CHAPTER 4 -The ONE that guides

"Ah, the child is finally here."

"....."

'Uh-oh, he lost consciousness, did I push him too hard? Let's recover his exhaustion and have the chat in a dream, yeah'

MC POV

When I reached the peak I felt myself float up and land in front of the silhouette of a person lying down on a hammock(?) above my height I could feel him looking at me with interest and amusement.

"Where am I and who are you?" I asked as I looked around and found myself in an unfamiliar place.

"You, my child are at the peak of Kailash and I am a devotee of Lord Shiva and since he could not break his meditation he sent me to meet you. So tell me what you desire?"

He spoke, and his voice calmed me down and I said what was on my mind

"I want my parents back."(Rudra)

"A difficult desire, overturning death, could you not just make do with something simple like immortality or invincibility something?"

"No, I have no interest in that."(Rudra)

'Are they simple?'

"I see you certainly live up to your name 'Rudra' Your desires are fearsome, well since I was requested to do so, I will give you a chance.

Normally your wish would be difficult to fulfill, with the little amount of power I can exert in this era, but the future of the world you are in gives us a chance to manipulate the odds in our favour.

Since my presence here is quite thin I can't directly fulfil your wish so I will show you a path, it is perilous but if you succeed you will have your parents' back,

But understand this 'Rudra' if you embark on this path there will be consequences and if you want to succeed you have to get stronger, be sure to live up to your name, child."

"I will try my best."(Rudra)

"Now listen carefully and don't carelessly talk a word of what I speak because if you do you might lose the opportunity as some people could interfere with your plans.

In the future, you will have a chance that will allow alteration to the timeline but you can't send back anything physical and the ride will not be made for you so you will have to jump on yourself and fare against the tides, but before departure death looms at every corner. So first, you must, survive."

"Since I can't help you in any other way I can only tell you to find your maternal family they will help you get stronger."

"Where do I find them?"(Rudra)

"Kunlun, and take your mother's family relic."

Then, I woke up.

RUDRA POV

The visage I talked with was Lord Krishna, the avatar of Lord Vishnu.

According to the myths, it is he who steers the progress of the world and when things get bad he comes down himself in the form of an avatar to guide the world to the right path I don't know if the Marvel Universe follows that mythology.

Looking back now there were so many questionable encounters in my journey and I don't remember the faces of those that guided me except the NPC Guruji at Rameshwaram.

I don't remember who told me to walk the Kedarnath climb, nor the priest whom I talked to at the temple and I don't even remember the sadhu I met at Kailash, talk about coincidence or not.

I don't know if he was testing me or guiding me, maybe both but at least he gave me a direction and I know what I want to do.

After 5 days of travel, I returned to my home in Rameshwaram and rested there for two weeks.

I needed that break after the last three years and I got in touch with the world and the major changes happening all over the world,

First was the alien army that came charging through a hole in the sky two years ago and the birth of the Avengers, as they call themselves.

I remember seeing the movie then there was the news of some mutant terrorism. Oh, and Magneto was caught by X-men 7 years ago and imprisoned.

Then there was the kidnap of the American president later rescued by Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron Man

When I looked deeper I found these photos of people burning and exploding with orange light in their bodies on a website, which when I tried to look again disappeared.

Then there was the news of the immigrant(prince) God of Thunder fighting aliens in London and some of my sources in New York told me our young soldier(old mascot) Captain America was declared a fugitive.

I informed my people to help him if they come across him without putting themselves at risk because according to what I have gathered HYDRA was most likely involved in the death of my parents and the Captain is probably being chased by SHIELD(HYDRA).

As the last week of June arrived I began to pack my bags and booked a ticket to Xinjiang China.

I plan to travel by land from there towards Kunlun mountains now, from what Lord Krishna told me I will have to keep my senses all-time high to sense the city of Kunlun and my mother's pendant I had will allow me access to the city.

By the way, if you are wondering how I knew it was Lord Krishna who talked to me it was my grandmother who gave me the answer.

She said my tests and troubles during the climb were probably due to his playful nature somewhat going overboard and that he can be quite meticulous in his plans that turn the tide in his favour with minimum apparent effort and intervention in human matters.

oh and more importantly I had a spar with grandma, let's just say I got my ass handed to me and she made it look easy so -whatever she says is right.

After the spar I asked for I told her everything I went through.

MC POV

"So I plan to begin my trip on the 1st of next month."(Rudra)

"I see, I don't know the path the Lord guided you to but since he said it is possible to bring back Rakesh and Xishi(mother) then it must be true, if you wish to succeed then do your best."(Grandma)

"I fear my best won't be enough."(Rudra)

"Well if it isn't enough then take a deep breath, shout 'Har Har Mahadev' and do better!"(Grandma)

And so I departed on another journey.
