Archive 8: Knowing you know nothing.

"I choose location B."

[You have chosen location B as your destination… you will now be directed to the chosen location. Please brace yourself.]

Suddenly, Magnus felt like his body was being pulled apart. The pain was excruciating, almost unbearable.

Then he was being dragged deeper and deeper into the abyss. He could suddenly see the dark void transform itself and his scenery started to change. Where there was once only darkness, he could see rays of light, and then colour. It looked like the void was finally starting to take shape into a tangible place. It a mere seconds for everything to come together, and the pulling he once felt vanished alongside the pain.

He landed on his butt, his back hitting against a tree. He felt a sharp pain on his lower back and let out a barely audible hiss.

"So much for a smooth landing." He said out loud.

[Apologies, I am still getting used to things.]

The system replied back sounding not so very apologetic.

[You have now arrived at your destination. Welcome to the holy land of Bellyon]

"So in location B, the B stood for Bellyon. How original." He sarcastically said while rolling his eyes.

[My master had very little time when coming up with this place. You'll have to excuse his lack of originality.]

"Right. And who is this master of yours?"

[Unfortunately I cannot relay this information to as you are.]

Hmm, looks like this system is more knowledgable than he originally thought.

He decided not ask more questions and turned to face the scenery before him. He was surrounded by lush green fields. The air was fresh and even though he was still in human form, he could feel the energy around him. He felt weirdly at peace in this place. He closed his eyes, and started to breath in the … energy around him.

The more he took in, the better he felt. He then heard another ding.

[You have successfully arrived to the designated place. Allow the Divine System to sync with its user. The estimated time will take twelve hours.]

Soon after that, Magnus felt a cold sensation take over his body followed by an intense heat.

The more he tried to breath in, the more the weird sensation increased. He started to sweat profusely and felt nauseous. He then started to hear in his mind numbers.

"1 percent, 2 percent, 3 percent and 4 percent."

Once it reached about seven percent, Magnus couldn't take anymore, and felt fatigued. His body started to betray him, and no matter how much he tried to stay awake, it wouldn't listen to him.

He could feel himself slowly loose consciousness.

The last thing he saw was the vague shape of the tree in front of him. He then collapsed to the ground.

When Magnus woke up again, he felt a stabbing pain on his head.

When he lifted his arms to touch the back of his head, he felt soft fabric. Still feeling a little disoriented, Magnus opened his eyes a little wider and slowly started to lift his body up. But this proved to be difficult because they moment he tried to move his muscles, he fell back in what felt like a bed.

A bed?

He looked around him and finally noticed the people surrounding him.

"Who are you people?" He asked, feeling in guard.

The four people surrounding him looked at each other then proceeded to look back at him. There was a moment of silence before one of them spoke up.

"You finally woke up sweetheart." A beautiful woman who looked to be in her early thirties said while choking back tears.

Sweetie? Who is she talking to, because it certainly shouldn't be me.

Magnus gave her a look of confusion and weariness which made the older woman sob even more. One of the other people in the room was a tall young man who bared a resemblance to the woman put a hand on her shoulder in an attempt to comfort her.

Magnus glanced at the man and his body immediately went on high alert.

The energy coming from this man was strong and he could sense right away that this was no ordinary person. The young man sensing that Magnus was on guard turned to him and gave him a reassuring smile.

"Don't worry Alastor you are safe now. No one will ever hurt you." He said softly.

"Huh? Who in the world is Alastor?" Magnus replied back, his frown growing even deeper.

This seemingly shocking revelation shook every person in the room. The air was now tense and the older woman's sobs were even louder now. The young man let go of the woman and slowly approached the bed he was lying in.

"Alastor, do you not know who you are?" He asked with caution.

"No, I just woke up suddenly and now I'm surrounded by people I don't know. Who is this Alastor person you keep referring to? My name is Magnus!" He exclaimed.

"Do you not remember what happened to you?" The young man asked again.

This question made him frown.

He pondered for what seemed like forever, but the more he thought about it, the more confused he felt. He couldn't remember a single thing. Not what happened to him, how he got here or who he was.

All he remembered was his name.

Seeing that he hadn't answered, the young man quickly called on someone and requested that a doctor come right away.

Before the doctor could even arrive, fatigue took over Magnus' body once again and he fell asleep.

Yayy! New characters are being introduced!

I don't know about you guys, but its always exciting as a writer to come up with new characters. It gives us a chance to experiment and play a little. But these characters will be vital to the story so please pay close attention.
