

Liam saw the naming process as stressful, so he decided to let everything pass, concentrating on his meal which seemed to be ready for consumption.

Not wasting any time, he bit down on it, relishing the taste of the tender flesh as he gulped down. "I can eat this forever."

Liam ate happily as he giggled from time to time, planning on how to trap creatures with similar qualities.

Finalizing his meal with a bottle of water, Liam leaned his back on the tree, looking at the sky.

'Oi. What a sumptuous meal!' Liam thought, caressing his tummy.

His tummy bulged out as he yawned in delight. 'Now that I'm full… I should work on a name for my ability…

Thanks to the nutritional meal my thought process is back on track.' Liam thought as he recalled his former words.

"How can I think of leaving my ability unnamed? If I did that, I would not be able to call out my ability name like those overpowered characters in fantasy series.

I'm glad a nice meal came my way, opening my eyes to the truth." Liam muttered to himself in a sober tone, fidgeting with a penknife.

Like the other weapons he found in the ring, it looked old and rusted. It had a modernized look, reminding Liam of earth and the one thing he longed for.

'Let me see… I've seen series with similar concepts… should I just copy their ability names, or create mine.'

It was a stressful and complicated situation for Liam as he thought of the naming method for the newly discovered ability.

As an Earthling he had watched, read, and heard of series with similar concepts; an ability to see and sense ethereal forms of being, similar to souls.

It was one of the concepts he found unrealistic, but didn't criticize the producers because it mainly occurred in fantasy series.

'Concentrate!' Liam thought as he smacked his head in an attempt to stay on track. 'Vision…'

A thoughtful expression formed on Liam's face as he thought of the aforementioned name for his ability. 'No… it doesn't seem to fit the context, and I might get confused with my eyesight and ability.'

Liam watched the colorful sky, searching his brain for any suitable name. His eyes gleamed briefly with a strange light as he came up with another idea. "Foresight!"

Out of excitement, he foolishly said loudly, covering his mouth immediately he recalled the current situation. 'Ha, I need to work hard on myself.

Foresight is not a bad name, it's just that… I kind of find it… lacking.' saying this, Liam stood up, wiping off the dust from his butt using both arms.

'Seer… no! That's related to future sight. Why can't I seem to find the right word!'

Disgruntled by the situation, Liam decides to take a walk around the vicinity, simultaneously activating his ability for safety reasons.

'An ability that shows me a different view of things… like a vampire, werewolf, snake, and other creatures with distinct eyesight.' Liam thought as he placed anxiously through the vicinity. 'I just have to find the perfect name that satisfies my ability components.'

Pausing for a moment, Liam decided to clarify his ability components to make naming easier. 'I have a limited range and can only sense creatures under the animal kingdom.

Even in the animal kingdom, the creature needs a significant level of energy to be detected by my ability.

And there is also a chance that the creature can mask its presence (energy). So I should name it based on those components.'

Liam's eyes gleamed strangely as a name came to mind. It was not a special name, but it encompassed everything his ability signified.

"Spiritual sense!"
