22 Chapter 22: Ruins

A couple of moments after Zabuza was beheaded by Naruto, a masked figure came running towards him with rage evident in his eyes. Naruto knew who he was and wanted to talk to him but before he could say anything, ice mirrors started forming around him.

He knew that talking to Haku in this condition was futile, so he used his conquerors to make him lose his consciousness. After that, he carried Haku near Tazuna and asked him to take care of Haku.

"Why are you asking us to take care of the enemy?" asked Sakura. She was still frightened by what happened. Both Zabuza ambushing them and Naruto beheading Zabuza was nauseating for her.

Kakashi was concerned, seeing Naruto beheading another person so easily, and showing no emotion, was a matter of concern. Another matter of concern was Naruto killing an Elite in a matter of seconds. This proves that he has reached Kage rank at the least.

But Naruto's next words made Kakashi a little less concerned about his student's mentality.

"Of course, he is just a kid. Why would I kill him?"

In the Ninja world, enemies are enemies. Kids, women and innocent doesn't matter. But Naruto caring about this shows his inner kindness, which is a good sign.

Even if not shown, everyone was worried about Naruto's possible retaliation against Konoha.

Sasuke has another question for Naruto though, "Why did you space out at that time?"

"Oh yeah! I forgot. I sensed something amazing. About that, Tazuna, did you guys ever do any underwater exploration here? especially during the low tides, like right now?"

Tazuna who was still bewildered by what was happening, came out of his reverie and answered Naruto. "We didn't do anything like that, never heard of any underwater exploration either."

"Kakashi sensei, have you ever heard of underwater exploration?"

"None, that I can remember."

"What! People in this world have never done any underwater exploration, is everyone an idiot in this world, you never thought about what minerals or resources you can get from down there."

"You are part of that world Naruto. And how are you sure there are resources down there?"

"..." Naruto just looked at Kakashi and turned around.

He made a few hand signs for the Shadow clone and asked them to stay around Tazuna to protect him.

"What are you doing?" asked Sasuke.

"Of course, I am going for an underwater adventure. I think something is amazing down there."

"But what about the mission, we need to complete it."

"Bah! Who cares about that? this guy lied so we can also take a little liberty here, I have already sensed, there is no one near us, in addition, I have placed my Shadow clones here. SO no problem." Naruto gave a thumbs up and started moving towards the shore.

He covered his body with a film of chakra, to prevent himself from getting wet and prepared to dive into the water. Before he could do that, he was stopped by Kakashi.

"You know that I am the leader, right? We have an important mission and a corpse of an Elite missing-nin and one of the seven swords of the Mist. How can you be so irresponsible?" Kakashi chided Naruto.

All of them have similar thoughts in their minds. The situation was quite dire. And here, the redhead was in the mood to play.

Their thoughts were correct, but they were not aware of what Naruto's discovery entails because they didn't know the real power of Naruto's observation of Haki which can cover the entire island, but now was blocked by some structure.

Even in Konoha, Naruto can easily sense everything, even what happens inside the root base.

This led Naruto to dive head first to discover what was happening.

He ignored their rantings and said, "I am going, if you want you can follow."

With that, he went inside the water. Sasuke followed him, he trusted Naruto and knew Naruto's powers and future knowledge. If something made Naruto this excited, it must be quite valuable.

Kakashi also followed him which was followed by Sakura. Kakashi also left two Shadow clones and also summoned Pakkun for emergencies.

All of this happened so fast that Tazuna was left stunned. He was alone, well not technically. There was an unconscious masked boy, two of Kakashi's clones, ten of Naruto's clones and a weird Talking dog.

As the three followed the redhead, they stopped in front of an opening. The opening was filled with water, but due to the low tide, there was still a little brightness in the corridor.

Naruto without any hesitation went inside the opening, Kakashi wanted to stop this recklessness but couldn't so he also reluctantly followed him.

By the end of the corridor, they saw an opening above and went up only to be greeted by a dark cave which was radiated by the stones which were giving a faint yellow glow.

All four of them went ashore and stood up. Naruto found some wooden sticks lying around and used the fire style to make some temporary torches to brighten the cave a little.

As the brightness increased, everything came into view. A huge cave, which had yellow glowstones adorned on the walls. A huge lake in the middle through which they entered the cave. When Naruto tried using his observation haki, he was unable to.

Something within the cave was stopping him from using that and he would find it.

"Hey Naruto, come here look at it" called Sasuke who was inspecting the walls towards one end of the cave.

Naruto moved towards Sasuke and the others followed him.

When he reached the wall, what came into view were characters written in some ancient language which was incomprehensible to all of them. But the characters were not what intrigued them.

What intrigued them were the pictures on the side. There were several of them. From the pictures, it can be inferred that they were of humans and some variants of humans.

There were humans whose ears were longer and more pointy, there were some humans with animal faces and some with only animal ears or paws. There were even some with horns. And some with very short stature.

There were other creatures also, but among them, one stood out the most. Yes, it was a dragon. There were both western and eastern dragons in the drawing. Phoenix and other fantasy creatures were also there.

Another important figure that came into notice was that of a city. A city with walls built around it. Seeing the figure, one can notice all kinds of people present there, including the abovementioned variants. There was a tall tower in the middle of the city and everyone seemed to be facing towards it.

To others, it was all quite bizarre, but to Naruto, it was all familiar. Elves, beast people, dragons and all.

"Hey Naruto, aren't the people with long and pointy ears just like the one mentioned in The Lord of the Rings?" asked Sasuke.

"What an astute observation Sasuke. 10 points for Slytherin." Joked Naruto to divert the attention but everyone's stare prompted him to make a reply.

"Hey! Don't look at me like that, how am I supposed to know that there were really such people in the past."

"And how are you so sure that these people lived in the past?" mentioned Kakashi, his glare intensifying.

"Look at that, there is a scroll lying there, since I found it first, it is mine." Naruto at that moment found a scroll, so he decided to divert their attention towards it and was successful.

Sure it was suspicious how Naruto created these fantasy creatures but now there is an ancient cave with drawings depicting those same creatures. But the allure of the scroll was enough to divert there attention for now.

'Sigh! I wonder what they would have thought if I would have published Danmachi. Ahh, this takes me back towards the adventure of a certain rabit scoring girls left and right.

Wait just a f*cking second!

Didn't the picture look just like Orario. And these elves, dwarves, beast people and that fuc*in tower in the middle.

Are we in a dungeon?

Is this whole continent or world just a part of dungeon, or some extra deep floor rest area which was never encountered by anyone.

And Otsutsukis are some monsters from other levels.

Don't tell me is this why we only know about this continent in this world.

I need to find out about this more, but deciphering this language is nearly impossible and the scroll might be the only chance.'

Naruto's expression changed as he thought about the truth of this world and his teammates got worried over this.

Naruto decided to open the scroll.

"What the hell!!"
