Masochist | Tessa's Worries

I took a deep breath calming myself first before moving forward.

Even thought I have already grew accustomed to extreme levels of pain the mere notion of inflicting self harm to myself still weighs heavy in my mind.

Just to be clear I'm not a masochist.

This is a necessary procedure for me to reach greater heights.

Kai started by slowly converting the gathered energies in the surroundings into molten lava.

Just the thought of submerging a part of his body to the lava gave him the chills and he is planning to do it with his whole body.

Unfortunately, it is a must.

No one forced him to do this, it was his own idea so he cant really put a blame to someone else.

He stood back up and started slowly mixing both water and lava to create obsidian.

(A/N – I don't know the how entire process works I just got the idea from Minecraft.)

He then reshaped the obsidian turning it into a bathtub.

Following the trend instead of water what he put inside the tub was lava.

MOLTEN LAVA.

/Gulp/

Kai hesitated.

Extending his hand, he could feel the terrifying heat emanating from the molten lava.

Letting out a sigh Kai took his first step to the tub and a pained grown escape his mouth.

He immediately felt the intense pain and burning of his skin, flesh and bones

Gritting his teeth he pushed forward.

Slowly dripping his foot to his legs until it reached his waist and chest.

Thanks to his [Undying Body] he is not dying.

He didn't dare to back down now knowing full well how painful it is to repeat the same process if he were to back off now.

Closing his eyes he continued.

Moments later…

His entire body finally fully sank on the lava tub and once there he did not waste a single second as he began gathering all the present energies gathered and contained in the room.

He started by converting all the energy he had gathered into usable energy to avoid being poisoned.

He then moved on the condensing process of the converted pure energies turning it into a small marble size sphere, as it then slowly entered his body.

The moment it entered his body, his energy circuits and bodily veins made way as the newly created energy core/energy heart positioned itself at the center of his liver.

Simultaneously, his energy circuits and physical bodily veins wrapped themselves to his newly created energy heart/energy core as these two veins received the nourishment and energy of the energy heart/energy core.

Kai can feel it even though he is put in extreme pain.

He felt the surge of energy coming from his newly created energy heart/energy core nourishing and boosting both his physical and spiritual body greatly.

He already received the same effect from his energy circuits an additional one is welcome.

His resource recovery speed increases greatly.

His magical power and elemental affinity was boosted greatly.

His connection with all the natural energies around him increases greatly.

His resistance against magical attacks and other mystical phenomenal powers increases greatly.

Manipulating the natural energies around him is far easier than before.

Previously he is like a bicycle riding using the thing without holding a handle now he firmly held on the handle.

The difference is like heaven and earth.

Lastly is a permanent 10% boost in all of his stats.

Finally done with the prologue its time for the main event.

Kai suppressed the function of his [Undying Body] except for his heart and the brain to make sure he won't die.

Losing the effects of his [Undying Body] Kai's body began to slowly crumble due to the direct contact with the molten lava.

30 minutes later.

The first sign of cells fighting it's own destruction emerge and as if a chain reaction was triggered his cells began to fight back denying its imminent destruction.

2 Hours later.

Even without the help of the innate trait [Undying Body] Kai's auto regeneration is fast enough to fend off the destruction of his body even for a bit.

His plan is to push the limit of his physical body, energy circuits and newly created energy heart/energy core.

By continuously destroying his own body, suppressing his [Undying Body] the cells of his body will be forced to adapt in the situation to survive.

The cells will be forced to fight back in order to survive.

And thanks to the excess energies lingering throughout his whole body from the construction of both energy circuits and energy heart/energy core the adaptation of the cells is way faster than he initially thought.

The newly created energy heart/energy core will be forced to absorb energy from the surroundings, converting the absorb energy to be usable, purify and condense it to becoming a higher grade, pumping the newly gained energy and distributing the energy to the energy circuits.

The energy circuit will then distribute the circulating energy once again this time to the destroyed parts of the body to push up the regeneration process assisting the cells in their endeavor.

Kai's goal is to enhance the efficiency of his energy heart/energy core by forcing it to work a hundred times harder, the same goes for his energy circuits by forcing it to work 100 times faster.

Lastly is to have another passive regeneration yet this one unlike the [Undying Body] this will not rely on the energy present in the surroundings and his own.

The cells that will survive the trial will develop and evolve to the point that it will have their own auto high speed duplication, regeneration and resistance against foreign forces that dare to destroy the body.

A simple yet maddening plan.

This action of his can only be achieved due to the freshness of both artificial structures within him.

Doing this at a later the difficulty of the process will be astronomically greater and more painful.

He'll be needing to inflict greater or worse self harm compare to just dripping himself into molten lava.

/2 hours later/

Ryuu, Tessa and Chloe was worried Kai haven't left his room for hours already.

Tessa was at the pub eating mama Mia served food.

"Where's your boyfriend?"

Mama Mia asked Tessa.

"…" – Tessa.

"Did he get cold feet."

Smirking, Mama Mia looks upstairs seeing no one descending he looks back to the dejected Tessa.

Someone tapped Tessa on the shoulders, Tessa looked back and questioned.

"…You are…"

"I'm Syr Flova… nice to meet you."

Tessa blankly looks at the girl who introduced herself as Syr Flova.

She was cute, a gentle smile on her face as if to reassure Tessa that she meant no harm.

"Miss elf can I have your name?"

Syr smile amicably, she did not mind Tessa's intense stare.

Tessa was lectured by Kai to be cautious of her surroundings and Tessa felt something coming from Syr.

Yet she disregarded and ignored it returning back to her old self.

"I'm Tessa Evergreen."

As if her dejected mood was nothing but a mask Tessa introduced herself to Syr jovially and with a bright smile on her fairy like face.

'I've almost mistaken her for Ryuu.' – Syr thought.

'The two of them really do look alike as if they were twins.'

"Nice to meet you Tessa, by the way did you have a companion when you entered?"

Tessa's mood plummeted again hearing Syr mentioned Kai.

"Ey, don't be sad, what's wrong?"

"Sir Kai hadn't left his room for hours now. He might have found my presence annoying and irritating just like my brethren back in the forest."

Tessa said accompanied by sniffs from time to time.

"I don't want him to abandoned me, he's the very first person who didn't show a malice or disgust towards me, also unlike the other guys I've meet so far he didn't look me with those perverted gaze."

'More like I'm the one who look at him that way.' – She thought recalling their first meeting where a naked Kai jump out of nowhere to save her.

She could still recall the ginormous dragon that was asleep that time.

She gulps a red blush surfacing on her face.
