Within the confines of a dimly lit room full of what looked to be expensive laboratory equipment, a dark-haired man in a lab coat single-mindedly hunched over his desk as his hands swiftly managed the various pieces of technology and chemicals near him.
He turned a knob that ignited a mild but concentrated flame to boil the strange mixture as he hummed at the sight of three different coloured substances placed neatly near him.
"Hmm... What to choose..." He hummed to himself with a light smile, well aware of the risk of being all willy-nilly with these dangerous chemicals but still having a casual attitude as he tapped to the beat of the song coming out of his headphones.
However, in spite of his seemingly undisturbed and lax attitude in regard to the danger at hand, the man still retained a serious look in his eyes as he continued to expertly operate everything on the table with the utmost efficiency and skill.
After all, he had been working in this lab for several years now and was well-equipped to handle practically anything scientifically related.
Unfortunately, with an extreme amount of time spent cooped up in the lab working on whatever wacky little idea happened to pop into his head, came an equally as extreme lack of social skills that practically cripple his ability to form meaningful connections with other people.
Granted, he wasn't some kind of dense fool who would panic at the thought of speaking and do dumb stuff because of a lack of awareness. Rather, he simply just didn't understand many of the traditional societal norms and social cues that would be expected of him.
Mainly because he didn't care enough to try to actively overcome his "flaws" and would much rather embrace these innate, obsessive traits and concentrate that single-mindedness into his work.
For example, he was frequently played for a fool by subtle sarcasm, but he still had a firm grasp on the casual sort that was used in comedy.
But he was also increasingly confused by the incessant need for most of humanity to use innuendos and be unnecessarily subtle with certain things that he believes don't need to be like emotional turmoil.
Not to mention their incessant need to hide things for no reason at all like feelings of affection for another person that, if you follow what they want and ask, they won't tell you about.
It was absolutely absurd and just completely unnecessary in every way.
"Alright, be careful now..." He muttered in a whisper, biting his lip nervously as he cautiously removed the newly formed green substance from the complex machinery and placed it into a holder.
Sighing in relief at the success of his little experiment, the man dropped back into his chair and pushed himself toward another desk as he grabbed a previously formed device.
The man wheeled his way back to the liquid and cautiously set the device up between two bars, grabbing a pair of clamps as he clenched the liquid mixture in its grasp.
'I'm a genius...' He grinned.
And indeed he was.
The world that Erich Stringer, the scientist, resided in was a world with an intense focus on the thing known as science.
Though still known as the planet Earth, it was just a tad bit more technologically advanced and actively attempted to assist in the development of young, talented, scientific minds.
Unfortunately, due to being under the poverty line, Erich didn't really have that chance and had to forge his way through the ranks to be noticed by higher-ups by advancing in an aspect of science that society had begun to ignore in favour of more societally beneficial parts such as technology.
The aspect in question was Biological/Genetic studies in which he made strides in the field that impressed the people up top enough for them to sponsor him with enough resources to continue making leaps and bounds as a scientific genius.
Flash forward to the future and Erich managed to achieve independence from the government and other related companies so that he could continue his own operations on his own turf under his own rules while making inventions for himself and not to feed the greedy corporations that originally propped him up.
But, again, unfortunately, along with the development of scientific technology, many of the societal issues of old increased immensely in impact. Which is why the previously poor people became completely impoverished and the people with higher status and more money stayed up top.
Overall, Erich was pretty smart in almost every category but specialized mainly in the fields of Biology/Genetics and Chemistry due to his exceptional talent in those fields with a minor specialization in physical science like technology that he learned in school and improved upon.
Unfortunately, the big guys didn't like him having so much independence while they still had to supply him with resources so they planned to completely cut him off and take all of his research.
And so, Erich decided to do one last little thing before losing his status in what he referred to as the Shit Planet.
The reason? It was shit.
Now, back to the matter at hand... What was he planning on doing exactly?
Well, he was going to initiate his greatest plan yet. He was going to attempt to create some sort of bio-nuclear contraption built around a genetics-based, bio-chemical, viral, mutational liquid solution with the intent of selling it to the highest bidder.
It didn't matter who got his creation. All he needed was the money and he didn't care if he died as a result of a nuclear fallout.
His only goal was to enjoy his life, however short it may be, with the utmost comfort.
Of course, that doesn't mean that this was the only reason he wished to create the invention. The main reason was actually just the self-satisfaction of achieving his peak in the realms of scientific advancement.
It was going to be his most ambitious project yet and, in order to succeed, it would require immense focus and the skill of a great scientist. Luckily, he had both.
But the thought of risking his life to create the greatest thing he could ever achieve was just too tantalizing to resist. Besides, he had begun to get bored, so it would be best to risk it all now.
"Steady now..." He muttered distractedly, pouring the toxic chemical into the contraption as it snapped shut and charged up with an acidic-green light.
Erich stood still in a defensive posture for a few minutes as the poisonous glow eventually recede into a calmer tone, not noticing the small crack in the metal.
"Oh my god, YES! Thank god it didn't explode..." He cried out in joy as he rushed towards the invention and grabbed it off the bars.
"I fucking did i--!"
*BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM*
*BOOM*
*Boom*
*Sizzle*
Nothing but the distorted remnants of Erich's skeleton were left on this earthly plain.

"Waaahhh!"
A young voice cried out in pain as a girl's tired hand rested upon the bottom of its head in an attempt at calming it down.
By the looks of the girl, she seemed to just have gone through a painful situation involving the screaming child in her lap.
Not to mention her apparent young age in comparison to most women who have undergone pregnancy and the birth of a child.
Though she didn't seem to be young enough for it to be classified as horrifying, she was still way too young for her pregnancy to be on purpose.
The baby who was initially crying its heart out opened its eyes and reached out to its mother as she leaned her head in close as if her other hand was occupied.
"Yuzuki..." She muttered with a forced smile while averting her eyes only for another small voice to cry out.
She turned to the source of the noise and gained a grimace at the resemblance to a certain someone.
"Riku..." She spoke with more distaste than she intended.
The male child looked up at her with strange, dual yellow and green eyes that shone with untold intelligence.
Held carefully yet apprehensively within the shaking arms of their young mother, the two children remained quiet, the female childishly waving her hands as the male continued to stare curiously.
"Miss Yuki Hibino?" A professional voice called out, a doctor walking into the room casually as the newly identified Yuki turned her gaze to him.
"Uh, yes, sir?" She said meekly as the man in front of her gave her a blank look and spoke his answer.
"I suggest we speak on your... situation..." He said vaguely as Yuki nodded and gestured to the kids with her, "W- What should I do with them?"
"They're babies, what are they gonna do?" He rolled his eyes.
After hesitantly nodding at the doctor, Yuki and the man began their conversation, completely unaware of the conscious baby watching and listening to their every move and word.
'I fuckin' nuked myself...' The strange baby muttered within his mind, 'Goddammit...! Just when I thought that I finally did it...'
'How in the hell did this happen... Is this actually reincarnation?' He inquired dubiously as he continued listening in on the conversation while reconnecting his thoughts.
"Miss Hibino, do you mind sharing who the father is?" He requested as kindly as he could, Yuki gaining a hesitant look as the male baby suddenly began to feel much more lethargic.
The other twin was already passed out in Yuki's lap but Erich, now Riku, was attempting to persevere so that he could catch the details of their conversation.
"Well, um... His name was..."
However, due to the extreme fragility of his newly born body and the incredible exhaustion that had been building up, his eyes drifted shut and he lost consciousness.
"That's all I want to say right now."
"Alright. Now, you have a choice to make, Yuki..."
