The enormity of the attack thrilled Kuro. The sense of real danger, the excitement of facing such a monumental challenge, made his heart race. The word that had been echoing in his mind since his fight with the Nomu resurfaced—Magnificent.1
As Todoroki's voice broke through the icy haze, he spoke with a newfound sense of conviction, words laced with both clarity and intensity. "Y'know, Kurokami, for all the hatred I've held toward my father, it's true—I'm his 'Masterpiece.' But not because of him. I want to surpass All Might on my terms, and I won't stop for anyone in my way."
His icy breath swirled around him like a winter storm as he advanced, determination etched on his face. "I won't lie—what you did with my father? That helped me. But now, I'm going to crush you."
As Todoroki's ice spread across the arena, Kuro felt the chill creeping into his bones. He cracked his knuckles and stretched as if relishing the challenge before him.
The icy battlefield was beautiful in a way, shimmering under the stadium lights, but Kuro knew that staying in place for too long would be his undoing. Already, his breaths came out in faint clouds, the cold biting at his skin.
"Masterpiece, huh?" Kuro repeated, his voice loud and clear despite the chaos of the match. He grinned, baring his teeth like an animal about to pounce. "Well then, show me what perfection can do. Don't disappoint me, Todoroki."
Todoroki didn't answer with words, but his actions spoke volumes. A spear of ice shot from the ground at Kuro, forcing him to dodge sideways, narrowly avoiding the sharp edge.
Without further hesitation, Kuro surged forward, dashing straight at Todoroki, whose eyes narrowed in concentration. He deftly dodged Kuro's initial assault and stomped the ground, sending jagged spears of ice shooting toward Kuro. Kuro dodged fluidly, each movement calculated, but Todoroki was relentless, maintaining the pressure as he methodically lowered the temperature around them.
The arena was quickly transforming into Todoroki's domain, the temperature plummeting as the entire stadium floor was turned into a frozen wasteland. Ice crept up every pillar, and the air was thick with cold vapor. Kuro's breath fogged as he dodged another ice spike, the frost slowly creeping up his body, sapping his energy.
The fight was broadcast to the roaring crowd, with Present Mic's voice hyping the atmosphere. "LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, THIS IS THE BATTLE YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR! TODOROKI SHOTO, WITH HIS ICE CONTROL, IS TURNING THIS ARENA INTO A FROZEN FORTRESS, BUT KUROKAMI TENSHIN IS HOLDING HIS OWN WITH THAT INCREDIBLE DODGING!"
Aizawa's voice cut through the commentary, his tone more measured. "Todoroki's strategy is clear—he's lowering the temperature, slowing Kurokami down. If this continues, Kurokami will lose steam. He has to find a way to disrupt Todoroki's control of the field, or this match is over."
Meanwhile, in the arena, Kuro could feel the weight of the ice pulling at him, slowing him. The frozen terrain was making it harder to keep his momentum. His grin never wavered, though. If anything, the creeping cold only fueled his resolve. "Magnificent! You're giving me everything you've got, Mortal!" Kuro's voice echoed through the stadium, filled with admiration. "But I know you have more. Show me!"
Todoroki's eyes narrowed at Kuro's taunt, and he responded in kind. With a flick of his wrist, a massive column of ice erupted from the ground beneath Kuro, threatening to engulf him. Kuro dodged with a well-timed leap, but Todoroki wasn't done. As Kuro landed, another wave of ice followed, and soon, Kuro found himself momentarily trapped, frozen in a block of ice.
For a moment, the crowd gasped, thinking it might be over.
Todoroki followed up immediately with another wave of ice, each step he took freezing the ground beneath him. Kuro knew the longer the fight went on, the worse his chances got. The cold was relentless, seeping into his muscles, slowing him down little by little.
But that only made his grin widen.
Kuro charged forward, his "Base" form enhancing his speed and power. Todoroki dodged the first flurry of punches, barely moving as if Kuro's attacks were anticipated. But Kuro wasn't a one-note fighter. He quickly adjusted, striking low with a sweeping kick, aiming to disrupt Todoroki's balance. Todoroki jumped back, summoning a spire of ice to block Kuro's follow-up strike, but Kuro shattered the ice with a powerful blow.
Todoroki raised his hand, ice spreading from his fingertips in response, creating a wall between them. "You can't keep up with the cold, Kurokami," Todoroki said, his voice calm and collected. "Soon enough, you'll slow down."
Kuro tilted his head, rolling his shoulders as if the cold didn't bother him. "Maybe. But you better hope that happens soon, or I'll crack that ice of yours wide open." His eyes gleamed with a dangerous excitement. "I'm just getting warmed up."
As the battle raged, Kuro noticed how Todoroki's strategy was based on controlling the field, using his quirk to keep him at a distance. The ice was a problem, yes, but Kuro wasn't the type to give in so easily. His mind raced as he considered his options. The more Todoroki used his ice, the colder the arena became, but there was a solution to that. Kuro glanced at the sky, at the faint sunlight peeking through the clouds.
That's it.
"Masterpiece, huh?" Kuro mocked again, taking a deep breath. His feet skidded on the icy surface as he dodged another attack. "Seems like you're relying on just one-half of your perfection, Todoroki."
Todoroki's eyes narrowed, and Kuro knew he had hit a nerve. "I told you before, I won't use his flames."
Kuro shrugged, dodging another spear of ice. "That's fine by me, but it looks like you're already falling behind. You can't beat me at half-strength."
Todoroki didn't respond, but Kuro could see the tension in his expression. He was conflicted, just like before. Endeavor's shadow loomed over him, and Kuro had no patience for it.
"Come on, Todoroki!" Kuro shouted, his voice carrying across the stadium. "This isn't about him anymore! If you want to beat me, you're going to need more than ice."
Present Mic's voice boomed over the speakers, "KUROKAMI IS PUSHING TODOROKI TO HIS LIMIT! WILL WE SEE THOSE FLAMES?"
In the faculty room, All Might leaned forward, eyes glued to the screen. "Todoroki... what will you choose?"
Aizawa's monotone voice offered analysis, "Kurokami's goading is working. He's trying to force Todoroki to unlock his full potential. If he doesn't... this fight might be over sooner than we think."
Todoroki clenched his fists, frustration bubbling beneath his calm exterior. Kuro's relentless energy was infectious, stirring something within him. He wanted to win, but he had always held back his fire. It was a constant reminder of his father's control, of the path he didn't want to follow.
But here, now, against Kurokami, holding back felt wrong.
...
As Kuro broke free from yet another layer of ice, he surveyed the battlefield, now an almost unrecognizable expanse of frozen terrain. The icy domain, sculpted by Todoroki's relentless offense, seemed to stretch endlessly, enveloping the stadium. The temperature had plummeted, and even Kuro, with his enhanced endurance, felt the biting cold seeping into his bones.
Todoroki stood atop a towering ice pillar, his expression focused, and determined. This fight was more than just a battle—it was a statement, a declaration of his strength and identity. "Let's see how you get past this, Kurokami," Todoroki murmured to himself, watching as the massive block of ice, easily the size of a small building, began its slow descent toward Kuro.
In the stands, Present Mic's voice boomed with excitement. "WHAAAAT IS THIS??? TODOROKI JUST SUMMONED A GIANT ICEBERG IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ARENA! I CAN'T BELIEVE WHAT I'M SEEING!" His enthusiasm echoed through the stadium, the crowd roaring with anticipation.
Aizawa, however, wasn't as easily impressed. His eyes narrowed as he analyzed the situation. "It's a risky move. If Kurokami doesn't respond quickly, that ice block will force him out of bounds." He sipped his coffee, though even he couldn't deny the sheer scale of Todoroki's power. "But knowing Kurokami, he'll have a counter."
Kuro's eyes glinted as he looked up at the massive chunk of ice descending toward him. His heart raced with excitement—this was it. This was the challenge he'd been waiting for. His grin widened, and the word that had been echoing in his mind throughout the battle resurfaced. Magnificent.
"Splendid! You've done amazing, Shoto Todoroki!" Kuro shouted, his voice carrying through the cold air. "You've given me no choice but to respond in kind."
Kuro extended his hand, and a small, pulsating sphere of purple energy appeared just above his palm—his signature "Ki." It shimmered, growing in intensity as he focused more of his energy into it, feeding it until the sphere began to radiate a dangerous light. The crowd quieted, sensing the tension building in the air. Even Todoroki, from his icy perch, narrowed his eyes, his focus on the glowing orb in Kuro's hand.
"A ranged attack?" Todoroki muttered to himself. "If Kurokami hasn't used it yet, it means it's either his trump card or it's too costly to use casually. Knowing him, it's probably the latter…"
Kuro, fully aware of the weight of the moment, reached into his pocket and pulled out a matchstick. The crowd, unsure of what to expect, watched in stunned silence as he swiftly struck the match against another, creating a tiny spark of fire. Kuro then pressed the small flame against the "Ki" orb, and to everyone's amazement, the purple energy began to morph, its hue shifting into a vibrant, fiery orange. Flames danced around the sphere, swirling with an almost sentient hunger.
From the stands, All Might leaned forward, his eyes wide with concern. "What is Young Tenshin planning? That much energy in one place... It could cause serious damage if not controlled."
Principal Nezu, sitting nearby, simply smiled, intrigued. "It's always interesting to see how the young ones push their limits, isn't it?"
Back in the arena, Kuro's voice cut through the air, loud and clear. "I'll name this move… Divine Wrath. Yes, that sounds fitting." His grin widened, and with a casual flick of his wrist, the now-enlarged sphere of fire shot upward, aimed directly at Todoroki's descending iceberg.
The moment the fiery orb collided with the massive block of ice, the temperature in the stadium seemed to spike. A sizzling sound filled the air as steam erupted from the impact, the ice beginning to melt rapidly. But Kuro wasn't done. "Expand," he said, and as if obeying his command, the fiery sphere began to grow exponentially, doubling, tripling in size as it continued to push against the ice.
The crowd gasped, their eyes locked on the scene. Flames and ice clashed in a spectacular display of power, the sheer force of the collision shaking the ground beneath them. Steam billowed into the sky, obscuring the view for a moment, but the roar of the battle continued, filling the stadium with deafening noise.
From his vantage point, Todoroki watched, eyes wide as his once-mighty ice creation began to crack and splinter under the heat of Kuro's attack. "He's breaking through…"
...
...
As Todoroki stood in the middle of the scorched battlefield, his mind raced. His hands trembled slightly, not from the intensity of the fight, but from the sight of her—his mother, Rei Todoroki. She sat in the stands, pale but present, alongside Fuyumi and Natsuo, her eyes focused intently on him. The sight of her shattered his usual steely resolve. She wasn't supposed to be here, not now, not after everything. Why had she come? Was it because of his father? Because Endeavor had changed? Or... was it because of him?
A cold wave of dread crashed over him, his thoughts spiraling. Did she come to see him fight? To witness him wielding the flames he swore he would never use? The flames that mirrored the very source of his torment? Todoroki's breath quickened. The flames flickering on his left side wavered. No, no, this wasn't right.
Todoroki's eyes darted back to the battlefield, panic settling in. He had to pull himself together, but the weight of his mother's gaze bore down on him like an anchor. His father may have been a demon in his life, but his mother's presence, after all these years, seemed even more unsettling. Why now? Why does she have to see this?
Kuro, floating nearby and ever observant, noticed Todoroki's strange shift in demeanor. His normally stoic classmate seemed off, lost in a mental fog. Kuro drifted closer, concern creeping into his otherwise calm expression. "Todoroki!" he called out, voice cutting through the tension. "You okay? You're looking... different. Need a break or something?"
Todoroki blinked, realizing Kuro was in front of him. He forced a breath out, trying to steady himself. "I... tend to overthink things sometimes." He shook his head, offering an apologetic smile as he pushed aside the looming thoughts of his mother. "Sorry about that."
Kuro accepted the apology, though he didn't fully understand what had happened. "No problem!" he responded, grinning in his usual carefree way. But the exchange between them was brief. The tension still hung in the air, thick and foreboding.
In the faculty room, All Might stood beside Aizawa and Cementoss, watching the screen intently. "Cementoss," All Might began, concern lacing his words, "is everything ready in case we need to intervene?"
Cementoss, the ever-vigilant protector of the stadium, nodded. "Already set, No. 1. I'm preparing barriers just in case things get out of hand." His calm demeanor contrasted with the growing tension in the arena.
In the heart of the ice, Kuro cracked a smile, even as his body shivered from the cold. "Splendid, Todoroki. You've done amazing." His eyes glinted with excitement as he stared up at the massive block. "I guess I should respond in kind, huh?"
Kuro extended his hand, and a small orb of Ki appeared, glowing faintly in the freezing air. The sphere of energy pulsed as it grew, Kuro feeding more of his power into it. Todoroki, watching from atop one of the stadium's frozen pillars, frowned. "A ranged attack? He's been holding back this entire time. It must take a lot out of him to use it..."
Kuro reached into his pocket, pulling out a matchstick. With a flick of his wrist, he lit the match, holding it to the growing ball of Ki. As the small flame touched the energy, the ball of Ki began to glow a brilliant red, flames swirling around its surface. The cold of the stadium seemed to retreat as the heat from Kuro's attack intensified.
"I'll name this one..." Kuro murmured to himself, "Divine Wrath."
The flame-covered orb expanded, growing larger and larger with each passing second. The air around Kuro shimmered with heat as he prepared to unleash the full force of his attack. The colossal ice block loomed above, seconds away from crushing him. Kuro didn't flinch. Instead, he smirked and looked up at Todoroki with a glint in his eye. "Let's see which one of us breaks first."
With a final push, Kuro sent the massive ball of flaming Ki hurtling upward toward the descending ice.
In the faculty room, All Might be tensed. "Cementoss, prepare for impact!"
The audience watched in stunned silence as the two opposing forces collided mid-air. The sheer heat of Kuro's Divine Wrath melted the edges of Todoroki's ice block on contact. Steam hissed and billowed as the fireball clashed with the frozen mass. For a moment, it seemed as though the two attacks were evenly matched.
But then the Ki ball expanded again, the flames roaring as they consumed more of the ice. Cracks splintered through the ice block, the heat overwhelming the structure. With a deafening crack, the ice began to shatter, pieces breaking off and plummeting to the ground below.
Todoroki's eyes widened in disbelief. "He's overpowering it?!"
The sky erupted into a brilliant explosion of steam, fire, and shards of ice. The crowd gasped, shielding their eyes from the blinding light. When the steam cleared, the stadium was left in ruins, the arena floor scorched and littered with chunks of melted ice.
At the center of the battlefield, Kuro stood, breathing heavily but still grinning. His clothes were torn, and his body was battered from the exertion, but he remained standing. "Magnificent."
Todoroki, who had managed to shield himself from the explosion, watched from his perch. He clenched his fists. "He broke through..."
Midnight's voice cut through the stunned silence. "The match... continues!"
[P.S. During this chapter, I accidently mixed up the words and now I'm not sure, if I put the scenes in the wrong order, feel free to tell me where I messed up.]

Quirk: "Ki"
Kurokami Tenshin's quirk allows him to harness and manipulate Ki, a form of life energy that grants him enhanced physical abilities, flight, and the ability to use various specialized techniques/forms. His "Ki" takes on a distinct light purple color and can be shaped or condensed for various purposes.
Forms
Each form is designed to focus on different aspects of his quirk, from defense to offensive power, with some forms combining multiple traits. His forms are specialized techniques where his Ki is channeled and applied in different ways.
1. Base Form
Description: This is Kuro's normal state when not actively channeling his "Ki" into any specific form. In this state, Kuro uses "Ki" to enhance his overall physical capabilities, including strength, speed, agility, and reflexes.
Function: Low energy consumption, balanced enhancement across the board.
2. Condense
Description: In this form, Kuro condenses his "Ki" into specific parts of his body, focusing the energy for greater impact and control in close combat.
Function: By concentrating his "Ki" into his fists, legs, or other limbs, his strikes become much more devastating, as the energy is concentrated into smaller areas. The condensed "Ki" also increases the durability of those areas, allowing him to take more powerful hits or block attacks more effectively.
3. Flux
Description: A fusion of both Base and Condense, "Flux" is Kuro's most powerful form, where his Ki fluctuates wildly around his body, boosting all of his abilities to their peak in exchange for rapidly draining his energy reserves.
Function: In Flux, Kuro achieves his strongest state, gaining overwhelming strength, speed, and durability. However, the form drains his "Ki" at an accelerated rate, making it a last-resort or high-stakes form, used only when he must finish a fight quickly.
4. Flight/Levitation
Description: Kuro uses his Ki to levitate or fly by imagining invisible steps beneath his feet or channeling his energy around his body to defy gravity.
Function: This ability is still developing, and while Kuro can hover and move through the air, his flight isn't as fast or controlled as he would like. It can be used in conjunction with his other forms to enhance his mobility in combat or to dodge attacks from unexpected angles.
Techniques
These are specific moves that Kuro developed using his quirk to further enhance his combat capabilities.
1. Ki Burst
Description: A concentrated release of Ki energy from any part of his body, usually his fists or legs, which Kuro uses for sudden bursts of speed or power.
Function: This technique allows Kuro to move quickly over short distances, akin to teleporting, or to strike with enhanced impact by releasing the stored energy in a single burst. It's useful for dodging or delivering surprise attacks.
2. Ki Punch/Ki Kick
Description: A standard attack where Kuro channels Ki into his fists or legs, enhancing the power of his strikes.
Function: By focusing Ki into a specific limb, Kuro can deliver a much stronger blow than he could normally, breaking through defenses or dealing significant damage to stronger opponents. The more Ki condensed into the strike, the more destructive the attack becomes.
3. Ki Shield {This Is Not Currently Possessed By Kuro Yet}
Description: A defensive technique where Kuro surrounds part of his body (or sometimes his entire body) with condensed Ki to form a protective barrier.
Function: The Ki Shield can absorb and deflect attacks, reducing the damage Kuro takes in battle. The more energy he pours into the shield, the stronger it becomes, though it drains Ki quickly if used for extended periods or against powerful attacks.
4. Ki Blast
Description: A ranged attack where Kuro releases condensed Ki in the form of an explosive projectile.
Function: Kuro shapes his Ki into a small orb, hurling it at enemies. Upon impact, the Ki Bomb explodes, dealing widespread damage in an area around the target. It's highly effective for crowd control or creating distance between himself and enemies.
5. Ki Slam
Description: A close-range, high-impact move where Kuro channels Ki into both hands or legs and delivers a heavy, downward strike, designed to knock an opponent off their feet.
Function: This move is particularly useful for breaking through an opponent's defenses or pinning them down with a powerful shockwave generated by the impact. The Ki Slam can also be used to destroy terrain or obstacles in his path.
6. Ki Wave2
Description: A medium-range attack where Kuro unleashes a wave of Ki energy in a wide arc in front of him.
Function: This wave of Ki is less concentrated than a Ki Blast, but it covers a larger area, making it useful for clearing a path or knocking back multiple enemies. The attack isn't as damaging as his more focused techniques but is effective for area control.
Efficiency vs. Power: Kuro has a natural instinct for balancing energy use. While some techniques are short, powerful bursts, others can be sustained for a longer time, depending on how he distributes his Ki. The trade-off between raw power and energy efficiency is a constant consideration in battle.
Last-Resort Form: Flux is a highly dangerous form due to how quickly it drains Ki, making it a trump card that Kuro can only use briefly before his reserves are depleted. It represents a "final stand" strategy.
Evolving: Kuro's abilities with Ki are still evolving. He continues to train to refine his flight abilities, control his energy more precisely, and develop more advanced forms.
