IE: Chapter 61. Alien Registration Program.

"An alien who looks exactly like me? I haven't seen him, and you're already sending him away?" J finally understood why many of his colleagues were looking a bit strangely at him today.

"What's the point of meeting him? Don't you look in the mirror every day? "

"I would've asked him to pretend to be me and meet some of my colleagues. Especially the physically stronger alien ones." J had a look of regret on his face, wondering what those physically strong aliens would look like after they were suddenly defeated by 'him'.

"Aren't you worried about what they would do when they find out later? Anyway, how did your mission to New Jersey go?"

"Mission accomplished, of course. It was just one little guy, easy to catch. According to the law, he should be imprisoned for at least 10 years. He's going to LunarMax once they get a transport ship ready. Or, he might get someone from his family to pay bail."

"Listen, the guy still tried to resist after I showed him my ID. I took him down in three moves! "

  ...

With a happy-go-lucky person like J, Noah felt better. Although Hancock couldn't stay, Noah was relieved. He heard that Professor Kidd was jumping up and down in anger because of the damage to the De-Neuralyzer.

But soon, the Professor was back to studying Hancock's genetics, and the living samples they had never seen before had to be studied as soon as possible.

The next morning, Noah appeared in Professor Kidd's office.

"N, you're here. I have some questions. I hope you can answer them carefully. In Los Angeles, there's another Angel species, right?"

"Yes, it's a woman named Mary."

"Do you think I could get some blood samples from her? I heard that when they get close to each other, they will transform into something similar to an Earthling. Is that right?"

"It should be true. They weren't in contact for a long time, but when Hancock got close to her, he still became a bit weak. Professor Kidd, you're not asking me to bring Mary back here, are you?"

"No, someone is already there."

Noah abruptly stood up, "Who went there? Why didn't you tell me?"

"What's wrong? Our colleagues have dealt with this kind of thing many times, so there is no need to worry. One more thing, we are going to try to use Hancock's genes and fuse them with your genes to engineer them. I'm afraid the other genes can't handle it; Hancock's genes are too powerful."

"You could also try a gene fusion with J's. They're so similar, so they might be able to fuse better."

"Whatever, I have work." Noah quickly left and soon appeared in Zed's office.

"N, what can I do for you?" Zed was looking at a document establishing diplomatic relations between aliens. After Serleena was exterminated on Earth, it was much easier for them to establish diplomatic relations with other planets.

Those powerful alien planets were no longer aggressive. It seems that Serleena's arrival wasn't entirely a bad thing.

"Did you send someone to find Mary, the angel race alien from Angelos? "

"Yes. Do you want to be in charge of this? We're just sending someone to make contact and see if she wants to join the M.I.B, nothing else. I'm well aware of the power of the Angels."

Zed had sent over the most eloquent agent in the organisation, who was also female and could surely communicate with Mary better.

"By the way, I have another mission here. I want you to lead it. Take a look, and tell me what you think."

Reading the title of the document, Noah froze for a moment. It was called -- Alien Registration Program.

It seems that Hancock and Mary's appearance made Zed realise that there were still a lot of aliens lurking on Earth, not knowing when they might pose a danger to the people of Earth.

The principle of the organisation was to stop ordinary people from finding out about the existence of aliens. Ignorance is bliss. Once the news got out, not only would ordinary people panic, but those political forces would try to intervene in any way they could. That was the last thing the M.I.B wanted.

Noah closed the file, "Chief, this is a lot of work. Are you sure we have enough manpower?"

They had to investigate all the suspected people, investigate all the miraculous events, and investigate everyone that had gone beyond the boundaries of the ordinary.

"But it has to be done, right?" Zed looked at Noah, "Hancock was fine because he looks like an ordinary Earthling when he's not using his powers. But, have you ever thought of what might happen if he caused damage? His profile showed that he had injured several people in Los Angeles, although some of them weren't good people."

"He is well hidden among Earthlings, like a needle in a haystack. We wouldn't have noticed him if you didn't meet him, it would be very difficult to track him down. So, we need to register them, locate them and protect the people of Earth."

"How many more of these aliens are there? Apart from those that look like Earthlings, a lot of them look like animals."

"We're not a political organisation. We are just trying to protect our homes and protect our fellow human beings. I just want you to try your best to find hidden aliens on Earth."

"I will try my best to make it happen, Chief. Is your back okay now? You should take a break."

No one was more suitable for this mission than Noah because he had his Alien Radar. Unfortunately, the Alien Radar still had a limited range, while Earth was so big. Using it wasn't that practical, so he could only promise that he would do his best.

"I'm okay, this program will be distributed to all the field agents tomorrow. You can continue to patrol the streets for now. I want you to locate any unregistered aliens in the vicinity. But remember, don't draw any attention to yourself."

Being able to go on patrols made Noah happy. Sitting in headquarters every day was boring, and he wondered how those other agents managed to do it.

Watching N leave, Zed rubbed his back. He had tried to spar with Noah yesterday and hurt his back. Even if he was treated, it hadn't completely healed.

During his time in the field, he had been treated for all sorts of injuries. This time, his body had started to resist the alien medications. He was starting to consider retirement and follow K's example. He remembered that he was still a young man when he founded the M.I.B with K and the others.

Now, they were just a group of old people, many of whom were no longer with them. He had already dealt with the matter of diplomatic relations with other planets, and it was time to consider the matter of successor.

K was once his favourite, but the guy had already retired. Now, it was down to O, C, and H. These three had both the brains and the experience in dealing with aliens. They also had good relations with some of the outer planets.

'As for M, forget it. That guy doesn't have any patience.'

K had chosen a great successor. N and J were both excellent but too young. They still need to accumulate experience, but they could be trained as future top agents.

Zed picked up another file from his desk. It was a report about some recently captured aliens that needed to be sent to LunarMax, enough for a boatload. Then, he signed his name.

'If Mary could be placed as one of the correctional officers in Lunar Max, Agent W could be transferred back. N said that she was better at fighting than Hancock.'

The phone on the table suddenly rang, and Zed had a bit of a headache; people would only contact him for bad news at this time of day.
