The boy woke up as a giant turtle in the Pacific Rim. This is a story about a guy with a good moral compass. If you want to read how MC destroys cities and sinks ships, then this fanfic is not for you. There will be no magical transformation back into a human. This is my first fanfic. English is not my native language, so I used a translator. In the first chapters, I used GPT for some paragraphs of text, but the result is not satisfactory. Then everything is manual work. I do not own the rights to the universe and characters in this story.
POV: Marshal
Upon receiving word that Torterra had awakened, the Marshal immediately flew to his island to explain everything that had happened over the past year while he was asleep. But when he was halfway there, Mr. Choi announced that Torterra was sailing to Antarctica.
'It seems he already knows where the enemy is. I'm wasting my time thinking about how to talk to him…' Marshal thought with a slight smile on his face.
A lot of white hair appeared on his head from the stress, from the occultists attacking him to the political strife.
He was pleased that Torterra was so reliable. He himself knew where the enemy was and immediately began to solve the problems that were bothering the Marshal. Now that he has woken up, all the problems will be solved one by one and you can prepare to enter the portal.
Now that the Marshal had power, he would never allow "misunderstandings" with Torterra again. Even cloning projects were open to him, and he had already sent Mr. Newton to these laboratories to participate in them.
Remembering Mr. Newton, his project to create super soldiers got a new boost when he got all the information about creating clones and half-titans. He even figured out how to create people with Titan blood without using children or waiting for them to grow up. This was the problem he faced because all animals were changed before they were born.
The marshal was watching Torterra from a control post in Alaska. He watched it from satellites and saw how it made a hole in the ice and went down. After some time, several explosions were heard there, the area around that place collapsed, forming a crater several kilometers in size.
He fought and destroyed the White Thorns without even asking or even waiting for people to ask him. This was the thing that Marshal valued most in him. When you have an ally who is driving things forward on his own, it forces the Marshal to stand behind him and rest a little.
Marshal sat down in a chair and relaxed, not for long. He had already received from Mr. Choi that all the White Thorns at the front had stopped attacking and retreated, allowing the soldiers to catch their breath. Maybe the White Thorns just want to wait and see how it all ends, or they're changing their tactics - it didn't matter now.
The main thing is that now people will win this war. Humanity retreated for more than half a year. Many refugees moved to the north, fleeing from these monsters, and the whole world lived with a sense of defeat.
POV: Torterra
After melting the ice around me, I found my favorite ax and went to find the queen. She wasn't far from me so I followed the tunnels that made the Kaiju. Sometimes I saw several White Thorns and immediately crushed them like bugs, or destroyed them by hitting them with the side of an ax. They could not withstand a single blow and disappeared immediately, leaving behind only a blue stain.
Some of these monsters were shooting at me from their tails with something I couldn't even see. I could only see fine lines left in the water. These lines were the flight paths of their spikes, so I could tell from which crack in the ice they were shooting at me.
In these tunnels under the ice, I spent half a day walking in the direction where I sensed the queen, but as soon as I approached her, she ran away. Sometimes I even made my own passes in the ice to catch up with the queen faster, but I never managed to catch her.
By the third day, I even stopped killing the White Thorns around me. They were hiding in holes in the walls and shooting at me, but I got tired of them, so I started to ignore them. Once I even found a clutch of eggs that were hidden in a wall and covered in ice. After burning them, I began to pay more attention to the walls and I managed to find a few more bricks.
But the queen was elusive. She constantly moved with the majority of the swarm, which protected her and brought her food.
ROOAAARRR
Come on! Get out! Cowards! Or you only can kill the weak one? You are not worthy to rule this planet!'
I shouted in anger. Walking through these catacombs for a whole week exhausted me mentally. I realized that I was wasting time here. I will never be able to catch up with the queen. I had to come up with something to catch up with her. But in this case, a jet pack will not help. As soon as my foot touches the ice, the queen will immediately run away. I don't even have time to release my fire to make an opening to her.
'Fine! Perfectly! I understood everything! Do you want to continue hiding? Perfectly!'
I had enough. I decided to return to the island and figure out how to get this queen and her entire clan. I will come back here and then I will burn them all.
Having decided so, I swam away from here.
I could have sailed to Africa and dealt with the clones, but I decided to take my jet pack for that. Africa is very big and walking across it will take a long time, even for me.
POV: Marshal
From satellites, we saw the temperature rise in Antarctica every time Torterra shot fire. Such things are visible even if the heat source is at a depth of 2 km under the ice. The satellites saw everything with the help of infrared rays.
The White Thorns resumed their attacks. They can continue to attack even if there is no one left in their nest, so I expected that. But I didn't expect that Torterra would be wandering under the ice of Antarctica for a whole week.
When he finally left, I flew back to his island to talk. But Ruby was the first to return to the island. How she knew Torterra was coming back, I don't know. But she was all the time on the islands, eating plants and absorbing radiation, which people began to supply there again.
I watched a 25-meter turtle climb out of the water onto the island. She was brown with a hint of burgundy, and her large eyes looked around curiously. Water was flowing from her, and she had blue plants in her mouth.
At first Ruby hated these plants and the water around the island, but when she absorbed enough radiation and grew up, she started to try them and now it's hard to tear her away from these plants. She has been reducing our harvests from this island every time when she came here.
"Ruby! You're back!" I saw Yun run up to Ruby and start climbing on top of her head. Ruby always liked to ride her and would lower her bare one so that it would be easier for Yun to climb on her. Together they walked around the island, preventing people from working. Sometimes they lay down in front of the entrance, interfering with people going in and out of the bunker. Surprisingly, Ruby understood that it was all a joke and liked to do it too, even when Yun wasn't on the island.
Unfortunately, the other demi-titans are not so smart, especially the spiders that have bred on the flesh of the White Thorns and will soon become another swarm in the world to contend with. Maybe the other half-titans would be the same as Ruby if they weren't immediately released to war after a few years of life…
SHSHSH
The water became very turbulent and the next moment it exploded, revealing Torterra in all his glory.
"Oh my God, he got bigger again!" Yun said. Ruby immediately ran to the Titan's feet with her head held high. Yun had to get off her to keep from falling. She somehow learned to slide over Ruby's legs and was on the ground in a moment.
Torterra stared at Ruby for a while, and then I thought he smiled at her and crouched down to pick her up, then threw her a hundred meters into the air! I was shocked by their interaction. They had sort of been talking before this and Ruby was now getting a good dose of fun as a reward.
I could only guess what the Titan was praising Ruby for…
Constantly, when I remember those events, my back is covered with cold sweat. If it hadn't been for Ruby, I would have died and no one would have known who did it.
