Visiting my mother and a surprise

I think the past three weeks had been really overwhelming for both of us. Little Moon had too much work that she was only able to finish them off just a few hours before the flight. She looked pretty exhausted.

Lee came to pick us up and I asked him to take to the new house I have bought near the beach. The drive was pleasant and on the way, I asked Lee to buy us some food and drinks, so we don't have to cook today. Double checking that she is fast asleep I talked with Lee.

"How is the preparation for the exhibition, Lee?"

"Everything is going on smoothly."

"What about the invites and the public opening times, were you able to get them resolved"

"Yes. And I asked the gallery to get a white grand piano as you mentioned."

"Thank you Lee."

"How was the promotion going on for the drama. I didn't have much time to check it because of the work."

"Everyone likes the mini bloopers. I think Little Moon do have some brilliant ideas."

"Hmm , yes I agree. I don't know where she gets those ideas."

"When are you planning to visit your mother?"

"Mostly tomorrow or day after. Mom knows I am back."

"Do you want me to get the Audi serviced and sent to you today?"

"Thanks Lee. Please do. So I don't have to bother you driving me around these days."

"I will get it done and bring it in the evening."

We approached my home. While I took LIttle Moon in my arms I asked Lee to open the door. I went and placed her in our bedroom. To get some fresh air, I opened the french window to the seaside and removed her coat and shoes. Tucked her under the sheets.

She loved the home which was by the sea view. The layout of the home suited her better with much-needed privacy and openness to the garden. At night we had dinner on the open porch with the stars above us.

"LIttle Moon,"

"Hmm..."

"Will you be ok to go and visit my mother tomorrow or do you need to rest?"

"No, I am not tired. We'll visit her tomorrow as we planned."

I looked at her, I still feel like a dream to have her here in my home. But having her here felt like my home was complete, with her laughter and the smell of red roses.

The next day we went to my mother's for lunch. She was very happy to see her. And the first thing that came to her mind was to have her check on the dresses she made for her. While I sat down and went through some magazines, I could hear their giggles and soft whispering voices. I was forbidden to enter if not I would have seriously gone and check on what they were doing.

LIttle Moon gave my mother the gift she bought, the set of dinner plates.

"Mom this is for you to use, not to keep them aside," she said.

"They look so beautiful and dainty. I love them."

I looked at the smiling face of her and my mother.

"So how was your trip?" asked mom.

"We had fun and you know mom, even though we went on a trip someone turned it into a working thing," I said looking at Little Moon.

"Why what happened?" asked my mom.

"She wanted me to take photos so in the future, she can make a lot of new color pallets for her work"

Little Moon laughed at what I said and started showing the photos I took while telling my mother I should have another exhibition called "Butterflies". I just smiled, while watching both of them getting along together and my mom acting like a young girl with her.

After spending about four to five hours with my mom, we headed back home. On the way, we went to the farm market and bought everything we need. Earlier she was Little Moon was planning to make dinner but my mother has given her a big bag of goodies, so I suggested we have that for dinner. So Little Moon can have a rest.

Even I wanted her to rest she went on sorting our clothes and washing them and arranging the master suite with our clothes. This task took her about two hours. My phone rang at the same time,

"HI, Su"

"Are you back here or still with her?"

"No we both came here. I plan to stay for the next two months here."

"Did you get everything ready for the reception? Do you need any help?"

"Everything is going along as planned, I even got a big white thingy too"

"Huh!!! what, do you mean a grand piano?"

"Yes, did you forget it's a surprise?"

"Oh... she's nearby is it?"

"Yes, are you free tomorrow?"

"Hmm I do have a rehearsal near your place tomorrow but after that I am free."

"Come around here for lunch then, I will introduce her"

"Ok, I will, would you like some wine with your lunch?"

"She doesn't have alcohol so maybe bring some chocolates."

By the time I ended the call LIttle Moon was preparing us evening tea. I went and hugged her from behind.

"What are you up to. So mysterious" she said.

"I just miss you every second when you are not with me."

"Seems like you need some tonic or something"

"Yes, I do.. but I have to wait till a special day to receive my medicine."

She just shook her head in disbelief.

I scooped her up in bridal style and took her to a hidden room behind the bookcase.

"Open it"

As she opened it I said "Surprise" to reveal to her the special workroom I had prepared. THis room had everything she needs to do her work and this opens up to the great view of the sea.

"Thank you," she said.

And I caught her off guard to give a kiss and to make myself sure, she is really standing front of me.
