Few days after waking up, Dawn had tried to test the limits of his new and strange power.
Standing inside the lobby of the newly built health care center for the pokemon, Dawn came here after checking up on the pokemon babies which are standing in a neat line behind him and following him around like baby ducks. He brought the babies to the medical room for a complete medical check-up.
The building has a big <P> logo on it. Inside it, there is a nurse waiting to take care of the pokemons. The nurse will be an islander who worked in shifts here. The one who worked here will get special treatment, that is, kids will call this nurse as 'Nurse Joy' around the island.
"Terraform, this word is the closest one to describe the divinity inside of you."
Ryan shared his hypothesis to Dawn as he is on the island at this moment. In his hand, there is a stack of paper – reports of the experiments he had done.
Kai is also there in a lab coat, taking care of the baby charmander and checking their health. He put the stethoscope on the belly of the charmander, making it giggle.
In the level 3 marketplace, Ryan had bought a lot of beast and animal medical related knowledge to ensure the pokemon babies didn't have any complications because of the forceful hatching process.
"The life part?" Dawn asked casually as he took the pokemon that had finished its checkup from Kai. He is wondering that, if his power is terraforming, how can he hatch the almost dead eggs?
"To be honest I am not sure either. I have copied the power and tried to use it with my body, but it looks like I can only listen to the sound of nature and control the element and plant life."
Using Dawn's unique divinity, Ryan can alter the molecular arrangement of any plant life and even summon rain and clear the sky of the clouds. He can calm the sea but only a small area of it – smaller than the size of this island.
If Dawn is on a deserted planet, he can even combine the atmosphere and mix the molecular structure of any atom, so mixing hydrogen and oxygen ain't that much of a deal but its results will be a big deal. He can even create clouds and summon lightning and rain if given enough time.
However, he is at the starting line of having his own divinity. It will take him a long time to understand it.
"Didn't Hela's divinity consist of molecular rearrangement? Did you steal it from her?" Kai chided playfully.
He teases the nose of the charmander who is trying to bite his finger – not that it has any teeth. It seems that he will need to teach the young pokemon's about not to hurt any humans so it won't create any troubles for the future .
Hela uses her divinity to create the necrosword she is using. The sword is created by her divinity and it is imbued with her power of death, she wielded. That is why she can kill the Asgardian gods so easily. Only beings that are on the level of Odin can survive from the divinity of death .
Dawn is similar to her but his divinity focuses more on life. The deer god realised something after Kai asked his question. He ignored the question though as he too is puzzled as to why he and Hela got a similar type of power.
"Wait, Hela was there…when the babies were hatching out of their egg …"
"Hmm? Did Hela being there with you caused it? Why would you think something like that ?" Ryan asked with curiosity.
"I don't know. I feel like if she is with me I can do something…more…" Dawn answered honestly.
Kai and Ryan are silent after hearing Dawn's answer.
"Nevermind that, what is the earth telling you…it is approaching right?" Kai asked with concern. This matter ain't small. If they can prepare for it earlier, it would be for the best.
"It is, however, I am unable to pinpoint the exact location of where it could happen," Dawn answered. The babies have already finished their checkup. He will send them back to their mother.
"I am monitoring the seismographic data of the entire earth. Let's see who can find the location first," Ryan said in a teasing tone. He did take this matter seriously, even though it doesn't seem like it.
…
11 March 2011.
In Japan, 2.00 p.m.
"Sir, we need to evacuate all of the people!" A seismograph scientist by the name of Yusuke is frantically trying to convince the government to give the evacuation order, especially in the city of Tohoka.
"The other scientist didn't have the same result as you. You are thinking too much. It will be a small earthquake like always and even if it can be a bigger earthquake even then, our country's sea wall can handle it," The government's official at Japan Meteorological Research dismisses the scientist's hypothesis.
"LISTEN TO ME! WE WON"T BE ABLE TO TAKE IT! YOU WILL KILL COUNTLESS LIFE!!!"
The scientist pounced at the officers until they fell to the ground. He grabbed the old officer's collar and shook the bastard to put some sense into him. He screamed about this matter until his spit was all over the old official face.
The scientist was stopped by a few government officials under the old man, and was dragged away. Even then, he kept screaming at the old man. "(Konoyaro!) Bastard! You're jeopardising everything!"
He yelled until his throat was sore. However, the government people aren't listening to him.
'Is it my fault? How…can I make them understand…'
The man kneeled in despair outside the government meteorological building.
The old man tried to fix his damaged collar and frowned in annoyance as he looked outside the window to the sight of the kneeling man.
"Fire him… Put the reason as 'he is insane and hostile' in the reason. Let him never find any jobs again," he ordered his subordinate who was holding an object he picked up from the floor.
Yusuke stayed like that for a few minutes before he decided on something. Wiping his tears, he picked himself up and searched for his phone.
"It's not there?"
He rummages around his trouser pockets, but he couldn't find his smartphone with the cracked screen as it wasn't even there.
He looked around frantically and searched for another way. He grabbed a random person on the streets, trying to ask them something.
"Can you give me your phone? I need to contact someone!"
He asked rudely as he is panicking and very restless at the moment. However, the random oba-san in the street nodded and asked him whom he wanted to call. The only people in his mind are the people who have saved the world before.
"The…A- Avengers!"
"Are you crazy!?" The middle aged woman yelled at him and walked away.
Desperate, he tries to grab another person. But the cops received a report and he was put into custody.
In less than an hour, the old man will regret the decision that he made, not listening to the scientist. By then, the situation will already be unsalvageable…for him.
The old man ran outside the building, catching the pedestrian on the streets.
"Wh- WHERE DID YUSUKE GOES!"
…
2.30 p.m.
*Ding*
Most of the residents of the island country got a message on their phone. The text warned them about an earthquake incoming.
"Wait? 2.46 pm?" The resident who is preparing for the earthquake is confused. They consider it to be a typo, as the early warning system usually only gave them 1 or 2 minutes to prepare.
The message also carried an alarming content. All residents at the coastal city needed to evacuate! Aim for the high ground.
Thousands of robots and drones dropped from a mothership in the city of Tahoka, and are helping people evacuate. Ryan's disaster relief assistance barely managed to pass by the country's legislation and can be stationed in Japan.
However, the ship needed to be stationed far away from the cities and won't interfere with Japan's airspace. Military craft will fly by the station daily, to make sure that the initiative isn't a plot by the Americans.
"The Avengers?" The residents of the city are in awe after seeing the things that they could only see on TV. The brainbots are now actively helping people to move. Some are taking pictures of the robots as they evacuate.
Nonetheless, everyone was taking things seriously and started to move away from the coastal line, onto the higher ground. The Avenger taking part in this matter is signalling to the people the seriousness of this matter.
Other than the die-hard nationalist who are trying to attack the drones , the residents of the country are undergoing a huge migration toward the highest grounds that they can get, abandoning their homes in the coastal cities. Even those who wanted to stay at the rooftop of a 3 story building were warned and persuaded to leave the area. But if they are being stubborn, the robots and drones won't bother with them more than twice.
It seemed to be a smooth process from the outside view, but in the country's internal governance institution, people are violently arguing against one another. This happened all because of one person who decided to interfere.
…
At the same time Yusuke is kicked out from the research center. SHIELD doesn't have any jurisdiction in Japan. However, they can interfere if they get permission from the world security council.
Nick Fury got an email from a person of interest, with a highly advanced analysis of what is going to happen. The director was sharing the analysis of the natural disaster that is about to come, but the response he got… was disappointing.
"SHIELD is not to interfere in this matter. This is a natural disaster, not an active threat toward the earth,''
"Sir, with all due respect. A nuclear meltdown will bring catastrophic results toward the country. We need to at least warn them, " Fury argued.
"We did warn them. We sent the research to their meteorological center and told them that the 'Oracle' had predicted something. To be honest, a lot of the data is still ambiguous and doesn't make sense as to how Ryan Knight got it."
Gideon Malik, a member of the world security council shared this with the rest of the council members. He is using instigative wording so that people will view Ryan as a threat. For Hydra, this type of ability that can predict the future is the most dangerous one.
Hydra's sleeper agents inside Japan's government are now all activated, and are now working hard to ensure the process of evacuation isn't working well.
"The government there is arguing that Ryan had illegally collected data inside the country of Japan." Pamela Hawley notified with a steady tone. However, she is cursing the Japan representative on the inside.
Her act of stating the truth without any bias is making Gideon Malik curse her on the inside.
She supported Ryan Knight in his ways of doing things – not jumping to act as a savior alone. Instead, he goes through the proper channel. Even during the New York War, Ryan got permission from the country for his actions.
She didn't have any negative feelings toward the Knight's family either – even though they had clashed with Shield's members and apprehended their operatives before. She figured she would do the same thing if she was in Ryan's position.
The council member from India, Jakuna Singh is cutting into the conversation.
"Ryan Knight predicted a 8.9 to 9.0 magnitude earthquake before it happened. His disaster relief initiative wasn't planned in one or two days. He had prepared for this event for a few years. His data is authentic and Shield's researcher has confirmed it. To accuse him as suspicious as he is trying to help, are the Japanese trying to sabotage saving their own people? "
This particular council member is a bit biased toward Ryan Knight as the latter had helped his country multiple times before – In technological and agricultural aspects.
He figured that the small amount of time which is left should be used to help the people there, not to bicker about someone who is trying to help them.
Gideon Malik had a solemn expression the entire time during the debate. 'It seemed Ryan Knight is more influential than we thought.'
A plan to take care of Ryan is brewing in his mind as Hydra couldn't leave Ryan alone anymore – despite Arnim Zola warning them not to do anything. Gideon even thought that maybe Zola was compromised. But he shakes his head as it is impossible for anyone to do that.
…
Inside the Avenger tower.
After an intense argument with the Japanese government, Ryan finally got permission to evacuate the people in the coastal cities. However, the nuclear plant will be handled by the country's own people.
"Let just hope they didn't make a stupid decision," Ryan muttered to himself. He was exhausted and had lost half an hour trying to get the permission.
"Shouldn't we go there?" Bruce asked anxiously. He is staying at the tower with Ryan as his brain is worth more than his brawn in these situations.
Near the coast area of Japan, the Avenger jet is doing deep sea scanning and is preparing for the worst. Only people with high mobility will be included in this mission. Kai, Tony and Steve with his jetpack are standing by the coastal area.
The time is almost 2.46 pm.
"It started," Ryan said as he monitored the effect through a computer screen.
A massive earthquake showed its might on the entire Japan's peninsula, causing buildings with poor structure to crash, glass breaking and debris falling inside the house.
Stopping high-speed trains and factory assembly lines, the country had tried to do the best they could to ensure minimum damage toward the country. After having their own researcher study the data that Ryan gave, only then did they accept the fact that the event will be larger than they prepared for.
East of Japan, under the sea the Pacific plate dives beneath the overriding Eurasian plate. The temblor completely released centuries of built up stress between the two tectonic plates.
It was centered on the seafloor 45 miles (72 kilometers) east of Tohoku, at a depth of 15 miles (24 km) below the surface. The shaking lasted for about six minutes.
After the shaking subsided, the previous apprehension toward Ryan's effort completely disappeared. The earthquake that the citizen's felt is the largest one yet!
"Now, for the real damage," Ryan said solemnly as he watched the sea movement. The water at the beach is retreating toward the sea, preparing for the tsunami that will come with it.
This is the report of the incident that will come out afterward.
<Less than an hour after the earthquake, the first of many tsunami waves hit Japan's coastline. The tsunami waves reached run-up heights (how far the wave surges inland above sea level) of up to 128 feet (39 meters) at Miyako city and traveled inland as far as 6 miles (10 km) in Sendai. The tsunami flooded an estimated area of approximately 217 square miles (561 square kilometers) in Japan.>
However, for the people who went through this disaster, no word can describe their horror as Poseidon's wrath is upon them.
"The nuclear power plant is in danger! A total nuclear meltdown is imminent!!! "
The Japanese nuclear plant director reported it to the government. The inside of the power plant's are collapsing – debrises is falling on top of the workers, making it impossible for them to evacuate.
