The Osborne Group.
Harry was engrossed in official matters when his secretary informed him of someone claiming to be from SHIELD requesting to see him.
The idea of SHIELD reaching out to the Osborne Group felt odd. Historically, there had been no interaction between the two entities. So, why would SHIELD suddenly seek him out?
Could it be related to Doctor Octopus? Was SHIELD singling him out for trouble?
The more he pondered, the more unsettled he felt.
Deciding direct inquiry was best, he instructed his secretary to bring Christopher to his office.
Upon Christopher's arrival, Harry couldn't help but marvel at the man's imposing presence, exuding a rugged energy that seemed to command attention. SHIELD certainly wasn't holding back, sending such a formidable individual his way.
Though the Osborne Group ranked among the top ten in the United States and rivaled Stark Industries in strength, it didn't dare disregard SHIELD like Tony Stark often did. While arms weren't their primary focus, they still needed to maintain a cordial relationship with the agency.
Standing up, Harry gestured for Christopher to take a seat, greeting him warmly, "Please, have a seat."
Christopher settled into the office chair with a sense of dignity and addressed Harry, "I've come to discuss a potential collaboration with you."
Relieved that Christopher's visit didn't spell trouble, Harry smiled and inquired, "What sort of collaboration?"
"I require all the tritium elements from your Osborne Group," Christopher stated plainly.
Harry's expression shifted, his fingers drumming on the desk as he responded, "There's only 25 pounds of tritium in the world. Doctor Octopus depleted a significant portion during his last encounter, leaving our reserves depleted. If you want it all, what do you offer in return?"
"I can offer a cure for your family's hereditary disease," Christopher offered.
The mention of his family's genetic affliction caught Harry off guard. The Osborne family had grappled with this illness for generations, despite their wealth and intellect. The inability to conquer this hereditary scourge overshadowed any desire for wealth or power in the family's aspirations.
Harry rose abruptly, his voice tinged with disbelief, "Are you serious?"
The possibility of finally finding a remedy for his family's long-standing ailment left him utterly stunned.
Christopher nodded, affirming, "Certainly, but you'll need to be patient. It won't be long before my team develops the regenerative cradle technology. Soon, the genetic diseases affecting your family will be a thing of the past."
A sudden bang interrupted the conversation. Harry, seated in the boss's chair, wore an expression of disappointment as he vented his frustration, "You haven't even found a cure for my family's genetic disease, and now you come to me for tritium. Is this SHIELD's idea of sincerity?"
Christopher explained, "I was in a rush to utilize the tritium element, so I arrived ahead of schedule."
Curiosity etched on his face, Harry questioned, "What do you even need tritium for? Are you planning to create weapons or blow up the Earth?"
Tritium's destructive potential was immense; a single drop could wreak havoc on the entire planet.
"I intend to support Doctor Octopus's artificial sun," Christopher declared.
Harry, suddenly understanding Christopher's motives, recalled his own support for the same technology. "I can provide you with the tritium element from the Osborne Group, but I have two conditions," Harry asserted.
"Name them," Christopher replied with a grin. His newfound strength allowed him to fulfill countless requests, and two conditions seemed like a breeze. Whether he honored past promises depended on his mood.
"First, cure the genetic diseases of everyone in my family. Second, once the artificial sun succeeds, share it with me," Harry stipulated.
Christopher stood up, extending his right hand happily, "A pleasure to collaborate."
Despite his joy, Christopher hadn't anticipated obtaining the tritium element from the Osborne Group so easily.
Harry shook hands with Christopher, a smile playing on his lips, "A pleasure to collaborate."
Christopher and Harry proceeded to sign a contract, sealing the deal. Following the agreement, Harry promptly handed over the tritium element to Christopher.
Although the tritium element appeared small, about the size of a ping pong ball, it held significant value. Given the global scarcity, possessing even this much was noteworthy—only 25 pounds existed on the entire planet.
Exiting the Osborn Group, Christopher considered heading to SHIELD for vibranium. However, upon overhearing passersby discussing him, he paused.
As he listened in, he discovered that people were attributing his actions to please Mary, claiming he had carved a message on the moon's surface. He couldn't help but chuckle at the irony, realizing that many now considered him a love saint, joking that the pinnacle of courting was etching a girl's name on the moon.
Pulling out his phone, he instructed, "Optimus, find out what the public is saying about me."
"It will be done, my Liege," responded Optimus dutifully, acknowledging Alex's command.
Shortly after, Christopher's phone buzzed with notifications, drawing his attention to a flood of news updates. He tapped on one of the alerts, and a video news segment began to play on the screen.
In the footage, a reporter was interviewing Mary, probing into her recent escapades.
"Miss Mary, how did Mr. Christopher manage to take you to the moon?" the reporter inquired.
Grinning with delight, Mary responded, "He has a mech called Optimus that can undergo various transformations. He converted the Optimus into a plane and flew me to the moon."
"Sounds like quite the adventure! Was it enjoyable being on the moon?" the reporter pressed further.
Mary nodded enthusiastically, reminiscing, "It was incredible! The twinkling starlit sky, the vast lunar landscape, especially the serene solitude of space, accompanied by the romantic melody of 'My Heart Will Go On'—it was truly magical."
"Wow, Miss Mary, I can only dream of such an experience," the reporter remarked wistfully, clearly envious of Mary's extraordinary journey.
Mary beamed with happiness at the reporter's admiration.
"Miss Mary, how did Mr. Christopher manage to inscribe that message 'Mary's has been here' on the moon's surface? We're all curious to know," the reporter inquired with intrigue.
"That was Christopher controlling the Optimus and deploying pulse cannons. It was as breathtaking as a fireworks display," Mary explained.
"And Miss Mary, can you reveal Christopher's true identity?" the reporter probed, hoping for a scoop.
However, Mary's demeanor suddenly shifted from joy to distress. She slumped slightly and uttered with discontent, "He's upset with my ex-boyfriend, and now I can't find him. The reason I agreed to this interview is to reach out to him through the TV station. I love you, please don't leave me."
Christopher, stunned by Mary's unexpected declaration on live television, hastily switched off his phone in disbelief.
"What on earth is happening?" he muttered to himself, bewildered by Mary's sudden change of heart.
"Are all the girls nowadays this unpredictable?" he pondered, perplexed by the whirlwind of emotions.
"Spider-Man must be in distress right now," Christopher speculated, imagining his friend's reaction to the tumultuous developments.
Just then, his phone rang again, and he saw it was a call from Spider-Man. With a sense of urgency, he answered, only to be met with Spider-Man's frantic voice on the other end.
"Christopher, you need to hurry! Mary's been captured by Professor Lizard," Spider-Man exclaimed, setting off a new wave of annoyance and frustration in Christopher's mind.
