Falling for Miss Director

"Nature doesn't force love, it presents it to you, like a delicate rose in bloom." ***** As Sydney's gaze met Jordan's, her heart skipped a beat, and her words tangled in her throat. His piercing silver eyes sparkled like diamonds in the light, and his black tuxedo accentuated his chiseled features, making him look like a debonair prince. The warmth of his gentle smile enveloped her, and she felt like she was surrendering to the whisper of fate. This was love at first sight, but... Sydney's hand instinctively went to her stomach, and she rushed to the side, overwhelmed by a sudden wave of emotion. But it wasn't just her heart that was racing - her deepest fear was also stirring. L-O-V-E! Sydney Mia, the well-known director in the country, had always lived by her motto: "Rule the world with my movies, collect trophies, and gain a legendary reputation." Love was never part of the script, just a distant hum in the background.  But Jordan's presence was like a gentle earthquake, shaking the foundations of her heart, and awakening a longing she never knew existed. Yet, there was something about Jordan that was different. He was the calm in every storm, the safe haven where she could be herself and face her fears. As she opened her eyes, her hand still trembling, their gazes met once more. His silver eyes shone with an otherworldly intensity, filled with concern and kindness. "Are you okay?"  he asked, his voice low and soothing, like a gentle stream meandering through a lush meadow. In that moment, Sydney felt her walls begin to crumble, her fears slowly unraveling. Could Jordan be the one to finally awaken her heart, to show her that love wasn't a weakness, but a strength that could move mountains and shatter the shackles of deepest fears? Could he be the one to make her rewrite her motto, to make love the leading role in her life's script?

Sydney turned to Jordan, who was sitting on the car's bonnet, as she collected the cup of soda he had ordered.

She had lied to Pene about going on a date, but she had no idea Jordan would take her on a hangout like this.

They sat on the bonnet, parked at a popular movie theater, waiting for one of the best films in the country to be featured on the billboard.

Jordan had planned this simple hangout, but Sydney was unsure what kind of movie she was in for.

The atmosphere was tranquil under the stars, with a gentle breeze rustling through the peaceful surroundings.

They were parked alongside other cars; some couples sat inside their vehicles, while others sat outside, as they did.

Sydney elegantly stirred the straw in her cup as she drank the contents, but her stomach grumbled.

She looked at Jordan, hoping he had not observed her reaction. Jordan saw her stare and locked eyes with her, prompting Sydney to give a tentative smile before returning to her drink

She could not tell him about her predicament.

She clutched the cup and pressed her teeth against the straw, feeling a struggle within her.

"What are you happy about?" Sydney inquired, attempting to distract herself as she moved her glance to his.

Jordan touched his hot cheeks as she nodded.

"This is the first time I have had a fantasy come true," Jordan confessed.

Sydney gave a sneer.

"Really?" Sydney inquired, and he nodded again.

"So, what makes this special?"

"I get to sit in one of the greatest car parks and see a movie with the one I have always admired, and we get to see one of the films I directed."

Sydney chuckled and covered her mouth as she stopped drinking.

"Wow, I never expected to have a fan like you." She admits and takes another sip.

"Well, you might say that; after all, I had a lot to think about on this date, so maybe I can impress you a little, right?"

The following moment was filled with silence, with some time before the film began.

Jordan considered making the moment an interaction between them; it was worthwhile since he would learn more about her than just being a fantastic symbol.

"What movie are we going to watch?" Sydney asked before he could speak.

"Well, it's—" Jordan was ready to speak when the lights faded and the billboard lit up, displaying the movie trailer. Sydney's gaze shifted away from Jordan's to stare at it, but she could not keep it.

Her stomach growled, and she quickly placed the cup on the bonnet, bent her head, and vomited.

"Are you alright?" Jordan inquired anxiously as Sydney signaled for water as she continued to vomit.

He dashed to her side, splashing water on her skin.

"What happened, Sydney?" Jordan's gaze was filled with concern as she unveiled her face after washing.

She was going to speak when she took another look at the trailer, rolled up, got out of the bonnet, and swiftly entered the car.

Jordan was left perplexed, wondering what had transpired.

Was it something to do with him?

"Jordan, could we just go home?" Sydney queried as she remained in the automobile, scared of looking back at the trailer.

As much as he saw Sydney's eagerness to depart, he needed an explanation.

He approached the window and carefully placed his hands on the frame.

"If that is what you want, that is fine, but I apologize, Sydney. We are surrounded by other cars; it would be difficult to leave here."

Sydney's demeanor darkened, and the brightness in her eyes faded, but as she faced the board again, she felt an unexpected stir.

The film's content horrified her.

"How about a walk, then?" She blurted out, leaving Jordan perplexed.

She seemed completely good to see the movie just a moment ago, but at the sight of the trailer—

He hoped Sydney would tell him what was up with her.

He had a lot of questions, but he consented because the night was still peaceful and young, and they could enjoy it together.

"All right, then," he huffed.

They soon walked quietly down the automobile paths, but as they did so, Sydney spotted couples holding hands and others leaning in for a kiss before the movie began.

She averted her sight, but then noticed a pair peering into one other's eyes.

She was more furious than terrified and fled in another direction, leaving Jordan astonished.

Sydney assumed she had made the situation difficult, and it was best if she left before embarrassing herself further.

Jordan, however, was taken aback by her unexpected change of direction.

Jordan yelled after her, "Sydney," as he sprinted towards her and grabbed her wrist, stopping her.

"Sydney, is there anything I should know?" He asked calmly.

She turned around and adjusted the strands of hair that were flaunting towards her face.

She folded her arms, shrugged her shoulders, and nervously chewed her bottom lip as she exhaled.

"I am very sorry; I am sure I ruined the night. You planned this, and what did I do? Embarrassment in front of everybody."

"No, you did not spoil it. Besides, I never thought you embarrassed me; I only want to know what happened there." She glanced at him anxiously, with a lump in her throat.

"I had an allergic reaction," she admits.

Jordan's expression twitched as he sought to understand what she said.

"A reaction? You mean toward affectionate scenes?"

"Yes, that is what I mean. I could have told you, but it is a secret that few people know about." She took a big breath, paused, and ran her fingers through her hair.

"I understand you wanted me to watch your movie, but my illness intervened and ruined the scenario."

" Trust me, I am just glad you are fine. Besides, I was thinking I would certainly disgrace myself because you will have to criticize parts of the film. Then I will have to listen to a senior and reconsider my decision. I'm just glad it did not get a theatrical release. It would have been odd."

They both busted out laughing.

"So, since it is just us on this empty road, and we still have hours until the movie ends, why don't we take a walk around the neighborhood and talk? At the very least, that will not cause you to react, correct?"

Sydney let out a smile.

"Of course, I would like to hear a lot from you." Sydney murmured, then unexpectedly wrapped her arm over his.

"You know —" Jordan looked at Sydney with fa

scination as she blabbered while they walked.

Even though she was sick, he wished he could become her buddy and make her feel better.
