Marvel: From the Start, I Am Immortal

A pair of iron shackles was fastened to the wrists of a thirteen-year-old boy, his slender and frail figure being shoved forward by two fully armed soldiers. His desolate shadow stretched across the corridor of the underground base. Su Chen's youthful face was laced with a hint of fear. He didn't want to move. But the soldiers kept pushing him, their strong physiques easily propelling him forward.

"Damn it..."

Su Chen gritted his teeth and struggled with all his underdeveloped strength.

"Kid, behave yourself."

The soldiers on either side immediately lifted the boy by his arms, carrying him toward the laboratory at the end of the hallway. This was a research base specifically for studying mutants. Brain dissections, body autopsies, and various illegal human experiments were conducted here. After all, people were desperate to unlock the secrets of mutant genes.

In the past half-month, Su Chen had witnessed countless figures being taken out of their cells, never to return. Damn it! He didn't want to die! But with his limbs shackled and his young, powerless body, Su Chen's struggles were futile. He was soon brought into a sealed laboratory.

"Strap him down."

At the command of a lab technician in a white coat, Su Chen's hands and feet were bound to an experiment table, his waist and neck tightly strapped, rendering him immobile like a lamb to the slaughter. Outside the one-way glass of the laboratory, General Marcus, dressed in military uniform, said excitedly, "Is this Subject 5162? The one with extraordinary healing abilities?"

"Yes, General!" A doctor beside him responded excitedly, "Even Wolverine's healing factor can't compare to his. His cellular activity is astonishingly high. This could be our key to immortality."

"Immortality?"

General Marcus's expression grew even more intense.

The white-coated doctor hadn't mentioned that this boy with extraordinary healing abilities wasn't a mutant, as he lacked the characteristic X-gene. Instead, his genes were highly peculiar, constantly mutating and evolving. Immortality? Infinite evolution? The doctor was taken aback by his own bold hypothesis. It sounded like the boy could become an omnipotent deity.

His intuition told him this boy was extremely dangerous, but his curiosity about the ever-mutating genes was insatiable. He wanted to unlock its secrets, to study it and find the answers.

"Let me cut open your head and find out."

The doctor's cruel words echoed in Su Chen's ears.

No!! Su Chen began to struggle more violently. He saw the doctors around him picking up scalpels. Craniotomy!! These monsters were going to perform a craniotomy on him!! They were going to cut open his skull! I don't want to die! Su Chen screamed inside, recalling his deceased mother. He had promised her that he and his sister would live well, stay healthy, and grow old. He would find a gentle wife and have a chubby son.

But now, a catastrophe had befallen him, threatening to destroy the promise he made to his mother on her deathbed. No!! "I want to live!" Su Chen shouted. At that moment, an invisible wave emanated from his mind, and everything around him was controlled by this unseen force. Items in the laboratory mysteriously floated into the air.

"Damn it, Subject 5162 is exhibiting new abilities, possibly telekinesis!!"

For a moment, the lab staff panicked. "Get the strong anesthetic!" A nurse shakily grabbed a floating syringe from the air. Su Chen saw this and his clear eyes turned red. He didn't want the injection. He was terrified of needles!!

"Get out, all of you get out!"

Su Chen roared. Bang!! As if by command, the nurse holding the syringe and all the lab staff were suddenly hurled against the walls by a powerful repulsive force. Many were knocked unconscious.

Su Chen's eyes were bloodshot. He didn't realize that his genes were undergoing a terrifying mutation and evolution. All he wanted was to live. "I want to live; I must keep my promise." His strong will transformed into power. Rip!! The straps binding Su Chen's limbs and waist snapped under his slender frame. His body inexplicably surged with strength. His malnourished, skinny body began to fill out with muscle.

Su Chen didn't understand what was happening to him. He only wanted to survive.

Bang!! The lab door burst open, and several fully armed soldiers stormed in. Knowing that the experiment subject had lost control, they immediately pulled the triggers of their guns! Swish! The bullets from the automatic rifles hit Su Chen's body precisely, one bullet striking right between his eyebrows. But within a second, as if in reverse, the bullets were expelled from Su Chen's body, and the wounds instantly healed without leaving a trace.

"Self-healing ability?"

A soldier sneered and switched to continuous fire mode, relentlessly shooting at Su Chen's head. He wanted to see how the boy would heal after his brain was blown apart.

Ding ding ding!!

The bullets fired at close range bounced off Su Chen's skin without penetrating. "What the...?" The soldier was dumbfounded. The bullets had pierced his body just moments ago, but now they couldn't even penetrate his skin. It was as if Su Chen had evolved steel-like skin in that brief moment, adapting to the impact of the bullets.

"He's evolving..."

The white-coated doctor, lying on the floor pale from the telekinetic impact, was now ecstatically laughing, "Hahaha, his infinitely mutating genes are making him rapidly evolve. My God, let us celebrate the birth of a god!!"
