16: Shadows of the Light

[Chapter 16: Shadows of the Light]

With a strong shining orange light, the sun announced the coming of morning. A dawn crisp light shone in the sky. Above a sturdy, rocky mountain stood a dark castle. Fog covered the surroundings, making the ambiance around the castle even more mysterious. The castle had three towers, each with a pointy green roof.

With silent steps, a being climbed the mountain. He was clad in a dark, flowing robe, with a hood. He had a belt decorated with various killing tools. On his feet were brown boots that allowed him to make minimal noises.

His small arms possessed an abnormal amount of strength, permitting him to jump from grip to grip. Suddenly, a piece of rock broke under his feet, almost making him fall, but through sheer skill, he was able to hold himself on the mountain with only one arm.

The being closed his eyes, speaking with all his heart. "Please, Oh Lord of magic, give strength." Invisible to his eyes, golden particles floated in a whirlpool around his arm.

Using all his strength, the man was able to push himself more than ten meters in the air. With this much strength, he could easily climb the mountain. Now on the peak, he gazed through the thick fog.

"For the frozen prince!" he shouted, his voice disappearing in the wind, determination filling his voice. While his gaze held absolute belief. It was such a strange sight, almost like a monster having a delicious meal in his mind. He put his hand on his face. It trailed down, revealing an obsessed grin. Drool was falling out of his mouth, like a vampire before blood.

The robe-clothed being then sprinted toward a gigantic shadow. In his hands were two daggers that he held strangely, in reverse grip. He hid himself behind a rock, looking at two guards.

They were in iron armor, a sign of prosperity on this relatively new planet. In their hands were long three-pointed spears, not tridents, as the two small piercing points on a circle made it seem as if they were holding the sun.

The fanatic licked his right dagger before sprinting from behind the guards. As he reached a few meters behind them, and they noticed him, he jumped high in the air, and stroke their necks, quickly killing them.

He once again licked the daggers, but this time they were filled with flowing, dark blood. "Blood for the god of serpents!" He flickered his hand, making the blood fall onto the ground as if it were raining crimson.

Having enough about unnecessary stealth, as he knew the being, he had to assassinate wouldn't hear him anyway; he kicked a towering wooden door. The sound of the door falling onto the ground woke the guards in the castle out of their bored states.

"What are you doing here!" screamed one of them with stupefaction. Who would dare to barge into this castle like that? It was the central point of this kingdom!

"Your worse nightmare!" responded the hooded assassin, not remarking how cringe it sounded. Fortunately for him, a gust of wind passed, blowing his robe, making him look cool.

The sound of iron clashing resonated in the main hall. More and more guards came rushing in. Unfortunately for them, they didn't have the skill to fight him, nor did they have any coordination, thus leading to them killing their own. While the intruder steadily continued to kill them with untold brutality.

Minutes passed, with death receiving countless new 'weak' souls. The silver floor of the castle had now been tainted with dark blood. The sound of flesh being stabbed multiple times, again and again, reverberated through the otherwise silent air.

A disgusting grin formed itself on the assassin's face as his dagger made multiple holes in a dead guard. Near him, lying on the ground, were eyeballs missing from their sockets, and fingers making a small miniaturist mountain.

Remembering his goal for coming here, the man stood up and slumped to the highest point of the mysterious castle. His body tensed as he figured out where his target was. He opened a window and started climbing the outside walls.

Finding a large window, he placed his hands in a prayer position and uttered. "Oh, great sovereign of the sea, please make it so that my shot may find its target." Courage filled his being; he would not make his lord regret choosing him!

His entire strength, his ki, concentrated on his right arm. His veins bulged out, making him look even more terrifying than before with his ugliness. He took a deep breath before aiming through the window.

Through the window, he could see a taller-than-normal woman on a stone throne. Her legs were naked, while on her side stood two men, their hands slowly massaging her long tights. Behind the throne, another man stood, his head posed on the back of the throne, while the queen's hands held it between her green palms, like a dog.

Suddenly, as the woman decided to enjoy herself, her hands trailing to one of the men's hairs with strength, forcing his mouth between her legs, a loud shattering sound made her feel dread.

A dagger flew through the air with a swishing sound. And without the queen being able to respond, it lodged itself in her stomach. Blood slowly covered the handle of the dagger, while the men stood frozen.

They then heard a louder shattering sound, as the assassin jumped through it. Fragments of glass flew in the long hall before touching the red ground with a melodious sound of death.

"Cowardly bastard!" screamed the queen.

Ignoring her, the fanatic ran toward her, one of his daggers pointing forward. No matter how strong the queen was, she could not dodge and ended up being stabbed in her heart.

Seeing the scene, the three men, kneeling on the ground, their sweaty face facing the ground, and their erection quickly disappearing. "Please, don't kill me! We were forced!" said one of them.

Not caring one bit if they were willing or not, the assassin flickered his hand and slashed their necks.

"A new kingdom will soon see the light!"
