IE: Chapter 69. How Did You Know Where They Were?

Burlington County, a region of New Jersey, had a population of only about 400,000. It was sparsely populated. On the banks of the Delaware River, there were even fewer homes, only a few farmers, ranchers and other such people.

It was 11 o'clock at night and there were few lights around. It was pitch black. There seemed to be something in the sky, rapidly falling towards the banks.

A could of splashes rose from the river, scaring the small animals in the area. The dust cleared and a container-sized ship was revealed.

The door of the spaceship opened, and a cat-like creature emerged from it. However, it was walking upright on two feet.

"Horton, we're here. Where are you?"

Not far away, three men emerged from the woods. The leader was dressed like a celebrity, and his features looked exceptionally handsome. Behind him were two men, each carrying a suitcase.

"Stan, my friend, you're finally here. You brought what I asked for, didn't you?"

"Sure, what about what I want?" Stan asked in return.

"Right here. Vidal, you go and inspect the goods with Stan. Stan, have your people come over and check."

The case was opened, Stan took a look at some stones in the case, and took out some kind of device to examine it carefully.

"The purity isn't bad, it can extract a lot of energy. Horton, I'm very satisfied this time. But why are you dressed like that? It's ridiculous." Stan looked at Horton's face, very despised.

"This face will allow me to hide better on Earth, and there are many women on Earth who like it. You wouldn't understand."

Horton watched as Vidal emerged from the ship, carrying a crate. The grin on his face grew bigger. 'I didn't think that Stan would sell this kind of good stuff to the Juventians. He's really making a fortune.'

"Why do we have to trade on Earth? It's too remote here." Stan complained, "Do you know how long I've been traveling? You have to find a better place next time."

"Earth is very remote, but that's what makes it safe."

"Are you sure? I heard there was a group called the Men in Black on Earth. They were the ones who took out Serleena. Right now, Kylothian forces are shrinking, and many planets Serleena had occupied are starting to resist, especially Zartha. Some people are saying that they had welcomed back some members of the royal family, to wipe out the Kylothians once and for all."

"Hahaha. How strong do you really think that earthling organization is? They killed Serleena, but that was just luck. Serleena brought very few people with her, trying to suppress the news about the Light of Zartha, but she was ambushed. Serleena wouldn't have died so easily if she hadn't been too obsessed with the Light of Zartha."

"Don't worry, those men in black won't be a problem, at least not until our deal is done."

By now Noah was cautiously approaching the river with J. J was about to move forward but Noah pulled him back.

"This way, go around."

"Why are we going the long way around? We don't have time. Didn't you feel the vibrations on the ground just now? It must be the alien ship we're waiting for!"

"Listen to me. Some aliens are hiding in ambush in front."

'Aliens?' J tried to open his eyes wider, but he didn't see anything. Besides it was quite dark, and the woods were blocking the moonlight. 'How could N see them?'

"Are you sure? There's nothing in front of us." J took out his night vision goggles and still couldn't see anyone.

"Trust me, this way. Those aliens aren't going to finish their deal that quickly."

Noah walked around with J, taking the long route. He suddenly stopped, "Your 9 o'clock, about 300 meters, there's an alien hiding there. Remember to count before you shoot. Use a carbon laser gun, and remember to set it at 300 meters."

J: "???"

'Are you kidding? 300 meters away, in the woods in darkness? How did you know where they were?'

Noah didn't answer. Instead, he used the laser gun in his hand and fired a shot at him at 5 o'clock.

Hearing the harsh screech, J immediately fired a shot at his 9. There was a blast from up ahead and some pink flames emerging, as the piercing screams died down.

"Bulls eye. Let's hurry over, the aliens must have heard us."

J just froze for a second and ran after Noah. That scream just now didn't sound like a creature from Earth, 'Were there really aliens lying in ambush there?'

"Be careful and keep quiet, behind that tree up ahead, there's an alien, let's go around quietly and take him out."

J was confused, but he didn't say anything. 'How did you manage to see behind the tree? I didn't even see a shadow!'

But when he followed Noah around, he literally saw a four-armed alien perched in a tree.

The alien opened its mouth and tried to swallow them.

J didn't hesitate to fire this time, and another alien was blown away.

"Ok, All the hiding aliens are out of the picture. Head right, up ahead. That's where the deal is taking place."

Horton had just said that no one would cause problems, then he heard the explosion. He glanced back; wasn't that where his men had been waiting?

Luckily, he had arranged for more than one of his men to hide, not only to prevent anyone from causing trouble, but also to prevent Stan, a man who didn't have a very good reputation among interstellar traders, from trying anything funny.

Stan ignored Horton's words and immediately ran back to his ship, carrying the two boxes.

Once on board, Stan quickly shouted to his men, "Take off right now, let's get off the planet. That idiot Horton is being targeted by the M.I.B, I don't want any trouble."

Once the ship had fired up and taken off, Stan looked through the monitors and saw Horton jumping and cursing at his ship. 'Humph!' He had filled one box with weapons, but in the other box, it was just some scraps. He was sure that they would only check one box.

He opened one of the boxes he got with a smile on his face, but it instantly changed. He jumped to his feet and cursed, "Horton, you damn bastard! I'm never doing business with you again! I hope those Men in Black kill you!"

Of the two boxes, only one box was filled with energy stones, and the other box was filled with ordinary stones!

Noah had just rushed out of the woods when he saw the spaceship heading for the sky. But he wasn't too late, Weren't there a few more aliens by the river?
