Chapter 37-A Dark and Bitter Fate Finale

From the farmhouse, Bell stares at the beam of yellow light with Ru in hand and Rose behind her.

"What could that be?" Bell asked as Ru reached for the light.

Ru had some sort of connection to it and yet he couldn't figure it out himself. So he just reached his arm out.

"Whatever it is, it can't be good. We must be ready to leave in case something happens."

"What about Okara and Crimson?"

"I'm sure they'll find their way back to us. We just have to trust that."

Still flying toward the beam of light Okara hurries with worries in his heart. The words Salas said, the fact that Cassa could be there, and...

"I need to go faster damn it! Faster!"

Okara's speed increased slightly as he bursts off even faster towards it.

As he approached the pressure from the pillar was getting stronger and the energy began feeling similar... Very similar.

The rain struck down consistently as he quickly landed in the destroyed village, and stood beside the pillar itself.

"There's no way this is her energy... There's so much, it feels like she's been here the entire, time."

It started connecting for Okara, every piece was coming together as he understood what was happening. When the topaz vanished along with Cassa when Salas and Astrid were becoming more aggressive. They had all this planned. This is exactly what Astrid had planned and Salas was just pulled in by a different objective.

"Those bastards! Motherfuckers... Used her to fulfill their plans!"

Okara fell to his knees as his anger shook his body. He felt it, something sinister infesting within his body. It was different from the other anger he's felt, it was new something stronger and downright blood-curdling. Till an ember of past hope kicked in and he realized he still hasn't found Cassa. So with a deep breath, he stood up and began looking around. Noticing tracks of footprints and indents within the mud around him.

"There was a struggle... But who was fighting?"

Okara began looking around for clues, first, he found the metal bar covered with Crimson's blood. Yet he couldn't tell whose it was. For all, he knew it could've been a villager's body that was absorbed by the disease.

Next, he found strands of hair sticking out of the mud around the giant body-like indents.

"This must be her hair... But what was she fighting?" Okara asked

Till he noticed more hair beside him this time it was red hair... Dark red hair.

"What on earth could have this kind of hair? Some kind of corrupted villager?"

The uneasy feeling began kicking in again and Okara continued wandering around trying to find more clues.

He traversed past the still intact houses and towards the hills behind the pillar. Wondering if anything would've been pushed over in this direction. So as he traversed the dead hills of grass, the color of scarlet began drooling down the hill as Okara ascended it. Each footstep felt heavy as reality started sinking in. The higher he went the more become apparent. His wife's hair, her outfit, her... blood. Okara's blood ran cold, as cold as the rain crashing down on him. Thunder rolled over the sky as he tramped closer to her. Tears filled his eyes as desperation took over.

"T-This can't be real... This has to be some sort of nightmare... I have to be, dreaming..."

Okara stumbled closer then tripped from dragging his feet. Falling face-first into the mud. Before shakily pushing himself up to crawling over to her. Mud dripped from his chin and chest and rain heavied his hair. His tears mixed with the rainwater that slithered down his cheeks. As he finally reached her, he propped onto his knees and pulled her into his arms.

"C-Cassa, Cassa say something... Please say something. This can't be right you can't be dead... You can't be gone, please move, please... C-C-C... Hey, hey Ru's waiting for us to come home together. So, please... Get up and say something."

Okara's pulled back as tears streamed from his squinted eyes, lightning struck simultaneously as he screamed in agony.

"CASSAAAA!!!!!!!"

His scream filled the air as the thunder roamed the dark and rainy sky.

Cassa's blood bleeding onto him as he continues holding her while she bleeds even more. His eyes still filled with tears, an unbearable amount of grief poured from Okara as he continued screaming. Suddenly he began ascending through numerous forms. Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan Two, Super Saiyan Three to Legendary. Then to Super Saiyan God. As the ground around him shattered he began floating with her in his arms, then as he opened his eyes something floated with the destroyed rocks. A piece of cloth, a familiar piece of brick red cloth.

In an instant that sinister feeling returned even stronger, as darkness surrounded him and threw him into a void of pitch black. The rain, thunder, and lightning are gone. Only Cassa was in his arms and a mirrored reflection stood before him. With dark underlines under his eyes, and a scar that traveled to the top of his forehead from his left cheek. This mirrored reflection smirked evilly without saying anything and held out his right hand. Offering something to Okara a new path one filled with a different fate.

Suddenly Cassa dissolved from his arms and slowly he reached out to it with his left hand. Placing it above the mirrored Okara's right hand. Their palms face each other before creating a bright light between them. The light filled the dark area and returned Okara to his original spot.

However as Okara set Cassa's body down with his eyes closed, he slowly stood up and tilted his head to the sky. Before opening them to reveal his new dark underlines and bubbled up tears within his eyes. He had taken the dark underlines from the sinister mirror of himself. But the apparent scar was nowhere to be seen. With one final look down at Cassa, Okara wipes away his tears and bursts off from the scene. Leaving his wife's body to remain unburied.

In a small forest about forty miles from New Westfall City, Crimson awakens and sits up slowly.

"W-Where am I..."

Crimson looks at his hands and then around at his surroundings.
