Chapter 23: Ruins(2)

Naruto's expression changed as he thought about the truth of this world and his teammates got worried over this.

Naruto decided to open the scroll.

"What the hell!!"

As soon as the scroll opened, a black mist started flowing out. A ghoul came out of the scroll. The atmosphere surrounding them became cold.

It's as if all the happiness in the world has been stripped out of them. Kakashi started seeing Rin and Obito dying, then the vision turned to Sakumo's lifeless body, Minato and Kushina's funeral.

A similar thing happened to Sasuke, he again relieved the night of the Uchiha massacre, his parents' body, and Itachi's attempt to Kill him.

Although they saw these things, they quickly took action to disrupt the chakra but to no avail as this was not a genjutsu.

Sakura fainted after crying for a few seconds. Sasuke seeing that genjutsu didn't work, tried attacking the wraith-like figure.

Sasuke and Kakashi simultaneously opened their sharingan to get out of the visions. This did help them get out of the visions, but the feeling of helplessness affected them and the ninjutsu they tried after that was quite low in power.

After a couple of seconds, they saw Naruto picking up one of the sticks from the ground and waving it towards the wraith, "Expecto Patronum!"

After seeing the movement, they had a brief feeling that they might be saved. Just look at how confidently Naruto waved the stick in some incomprehensible manner saying some vaguely familiar words. Plus, it was Naruto who was stronger than them.

But they were wrong, nothing happened.

"Expecto Patronum!"

"Expecto Patronum!"*5

Naruto kept on waving but nothing happened.

Sasuke: "...."

Kakashi: "...."

Wraith: "...."

Seeing all of them looking at him like this, Naruto blushed. Who doesn't want to live the fantasy of shouting Expecto Patronum at the dementors, destroying Horcrux or using Cruci*cough* stupify on Umbridge?

Naruto also wanted to do the same and today he was so excited seeing the wraith that he forgot that the stick on the ground was not a wand nor did he have magic.

'Alas! Even after getting both Haki and Chakra, I still want magic.

'Looks like even with Sharingan they can't deal with these ghould or demeantors. God knows what they are doing here or what exactly is this world. Does it have other fantasy worlds and the shinobi continent is some forbidden hidden place, or do they come from outer space like those white-skinned aliens?

Wait a minute!! why did I forget this theory? I thought I would ask the system but I always pushed it to the back of my mind during my training.

But first, let's get rid of this ghoul. I guess Haki should work. I guess because of my conqueror's haki, I am not affected by the dementor.'

In the next second, Naruto appeared behind the ghoul, with his hand covered in dense black and red, he grabbed the ghoul and dragged him towards the scroll. To others' surprise, the ghoul tried running away from Naruto's hand, but Naruto didn't bulge.

After he reached the opened scroll, that was there on the ground and placed the ghoul on top of it, the scroll shined and it closed along with the ghoul.

After the scroll was closed, both Sasuke and Kakashi slumped to the ground, unable to say anything. Naruto went towards them with the scroll in his hand. He put the scroll in his own storage seal and took out a couple of chocolate shakes from it handed it to Sasuke and Kakashi, kept one aside for Sakura and went on to study the ruins.

After half an hour, Sakura woke up and Kakashi offered her the shake that Naruto left for them.

When all of them were finally fit to move on, Naruto appeared in front of them.

"Well, I have explored the ruins, I can't find anything else."

"Oi Naruto! what the hell was that? And why did the Ninjutsu didn't work and what was with that genjutsu?" Sasuke shouted at Naruto to know more about this. He felt powerless in front of that creature, and it reminded him of that night, in more ways than one.

Kakashi also gave Naruto a grave look. He wants to know the same. Sakura meanwhile hesitated but nonetheless spoke, " I think it looks just like the dementors mentioned in Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban" and after speaking she looked towards him.

'I knew they would figure it out, but this girl had to say it right now'

"Well, it can't be dementor, right? It was just a fictional character I created inspired by ghost stories...." Naruto wanted to continue but Sakura again cut him off.

"No, I remember how you mentioned about the dementors in the book.

A humanoid shape, approximately three metres, or 10 feet high, and are covered in dark hooded cloaks of long, ripped black cloth, making them resemble closely to wraiths. Its body is greyed and decayed looking, and its breath sounds rattling like it is trying to "suck more than air" out of a room.

It is a phantom species who, as their name suggests, gradually deprive human minds of happiness and intelligence."

"Wow Sakura! If I didn't know better, I might have suspected you to be Hermione using Polyjuice Potion" This time it was Kakashi who said these words with a chuckle.

Even he doesn't remember word to word of the icha icha series even after reading it so many times.

After an awkward silence Naruto spoke again, "Well, I don't know from where the Elves and dementors are coming, but this is my first time coming out of the village, and this is also the first time we are seeing any proof of their existence. So before coming to any conclusion, let's investigate first."

"What Naruto is saying is correct, Sasuke, Sakura and Naruto, I would like you all to keep what happened here a top-secret, and Naruto I would want you to submit the scroll to the village."

"Nope, not happening, this is my treasure and I am not going to give it to the village."

Sakura was stunned by this, Sasuke who knew more about Naruto just shrugged and Kakashi had a bewildered expression fearing another headache coming his way.

"Naruto, this is all for the village. We need to know what that creature is inside the scroll."

"Yaa, nope not happening. This fuinjutsu treasure is mine and I am not going to give it to anyone, at least until I am done with this. And without me, you wouldn't even have found out about it. In addition, I am the only one who was able to handle it."

What Naruto said was true but that's not how things work in the Ninja world.

Kakashi quickly composed himself and attributed the problem to Hokage to solve.

"If nothing is left, let's complete the mission first."

During the night, at Tazuna's house.

While Naruto was resting, he quickly tried to call the system when he remembered the question which he almost let slip to the back of his mind again.

But to his despair, the system didn't answer him this time.

'Sigh! I just wanted to know, if there was another transmigrator in this world. The possibility is not low.

After completing the training, I am leaving the village for my adventure ASAP.

This world is becoming strange day by day and other fantasy characters are out of my calculations right now.

But I guess exploring the unknown is the real adventure now, isn't it.'
