Keira didn't leap into his arms. She didn't fancy getting dirtier than she already was, and Ahren looked more like some serial killer right now with all the blood on him. Seriously, how was he eating looking like that?
Then again, she didn't know what his circumstances had been like.
Glancing around, she noticed how many gobbled down their food like they hadn't eaten much in days. Keira had been fortunate to claim the territory where they could hunt freely. If nobody was trying to kill her, she would have happily shared.
Ahren sat down, eyes narrowing slightly as he assessed Keira. "What's that about?" He was still suspicious about Katrina. "You're friends now?"
Keira wasn't entirely sure what it meant. "We were partners." She shrugged in her brief explanation.
Ahren's brows rose. "Neither of you tried to kill each other?"
Keira glanced at her friend's navy shorts and the blood splatter on his broad chest. "You did?"
