Chapter 39: The Bus Ride There

The next day comes around and class 1-A are sat looking at Aizawa at the podium

He scratches his stubbly chin and begins Homeroom with a sigh "Today's training will be a little different. You'll have three instructors. Me, All Might, and another faculty member will be keeping tabs on you..."

Hitoshi raises a hand "What kinda training is this going to be?"

Aizawa holds up a card like All Might did before, only this one reads- "Rescue. You'll be dealing with natural disasters, shipwrecks, stuff like that."

The Students chatter excitedly

Kaminari leans back in his chair "Disasters, huh? Sounds like we're in for a big workout"

"Totally!" Mina pumps her fists

Kirishima leans forward in his seat "Real hero stuff. This is what separates the men from the boys" he clenches his fists "I'm shakin' with excitement!"

Tsu stares forward thoughtfully "Finally, I'll get to show off how good I am in water! Ribbit"

Aizawa doesn't look impressed "Guys, I'm not finished yet..."

The class gulp and pay attention again

"What you wear in this exercise is up to you. I know you're excited about costumes..." He looks to the wall and presses a remote in his hand, with a beep the costume racks start sliding out the wall again

"But keep in mind that you haven't gotten used to them yet, and they might limit your abilities. This special training's at an off‐campus facility, so we'll be taking a bus to get there" he turns and heads for the door "That's all. Start getting ready..." He leaves the room

Hitomi sighs 'Rescue training... My weakness are extreme temperatures and seeing long distances... Let's see how I do, overcoming weakness is the whole point of this'

She stands "Ok everyone! Glad to see we haven't rushed the costumes this time, Shoji can you please get the one's on the top shelves down for us?"

The masked boy looks at her, then up at the high cases, then back to Hitomi and then nods

"That's how to be a team player, thank you" she smiles and takes her own case as she can reach it herself

Shoji stretches his limbs up and takes down the top shelf cases before handing them out to their owners

Hitomi sticks around until everyone has their case "Ok, Tenya I'll see you and the other boys outside"

He stands to attention "Yes Class Rep!"

She chuckles as she and the rest of the girls head out "At ease soldier"

Upon reaching the changing room Hitomi decides to wear her full costume and manages to get changed into it without needing to submerge herself in her analysis mode...

After everyone's changed Mina pokes Hitomi's unguarded shoulder "How'd you get so good at resisting our feminine charms?"

"Pure skill my dear Mina, pure skill" she smirks

[A few nights prior, after the day of All Might's Battle class]

Gunhead, wearing stripped pyjamas with a matching nightcap and his Gunmask, carrying a teddy bear wearing the same as him including the mask, opens the door of his dojo, after there had been continuous banging on it for the past five minutes "What do you want!? It's the middle of the-!? Night...? Hitomi...?"

Hitomi drops to her knees and bows! "Master! Teach me how to stay composed around naked women! Please! I'm begging you! My life depends on it!"

He sighs and scratches the back of his head... "Somethin' tells me this'll be a long night..."

[Back to the present as the girls walk down the hall]

"Pure skill..."

Mina raises an eyebrow "Uhhh huh..."

They get outside where most of the boys are stood waiting near the bus

Tenya strides up to them "The majority of male students are accounted for class rep!"

Hitomi chuckles "Talk to you girls in a minute" she leads Tenya off to the side "Look Tenya... The enthusiasm you're showing is great... But you need to relax"

He frowns "I don't un-"

"It's a classroom not a military camp. I can see you're quite a... Ridged individual, but there's no need to be so stiff with me..." She rests a hand on his shoulder "Call me Hitomi... And talk to me, don't just report to me... Ok...?"

"But I..." He sighs "I understand... I apologise for my actions..."

"You've done nothing to apologise for... This is just so you don't get stressed out by self imposed behaviour..."

"I thank you for your concern!" He bows low "You are truly the best suited to be Class Representative"

'Oh Tenya... Never change too much buddy' "Thank you Tenya... That means a lot" she smiles

"If I may" he stands straight "I took the liberty of drafting up a plan to get people on the bus in an orderly fashion, may I implement it?"

'Hmm... An orderly way to sort people into an open layout bus? It can't just be a single file line, I'm interested' "Seeing as you've worked on it already then feel free to do it, make sure to double check everything before beginning" she gives him a thumbs up "You have my approval!"

"Thank you very much!" He bows again "Hitomi" he stands with a smile and marches away

"That worked out well, he's gonna be a great Vice president" she turns to go and mingle with the crowd but stops when she sees Toru coming towards her... Still wearing her white cloak

Hitomi gulps... As she knows what lay beneath that cloak...

"H-hi Hitomi..." She gathers her cloak more around herself

"H-hey Toru... Still got the cloak eh?" She focuses on Toru's face as much as possible

She blushes and glances down at herself "Yeah... Mina keeps calling it a bedsheet and saying I'm doing a walk of shame... It's really embarrassing..."

"I'll talk to her about it for you... I am both of your superior after all" she smiles

"Yeah you are" she giggles "Thanks for approving me as Assistant Historan"

"I think you'll do great in that role" she notices... Toru kinda zones out of the conversation at this point... "Uhh... You ok...?"

She smacks her cheeks through the cloak suddenly and fixes Hitomi with a strong gaze "I h-have a question!"

"Uhhh..." She blinks a few times "Sure?"

"W-w-would... U-um... W-would y-you..." She fidgets nervously...

"W-would I... What...?" 'What is she gonna ask me...!? Why am I freaking out!?' Hitomi keeps a smile stuck to her face Buuuut she's starting to panic inside

"Would you like to sit with me on the bus!?" Toru half yells out of her desperate need to get her words out

Hitomi tilts her head "Th-the bus...?"

"Y-yeah... I... Wanna sit together..." She looks up at her while blushing "Please...?"

Hitomi's heart melts and she smiles for real... "Of course we can sit together... I'd love that..."

As Toru's nervous face lights up in a smile they hear the blast of a whistle and turn to see Tenya stood next to the bus blowing the whistle

"Gather around, Class 1‐A! Using your student numbers" he chops in front of himself "Form two neat lines so we can load the bus efficiently!"

Toru frowns "But isn't the bus... Open lay- Hitomi!?"

Hitomi quickly rushes up to Tenya "Tenyaaaa..."

He stops blowing his whistle and turns to her "Yes Class Re- Hitomi?"

She smiles kindly "Remember I said double check everything...?"

"Indeed! Wise words as usual and I did just that! I checked everybody was present, the amount of space provided around the vehicle, the size of the vehicle entrance, the weight capacity of the vehicle-" he keeps going

"Tenya!" He stops and looks at her "Look inside the bus"

He frowns and cups his hands around his eyes while pressing against the bus window... Hitomi sees him stiffen in shock!

He steps back and sighs... "I see... Quite a large oversight on my part..."

"You're new at this Tenya... It's my fault as your superior for not checking over your plan first of all..." She bows to him "I'm sorry..."

Tenya gets emotional with tears gathering in his eyes 'S-so considerate! Truly a worthy class representative!' he sets his feet "No! You are also new to your position! The fault lies with me and I humbly accept my blunder and will use it as a learning opportunity"

She stands straight with a smile "Then I shall do the same, you took this well Vice Representative Ida, now!" She smacks the side of the bus "Let's load this thing"

Tenya smiles and starts blowing his whistle and waving at everyone! "Everybody form a single file line and make your way onto the bus in an orderly fashion! Sit where you like!"

As the Students start loading into the bus Hitomi returns to Toru "Sorry for just dashing off..."

"No no it's fine!" She shakes her hands under her cloak "You handled it really well"

"Thank you..." They smile at each other as they make their way to the back of the line

They board and find that Mina saved them a pair seat in the back of the bus "You two have fuuuuun" she hops out of the seat and goes and sits next to Aoyama in the open section

"Y-you can have the window seat Hitomi" she presses her index fingertips together between her cloak

"If you're sure... Thank you" she takes her seat but Toru stays standing "Toru?"

The visible invisible girl smiles and leans down to her "Hiya! Can I sit here?"

"Huh? Of course you-" 'Wait... Isn't this...?' she glances around 'Back seat with me in the corner...' she smiles 'My edge mode failed meeee...' "This is how we met..."

"Yaaaay you got it!" She giggles and sits down next to her "I had no idea you could see me at that time, bet some of what I said was confusing eh?"

"Yeah it was, but I wasn't gonna ask anything as I didn't wanna draw attention to myself" she mimes pulling a hood over her head

"And now look at you, class rep and one of the resident badasses" she punches under the cloak

"Badasses?" She folds her arms and smiles

"W-well yeah... You're really cool... And strong... And skilled... And tall... And kind..." She blushes and looks at her crush "You're a really great person Hitomi..."

Hitomi feels her face burning... Not expecting all the compliments "Toru..."

"Hitomi...! I... I..." She leans closer to her with a determined look in her eyes "I like-"

"Huh!? What'd you say!? I'll kick your ass!!" Bakugo yells!

Toru yelps in fear and clings to Hitomi out of instinct!

"Oh what the hell Bakugo." Hitomi growls and sits up, to see what's going on

Kaminari has a finger raised making a point "-So it's kinda telling that we all know your personality is flaming crap mixed with garbage" he shrugs

Bakugo lunges forward "You're gonna regret the day you applied to this school, you loser...!!"

Tenya bangs on his armour to get attention "Enough! As Classmates we should encourage each other"

Bakugo points at Kaminari "I'm gonna encourage this dumbass to explode!!"

"Wait, what did you say?" Kaminari snorts "Phrasing dude"

Bakugo growls and clenches his fist and teeth "Shut it sparky!"

"Alright you both need to apologise" Tenya folds his arms

Kaminari leans back and rests his hands behind his head "Sure, if he goes first"

Bakugo slams his fist on the bar in front of him "Like hell I will!"

Hitomi sighs... "Sorry Toru... Can we save what you were gonna say until later...?

She also sighs... "Yeah... Ok..."

And with that the bus arrives at the Unforseen Simulation Joint... Where nothing bad will happen at all!
