In the end, Momo's strategic thinking proved to be too much for Tetsutetsu to handle, as by the time he found out what the real attack was, it was too late, his rusted body was now filled with openings, and Momo used physical strength to break it further down.
Ultimately breaking his defence. With a final, decisive strike, she incapacitated Tetsutetsu, by throwing him out of the ring, securing her victory and advancing to the next round.
Following this the crowd applauded Momo for her strategy, while Tetsutetsu was taken to the recovery girl for healing.
"There will be a 15-minute break, till we prepare the stage," announced Aizawa, as it seemed someone locked Midnight in her room.
After the break, the semi-finals began with a match between Toji and Bakugo.
Toji stood confidently, a smirk playing on his lips, while Bakugo glared at him, fists clenched in frustration.
Toji's taunts hit Bakugo like a punch to the gut. "Ready to lose again, Boom boom boy? Or are you still too busy yelling and throwing explosions like a little girl?"
Bakugo's eyes narrowed into fiery slits, his anger simmering just beneath the surface. "Shut up, you damn nerd! I'll wipe that smirk off your face!"
With a surge of explosive energy, Bakugo charged at Toji, launching a relentless onslaught of explosive blasts. But Toji, with a casual flicker of his Lag quirk, teleported effortlessly out of Bakugo's path, reappearing behind him with a mocking grin plastered across his face.
"You're too slow, Bakugo! Is that the best you've got?" Toji taunted, dodging Bakugo's attacks with almost contemptuous ease.
Bakugo's frustration grew with each failed attempt to land a blow on Toji. He unleashed more explosive attacks, trying to catch Toji off guard, but Toji danced around the explosions like a cat toying with a mouse.
Toji's teleportation seemed like a cruel joke to Bakugo, who could only watch his opponent effortlessly evade his every move.
Seeing the chasing between Bakugo and Toji felt like a cat and mouse trail, which caused the audience to laugh seeing how Toji was playing with Bakugo.
"Freaking hell!" Bakugo seethed, feeling his temper flare as Toji continued to mock him. The more Bakugo tried to hit him, the more elusive Toji became.
Toji, relishing in Bakugo's frustration, teleported around him with blinding speed, landing quick, precise strikes to his sides, "What's the matter Boom boom boy, can't create any more explosion?" Taunted Toji with a smug look on his face.
"You're pathetic Bakugo!, It seems you ran out of your precious nitroglycerin, your quirk is so useless without your precious sweat." mocked Toji, listening to which Bakugo was surprised.
"How do you know about nitroglycerin, and that it's in my sweat?" Asked Bakugo in surprise.
"I know everything about your quirk Boom Boom Boy, and I also know all the ways to get rid of you and your useless quirk,"
Toji's taunting words cut deep into Bakugo's pride, fueling his frustration even further. 'How could this guy know so much about my quirk?' Bakugo wondered, feeling a mix of surprise and anger.
But there was no time to dwell on it. Bakugo gritted his teeth and charged at Toji again, unleashing a series of explosive blasts in rapid succession. Each blast erupted with ferocious power, sending shockwaves rippling through the air.
Toji, however, remained calm and collected, effortlessly dodging Bakugo's explosions with his teleportation. He danced around Bakugo like a ghost, taunting him with every dodge, while he was dodging this as fun, a small golden locket came out of his clothes.
The locket was something no one paid attention to, as Izuku casually put the locket inside his gym clothes. Still, Fuyumi who was intently watching the match, keeping her eye on Toji, had her eyes wide open as she realized something that brought memories of her past.
"You think you can beat me with those weak explosions? Pathetic," Toji sneered, his voice dripping with disdain.
Bakugo's frustration boiled over, his explosions becoming more erratic and aggressive as he attempted to land a hit on Toji. But Toji was always one step ahead, easily teleporting out of harm's way.
As the battle raged on, Bakugo's attacks grew more desperate, each explosion becoming more powerful than the last. But Toji remained unfazed, his mocking grin never faltering.
"What's the matter? Can't handle a real fight, you pussy?" tried mocking Bakugo as he was getting desperate.
In a final act of desperation, Bakugo unleashed a massive explosion, pouring all of his remaining energy into the attack. But Toji simply chuckled, teleporting behind Bakugo.
"Now we can fight," said Toji as he appeared in front of Bakugo in an instant and delivered a swift blow to his back.
Bakugo staggered forward, his strength waning as he struggled to stay upright. Toji then started punching Bakugo all around, not giving him time to retaliate, as the sweat wasn't coming anymore, he tried to gain his footing and fight back, but it was too late. With a powerful shove, Toji sent Bakugo hurtling out of the ring, securing his victory with ease.
As Bakugo lay defeated on the ground, his chest heaving with exertion, his pride was shattered by Toji's superior strength and taunting.
Toji stood over him, a triumphant smirk on his face. The crowd watched in stunned silence as Toji celebrated his victory, his mocking laughter echoing through the arena.
For Bakugo, it was a bitter defeat—one that would fuel his determination to come back stronger than ever before. But for now, he could only grit his teeth in frustration, vowing to one day defeat Toji and reclaim his pride.
After the intense battle between Toji and Bakugo, the crowd braced themselves for the next match between Maki and Momo. As the two students stepped onto the arena, there was a palpable tension.
But to everyone's surprise, before a single attack was exchanged, Momo spoke up, her voice echoing through the arena. "I forfeit."
Maki was going to say the same thing but was beaten to it by Momo.
The crowd erupted into a chorus of gasps and murmurs, shocked by Momo's unexpected declaration. Even Maki looked surprised, at how fast Momo was.
Momo continued, her tone calm but resolute. "I've realized that Maki's strength surpasses my own. I have no chance of winning this match, so there's no point in continuing."
Maki's eyes widened in disbelief, her mouth opening to protest, but Momo held up a hand to silence her. "Please understand, Maki. I don't mean to disrespect you in any way. I simply acknowledge your skill and strength." she winked at Maki.
The arena fell silent as Momo's words hung in the air, the weight of her decision sinking in. It was a rare display of humility and sportsmanship, one that left the crowd in awe.
'That's cheating, I was going to forfeit the match, why did you do that before me?' asked Maki to Momo through the mental chip.
Momo chuckled softly and teasingly said. "Well, you know what they say, Maki. You've got to be fast when the opportunity presents itself."
Maki couldn't help but smile at Momo teasing her, 'Yeah, I suppose you're right,' she conceded, as even though Maki is faster in terms of physical capabilities, Momo is faster when it comes to mind.
Suddenly, an idea dawned on Momo. 'You know, Maki, you could do the same thing when you face Toji in the final,' she suggested, her eyes glinting with determination and playfulness.
Maki's gaze met Momo's, a spark of hope igniting within her. 'That's not a bad idea,' she agreed, feeling a renewed sense of determination wash over her.
Meanwhile, Toji, who had been listening in on their conversation, couldn't help but sigh at these two girls, he decided to intervene, 'You know you guys are still on the ground in front of all the people, why don't you finish the dialogues of the stadium first before discussing all these things.'
To which both the girls gave an embarrassed chuckle as they nodded.
Maki, after a moment of stunned silence(for the whole public that is), nodded slowly, her expression softening. "Thank you, Momo. Your acknowledgment means a lot to me."
With that, the match was declared over, Maki declared the winner by default. As Momo stepped off the arena, the crowd erupted into applause, their admiration for both competitors evident.
While this was happening, the heroes and the public were having a jolly time at the sports festival, and a threat or many threats were just released for them, to make their time even merrier.
