"Lord Godless?!"
Hearing Danny name the person, everyone there frowned.
This name was somewhat too awkward for westerners, but Matt and others could still get a glimpse of the overbearing meaning behind it.
Silently keeping the name in mind, Natasha looked to Ip Man.
Not only her but also the members of the Defenders. They all focused their eyes on him.
Lord Godless was a name that, no matter how someone looks at it, had the same strong oriental overbearing esthetics as the previous 'the Beast.'
Facing the stares from the crowd, Ip Man lightly frowned and pondered for a while. Then, he shook his head helplessly, "Sorry, I never heard of the name 'Lord Godless' like all of you. If my guess is correct, he should be the mysterious person who injured the Beast."
"I thought so too."
Danny spoke, recalling the previous conversation in the alley, "I heard him mention that he knew I was looking for clues about him. He taunted me for not even knowing who they really were."
"So, Lord Godless must be a person of Jiu You!"
Jessica spoke up and offered her opinion.
"Jiu You?"
Danny looked at Jessica with a puzzled expression on his face.
He had been in a coma in the intensive care unit when Ip Man arrived and had been in self-imposed withdrawal for some time after he woke up. It was impossible for him to hear about Jiu You.
"A criminal organisation similar to the Hand, but even more powerful and terrifying. They have some connection to Peng Lai and Master Ip." Luke briefly explained to Danny.
"To be honest, I only know a little about Jiu You. Unfortunately, Master Roshi, who knows more about them, isn't here. Otherwise, we wouldn't be left in the dark like this." Making a helpless expression, Ip Man threw out Master Roshi's name.
"Master Roshi?"
Hearing the name from Ip Man, Jessica then recalled the powerful moves he had used in the previous fight in Chinatown and hastily asked him, "Master Ip, Who's that? Is it the master that taught you that Kame-- something move? Did he come to New York?"
"Hmm, Master Roshi did come to New York."
Ip Man didn't deny it. He nodded, "In fact, he settled that chaotic scene in New York before, using the Kamehameha."

"Master Ip, you shouldn't have revealed that." Natasha opened her mouth to warn the clone. Naturally, she was aware that her words wouldn't have any effect on Ip Man, but she still spoke up to express her position as a member of S.H.I.E.L.D.
"So, where is Master Roshi now?"
'So that chaotic battle was actually settled by a master from Peng Lai!'
Jessica tried to suppress her detective instincts to pursue the matter but still had to ask.
"Traveling around the world."
Looking at the expectant gazes of Defenders, Ip Man couldn't help but answer with a wry smile.
"Traveling around the world?"
"..."
Listening to Ip Man's words, Jessica and others in the intensive care unit looked at each other. They could all see the speechlessness in each other's eyes.
Natasha saw the scene and felt a sense of déjà vu. The corners of her lips slightly hooked up, and she somehow felt vindicated.
She wasn't the only one who felt disappointed.
"So what should we do next?" Looking back, Jessica scratched her hair with a slightly helpless expression, "In the end, all we know is the identity of the guy."
"In fact, there's more than just that clue." On the hospital bed, Danny spoke up and looked at Matt, "Lord Godless's appearance has something to do with someone else we know."
"Who?" Luke reacted.
"Kingpin."
...
Oscorp, in a secret laboratory.
Norman Osborn took off the goblin helmet on his head, exposing his distorted expression, twisted by shifting emotions.
Bang --
With a heavy blow, Norman smashed the table in front of him in two with a punch. He gasped and tried to suppress the evil thoughts welling up inside him for a while before he regained his composure while covered in sweat.
There was no mistaking the actual identity of the 'Green Goblin' rampaging over New York. It was Norman Osborn, founder and CEO of Oscorp.
Nearly half an hour later, Norman Osborn emerged from the side effects of the serum. He changed back into a suit and hid his Green Goblin armour before walking out of the secret laboratory with a grim look on his face.
The side effects of the prototype Super Soldier Serum from the military were a little more serious than he had previously thought. He wouldn't have taken the risk of injecting the untested half-finished Super Soldier Serum if his body hadn't been deteriorating due to the retrovirus he inherited from his family.
But at least he survived.
'Compared to death, a minor side effect isn't much of a problem.'
Comforting himself with a few words, Norman Osborn collected himself and made his way to another laboratory.
"Curt, what's the result?"
"Mr Osborn." Hearing the question, the man who didn't have a right arm turned and replied with excitement, "The experiment was successful. We managed to let the mice to regrow their severed limbs. But there's still a degree of unpredictability in the regenerating serum. We need to test it a few more times."
"That's good." After listening to Professor Connors's report, Norman Osborn nodded his head.
At that moment, from the other side, a secretary rushed up to speak to him.
"Mr Osborn, a phone call from the military."
"I see."
As Norman replied with a stern look, a haze flashed across his eyes.
With the revelation of Tony Stark's identity as Iron Man and the iron suit, it was obvious that the previous collaboration between Oscorp and the military had been hindered. The military clearly favoured Tony Stark's armour over the individual combat weapons Oscorp had developed.
Previously, several hints had been given to them through special channels that the contract might be suspended for the time being.
If the contract was terminated, Norman's reputation within Oscorp would definitely suffer. It would affect the trust of the shareholders and ruin the upcoming meeting.
The thought caused the expression on Norman Osborn's face to grow grimmer and grimmer while a shrill voice emerged in his heart.
'Damn you, Tony Stark!'
'Damn you, Spider-Man!'
