Marvel: Starting from the Bottom

"Transmigration." Ah, such an interesting concept. Many dream about being reborn in a world filled with heroes and villains. But not me... Thrown into a world where Gods walk among mortals, I will do everything in my power to survive. Stealing, robbing, killing, manipulating? I will do them all. I will be the one to survive until the end. Heros, Villains, Eternals, Deviants, Gods, Demons... SCREW THEM ALL!!! This is my story and I will make sure that everyone gets that right! I am Marcellus, a mutant who started from the bottom. [Pat reon.com/Greedyfrog] [Disclaimer: Other than my MC and the OCs, I do not own anything used in this fanfiction.]

Making Choices

"Let's make a bet."

Jean looked at me confused. "What kind?"

"The kind where you make a foolish choice and that causes all sorts of trouble for you."

She was even more confused. "I don't get it."

*Sigh*

"I mean that." I pointed at a blonde boy tackling a chubby guy.

She followed my finger and frowned as she saw her boyfriend.

"Duncan?"

Duncan Matthews, Jean's first boyfriend and probably the most unlikeable one.

"Duncan Matthews, the high school bully and possibly the only one that Scott hates more than Magneto."

Scott and Duncan didn't get along… at all. And that was not only because of his crush on Jean…

Duncan was just that unlikeable.

"He is not that bad." Jean frowned. "He is pretty nice once you get to know him."

"I highly doubt that."

I shook my head looking at the blonde jock laughing at the chubby boy. Looking at the show, Jean felt embarrassed.

"He can act like a child at times… but he is a good guy." She was trying her best to make Duncan look good but his actions weren't helping.

I didn't say anything about it and instead asked her a question.

"So, who are you supporting? Duncan or Scott and Bobby?"

That made her go silent. She was torn between choosing a side as she could neither choose her friends over Duncan nor could she choose Duncan over them.

"But it's not really my place to interfere." I shrugged and backed off from the gallery. "However, choose wisely Jean. Sometimes simple choices lead to apocalyptic results."

I didn't want her and Scott to be together but neither did I want her to be with Duncan.

She can do better than that… and she should.

One uses her for popularity and the other is an obsessed fool.

Leaving a confused Jean in the gallery, I walked towards the other girls.

Kitty and Rogue were at the corner enjoying their food as they were not much into the whole rugby thing… Well, Rogue wasn't. But Kitty pretty much knew who the winners were going to be so she chose food over the match.

"Enjoying yourselves, ladies?"

Kitty giggled. "We sure are. How's the match?"

"Boring."

"As expected." Rogue muttered without paying much attention to me. It wasn't a big deal as she rarely bothered with things like social interactions.

Meanwhile, Xavier asked me to do something about her powers, but I declined. While it was easy for me to alter her powers to give her control over them… I wasn't going to do that.

At least not yet. Not on Xavier's wish.

"Anyhow… You are quite popular now." Kitty said. "You defeating the Brotherhood is all over the internet and people are going crazy over your identity. It's only a matter of time before they link it with the name Hanley."

I was in a hoodie with sunglasses covering my eyes, so I was not recognised but it was true that the Internet was going crazy over my little display.

"Well, it doesn't matter. I was going to make a public appearance soon enough." I shrugged. "And while some are still suspicious of me, I did manage to amass quite the popularity."

I looked at the time. "Well, I have a few things to deal with. So, I will see you girls later."

Rogue nodded but Kitty raised an eyebrow. "Not waiting for the match to end?"

I smiled. "I already know the result so there is no point. I only came as Bobby invited me. And he is destroying the other team."

Kitty giggled. "True." She looked at me. "And Markus, thank you for saving us back then."

"No worries."

[Later that night]

[Krakoa]

I laid the broken helmet that I took my Juggernaut on the table. It still has retained some of the mystical powers and I am contemplating if I should play with it. But realising that Cyttorak must have already spotted me as I destroyed Cain… I knew that I should not involve myself with an unkillable god just yet.

I already have too much on my platter… Kang, Blackheart and most certainly Odin. Odin is difficult to predict.

Despite my best efforts of erasing Eitri's memories, Odin must have known. He sees a lot but no one can predict when he decides to make a move. And the fact that he hasn't come after me must have a reason.

I will have to look into Asgard once I deal with my current problems.

As I was worrying about Cyttorak, I received a message.

*Ding*

Turning on my phone, it turned out to be from Betty.

'*Found her.*'

Now, that's the best news I could have hoped for.

[Null-Time Zone]

Mobius M. Mobius rushed towards Mr. Alternity's office with multiple files in his hands. Mr. Alternity was in the upper management and happens to be the one to make the final decision on TVA's behalf.

As Mobius knocked on the door, Alternity was re-adjusting a universe where Thanos was killed by Space Sharks.

"Come in."

Mobius walked in with the massive pile of paper which made Alternity raise an eyebrow.

"And what exactly are you carrying, Mobius?"

Placing the files on Alternity's desk, Mobius took a deep breath.

"The most plausible ways to stop Kang."

Alternity looked at the files and then stared at Mobius.

"I am busy with seven universes, so explain all that in… ten words or less."

Alternity was not pleased with the recent ways that Mobius has been using to handle Kang and with each failure, Alternity was losing patience.

"I don't believe that's possible, sir."

"That's more than half of the word limit gone."

Mobius widened his eyes when he realised that Alternity was being serious about the word count.

"We can hire individuals."

Alternity paused to look at Mobius.

Sighing before pausing his work, he asked. "And who are those individuals?"

"It's only one person, sir."

That surprised Alternity. Mobius was known for keeping multiple backup options… which never seemed to work, but the point stands.

Mobius always had more than one option however this time, he had only one.

This made the previously uninterested Alternity consider Mobius' option for a while.

"Continue."

Mobius nodded and took out a sheet.

"His name is Marcellus Hanley who goes by the name of Markus Hanley now. He is a Homo Superior who enhanced his powers through serums and also happens to be a Champion of Infinity."

While the mutant and serum part was uninteresting to Alternity, the Champion part piqued his interest.

"Infinity's Champion? That's weird… She is not supposed to have a Champion." Alternity thought about the universes where Infinity interfered and in each of them, she had an Avatar and not Champions. "Are you sure that it's a Champion and not an Avatar?"

"Positive sir." Mobius affirmed. "He is an anomaly."

Alternity widened his eyes in realisation. 'That's why I didn't know of Infinity's Champion… he is an anomaly.'

He looked at Mobius seriously. "How dangerous is this guy?"

"He hasn't done anything major or messed with the timeline much. While he has time manipulation, he hasn't used it."

While space and time are interlinked, a person can use spatial manipulation without a control over time. If a person possessed spatial manipulation and created a portal without adjusting the time, the law of the universe automatically adjusts the time to 1:1 ratio.

That's exactly how Markus had been using his spatial powers without tapping into time manipulation.

"And how positive are you that this Markus guy can stop Kang?"

Mobius replied instantly. "50%"

'That's a high number for someone going against Kang.' Alternity thought about the suggestion for a while.

He finally decided to check the files and when he did, it surprised him. The feats of Markus were interesting in his eyes.

'If he used his time manipulation or any of his powers openly… He might be an even bigger issue than Kang to deal with.'

He took a deep breath and looked at Mobius.

"Very well. I will allow it… as long as you can keep this anomaly in check."

Mobius smiled and nodded. "Of course, sir."

It was finally time for him to summon Markus.
