Chapter 39

I stood there waiting for big bear to make the first move, yet he just stood there, unmoving. "Are we waiting for a bell to signal the start of the round or something?" I taunted once again, and again, he just stood on guard with his kunai.

'He is on guard? It didn't work, huh? I guess I still need to work on it. Still, how can I have an easy time working on it when all I have done for the past year is hone my slaughter and killing skills and intents. So difficult.'

"*sigh*. Alright then. Ding, ding." I spoke as I began to slowly walk towards the big bear. Standing at 2.5meters tall, a large and intimidating man, and yet, watching him turtle up the way he had against a twelve-year-old like myself, was somewhat funny. But no one was laughing, especially not him.

'Water release: Gunshot.' I spat out a projectile of water towards his direction. Big bear reacted quickly and jumped to the side, only just barely dodging to the side, intending to run past the water gunshot and send an attack of his own.

'Who said my attack was over? Burst!' The projectile suddenly exploded, sending big bear rolling away a few meters. It took a while but I was able to come up with 'Burst'. I leave a bit of compressed chakra in water attacks, giving me the option to detonate the chakra, dealing a little damage while pushing my opponents back or forwards. Quite handy. In the case of Big Bear, I used quite a bit of chakra; Big bear required big chakra to push down. I had been trying to work on fire nature chakra which would heat up the exploded water but I had not made much progress when we left for Konoha. I intended on working on that as well.

While rolling, he threw the kunai at me, which a tilted my head to the side to evade. 'Water release: Water dragon'. Forming quick signs with one hand, my chest Inflated as I spat out a thin whip of water dragon crashing towards big bear who had rolled through after being pushed away.

The water dragon was almost upon him when he regained his footing, yet he did not panic. 'Earth release: Earth-style wall'. In blinding quickness, he went through the hand signs and slammed his hands on the floor, raising a thick wall to block my water dragon.

The water dragon slammed into the earth wall and began to drill through. It was one of the customized jutsus I had come up with. Considering there was no water body to make a large water dragon from, I could just create a thinner water dragon that would drill through the target instead of just slamming and crashing into the target. I felt I could come up with a so many things because of my way of thinking, mainly because I came from a different era.

Reincarnation Banzai! Transmigration Banzai!

[Big Bear POV]

I could feel the water dragon trying to break through my earth wall so I had to pour more chakra into the wall to strengthen it. After a slight bit of time I no longer felt the impact, making me heave a sigh. Just as I was about to quickly stand to execute my attack, I heard a voice above me.

"Whew. That was a close one huh? Some quick reflexes you have for a big guy. I have always wondered though, when you create an earth wall this big, does it not block your view of your opponent?"

I felt my entire body freeze. I whipped my head up towards the source of the voice. I felt something run down my mask as it broke in half and fell on the ground. There I saw her sitting atop the wall, just smiling down at me in a playful manner.

'If this was a life and death battle, does it mean I would have been dead by now?' The thought of it sent a chill down my spine, and yet, I felt rage rush to my head. I felt enraged at the thought of letting my guard down and letting a brat get the better of me.

'Let my guard down, huh?' I could only console myself as such but that only served to enrage me even more.

'Earth release: Shattered Earth' Striking the wall with my fist, I destroyed the wall in front of me, sending debris flying everywhere which forced the little devil away from me.

'I want to break her!'

"Whoa, big bear aggro. Haha. Why you so mad?" Seeing Big Bear in such a mood seemed to amuse me. I get it. Back on earth if a kid suddenly walked up on me and started doing basketball cross overs all over me with others watching and 'oohing', I would probably be mad and embarrassed, then smack the tastes out of his mouth. Well, kind of the same analogy.

"Alright. Since I've called aggro then let's play." With my arms in my pocket, I began to slowly move towards big bear. Yet with each step I took, one me became two, two became four and four finally turned ten. We walked in different directions, each surrounding big bear as we closed in on him.

In the forests, Hiruzen could almost not contain his excitement. His grandfatherly smile had long since left his face and was threatening to turn into a grin that could tear his face. "Your daughter really is amazing. To think she would take body flicker to such a level. She reminds me of Shisui." Hiruzen laughed happily. At this point, laughing was all he could do to contain the true happiness in his heart.

Back on the training ground, nine of me broke into a run and began assaulting big bear from all sides while the remaining one continued to slowly walk towards him. The level on the flicker made it seem everyone of me was a tangible person.

Big bear was truly no veteran Anbu for show. He held himself against the assault, blocking and receiving those he couldn't with his large body.

'Earth Style: Shattered Earth Wave.' Seemingly unable to take it unable to take it anymore, and overcome by rage, Big bear struck the ground hard with a punch. The earth continuously broke apart and moved outwards in waves, picking up dust, which went on to destroy and mow down trees as the jutsu went a few meters beyond the cleared field.

When the dust finally cleared, I was squatting on a downed Big Bear with my kunai inside the side of his mouth, a grin blossoming on my face. It felt like such a position was godsent. I could not help myself in my excitement and asked.

"Why So serious?!"
