CHAPTER FIFTEEN (I AM SCREWED)

They all looked at the young hottie, as Adebisi called him, in front of them and nodded.

He was indeed looking capable and he also talks like a true business man.

"I will like to plead with all of you to please work hand in hand with him like you did with me to take the company to the highest place there is in Nigeria and Abroad. He has also been kind enough to beg his uncle to retain all the staffs or else you would have all been fired, bye bye. In short sacked." Mr Luis said using sign languages.

"But don't forget, he can still fire anyone who misbehaves and doesn't act accordingly and I will not be able to do anything about it." He was still talking when his slim oyinbo (white) girlfriend or wife came back to call him to the room.

"Okay baby." He said and turned back towards the staffs who were still shocked by what they were seeing before them.

"I will go now. Please make your new boss proud of you." He waved at them and cut the video call.

"As you have heard, it has been confirmed that I am your new boss therefore whatever respect you have been giving to your old boss should be accorded to me as well." Sam said looking at Tinuke. She understood.

"I am totally screwed." She wispered to herself in pain and swallowed hard.

He finished addressing them and they were about to leave when he stopped them and said.

"Mrs Atinuke Demilade." I frozed after hearing my name, couldn't he even let my misbehavior slide for just the first day.

"Yes sir." Tinuke answered fearing for her life.

"You have been demoted to my secretary and the secretary has been promoted to your position." My eyes opened wide as I heard this, it was rather strange to my ears.

"Could something be wrong with my hearing? I have been promoted overnight?" Adebisi asked surprised.

"But sir, you can't do this to me. I have been very diligent in my work." I protested hoping he would stop and tell me that it was just a joke.

"Sir? That's good, I think I am doing very well." Sam said with a tiny smile at the side of his mouth.

"You are demoted and that's final. Tomorrow morning, I want both of you to have changed your positions before I come in but if neither of you are not satisfied with this, then please kindly drop your resignation letter." After saying this, the others left the office but Tinuke couldn't.

"How can he be so mean?" I asked myself.

When he saw that she didn't leave and just stood there starring at him, he said to her.

"Don't worry, I won't be cutting your salary, you will get the same as you always do. This is your purnishment for being rude and misbehaving with me."

When she still didn't leave, he said in annoyance.

"Get out, you being a distraction." I silently walked out but I was so upset.

With anger burning in me I went back to my desk but more than twenty questioning eyes were waiting for me there. When they saw me they gathered around to hear what had transpired after they left.

What!!! They all exclaimed.

"Is he the neighbor you are always complaining about?" Adebisi asked shocked by this.

"Yes."

"Oh my, but my hottie doesn't seem to be capable of all the evils you claimed your neighbor did to you." Adebisi said.

"So you think I am lying?" I asked getting more upset.

"I feel so happy that you are screwed." Said Mary, one of the staffs who is so envious of Tinuke but she doesn't hid her envy and is always open about it.

"Then just jump up and shout for joy." Adebisi said mocking her and defending her dear friend.

Mary looked upset, she got up and left them.

"God, I feel so sorry for you because after all the things you said you did to him, I am very sure he will try to exact revenge." Adebisi said.

"He has already started, look I got demoted to secretary." Tinuke replied and squeezed her face in an attempt to cry.

"I wonder what she is doing now after this shock." Sam said smiling while moving around on his chair.

"Should I go and check?" He asked himself and quickly shake his head in disagreement.

"No, I shouldn't do that." He decided to get rid of his thoughts about her and focus on the tasks ahead.

I woke up as usual, exhausted from crying so much last night. I couldn't just believe I have suddenly become a secretary to my very annoying neighbor, I will have to treat him better from now on if I don't want more demotions for myself.

I went to the bathroom, brushed my teeth and took my bath. Then went to my wardrobe and brought out the ironed office cloths I kept there.

Adebisi had also given me so many documents and tips to being a great secretary. Gosh, I never knew secretaries had to work so hard.

Remembering each and every meeting, choosing the kind of clothes he needs for a meeting, a secretary should also know at least five foreign languages...

Chi, chichi chichi, will you marry me, chichi chichi can you handle me... My phone was ringing. I quickly ran to the sitting room to pick up the phone from my tiny glass center table.

Hello, who is this!! I said to the caller.

"You don't even recognize your mom's voice." Mrs Dupe said to her daughter.
