"What could have happened? Is she in a meeting? Has she forgotten our date this evening?" Williams said to himself worryingly.

Some minutes later, the knock on the door made Loveth wake up.

She jumped up and checked her phone before she could answer who was at the door.

"What! Twenty minutes past 4! What is wrong with me? Why am I sleeping by this time?" Loveth lamented.

"Cancel another appointment today. They can come tomorrow" Loveth screamed.

"Okay ma! " the secretary replied from the other end.

"Ah! He has been calling me. Let me quickly wash my face and apply a little powder, ' Loveth said to herself as she rushed to the restroom.

Williams was unhappy as he could not get through to Loveth. He thought about trying again and he dialed her number.

Loveth was about to enter her car when Wiliams's call entered.

" Hello! I'm sorry. I'm on my way now. I will meet you in a jiffy" Loveth said and hung up.

Williams heaved a sigh of relief. He adjusted his shirt and sat properly.

Loveth drove out of the company premises and zoomed off.

Williams placed his head on the table expecting Loveth to come.

A few minutes later, he felt a hand tapping him on his shoulder. He raised his head almost immediately.

He was so surprised to see the beautiful figure in front of him. He chuckled.

"Hello pretty! I must commend your dress. You look gorgeous. Please, have your seat" Williams said as he drew the other chair out for her to sit.

"Thank you. You are not looking bad too! I'm so sorry I kept you waiting. I dozed off" Loveth apologized.

"Wow! Does it mean I've made you overwork yourself because of the date? I'm sorry too, I caused it" Williams said with a broad smile.

"Not really! It just happened" Loveth said calmly

"How is your leg? I can see that you are walking properly now" Williams said

Loveth replied to him that she is fine now. They began to talk and laugh happily. It was as if they had known each other for ages. Loveth asked about his likes and dislikes, his hobby, his childhood, and the likes.

Williams was about to reply when he remembered that he had not ordered anything.

"Pardon my manners! What do you want to take?" Williams said

Loveth told him and he called the waitress to bring two plates for them.

Williams answered all the questions Loveth asked him with all sincerity.

It was Loveth's turn to answer her questions. She talked about the good part of her but she didn't mention anything about her bad part.

She thought that if she should mention anything of such, she might lose him.

Williams thought about telling her his mind towards her but he was scared to say it. He first asked if Loveth was engaged, and she nodded negatively in reply.

She also asked him too. Williams smiled and replied to him.

"I'm not engaged but I think I'm not searching again because I've seen one," Williams said with a smile.

"Wow! Congratulations. How is she?" Loveth teased knowing that he was referring to her

"She is very fine. She is even smiling at me" Williams replied.

Loveth did as if she didn't hear what he said. She talked about another thing to cover up.

The waitress brought their meal and they began to eat in silence.

After a while, Williams held her right hand and looked straight into her eyes. His heart began to beat very fast but he summoned the courage to talk.

"From the first day, I set my eyes on you, I've been asking myself which planet this angel came from. I could not find an answer to my question and I thought of asking you. You are always in my heart, and I love you. Please can you give me a chance In your life?" Williams said nervously.

Loveth on the other hand began to shake, she didn't know what to say as she had never felt that way for any man before. She was breathing very fast. She opened her mouth to talk but she couldn't.

"I'm not rushing you, you can give me a reply anytime. I can't hold myself any longer, that is why I spilled it out now. Sorry that it is coming too early" Williams said calmly.

Loveth smiled and continued her food. Williams began to crack jokes for her to be relieved of the shock

Williams and Loveth were so engrossed that they did not know that the time had gone.

Loveth checked her watch and exclaimed

"I have to go now, it's getting late already," Loveth said and stood up.

"You are right, we have to go now," Williams said

They both went out of the restaurant majestically.

Mr. Henry got to the dining room and discovered his daughter was not there.

"Where is my daughter? Is she not eating dinner? Go and call her" Mr. Henry said.

" She is not yet back from work sir. I've checked her in her room" the cook replied.

"What! By this time of the night? My dear, and you didn't call her?" Mr. Henry said, facing his wife.

"I thought she has stopped this attitude, I didn't know that she was pretending" Mrs. Henry replied sadly.

" Don't say that, she has truly changed. Let me call her and know what is going on" Mr. Henry said.

Williams alighted at the junction of his house and waved at Loveth. He stood there till her car was out of sight.

"Oh! I stayed out late today. I hope dad has not come back, if not, it is trouble" Loveth said to herself.

She began to drive at high speed.

Mr. Henry dialed Loveth's number, and it rang but she was not picking up her calls. This made Mr. and Mrs. Henry scared.

"Why is she not picking up her calls? Hope all is well with her" Mrs. Henry asked nobody in particular.

"Calm down! She will soon be here. Maybe she is driving and that is why she is not picking up her calls" Mr. Henry said.

A few minutes later, they heard the horn of the car and rushed to check. They heaved a sigh of relief.

Loveth got out of the car and carried her bag. She walked majestically inside, beaming with a smile.

"I told you she is fine. Maybe she went on a date. Look at how she's beaming with a smile" Mr. Henry told his wife.

"Mum! Dad! Good evening. " Loveth said happily.

She looked at both of them and discovered they looked worried.

She dropped her bag and moved closer to them.

"Dad! Mum! Don't think I went back to how I used to be. I'm a changed person now. I went on a date and we didn't check the time. We were so engrossed in our discussion. That is why I'm just coming now." Loveth explained.

"A date? Yes! I guess as much. I told you yesterday but you didn't want to talk about it" Mrs. Henry said happily.

"When are you bringing him to greet us?" Mr. Henry asked jokingly.

"Mum! Dad! We are still friends" Loveth said and picked up her bag.

"Yes! It started with a friendship with my daughter. But hasn't he asked you to marry him?" Mrs. Henry asked.

"He did today. But I didn't reply yet because I met him just yesterday at an oil and gas company. Loveth explained.

"Oil and gas company? Wow! That is good" Mr. and Mrs. Henry chorused.

"Can't you invite him home? I will like to have some words with him" Mr. Henry said.

"Alright, sir. " Loveth said.

"What is his job in oil and gas?". Mrs . Henry asked.

"He is the manager, " Loveth replied calmly.

"Wow! Good. Go and freshen up and join us for dinner" M.rs Henry said as Loveth went to her room.

Loveth got to her room, dropped her bag, and went to the bathroom to freshen up. She was so happy. She didn't even know that her parents were eager for her to get married not until that day.

She was very happy because she will be getting married to the person she loved.

"I'm lucky! Williams is not only handsome but also intelligent." Loveth said to no one in particular.

She rushed out of the bathroom happily, put on her nightdress, picked up her phone, and rushed to the dining room.

She sat close to her dad, she put her phone on the table in front of her dad.

Just then her phone rang. Everyone looked in that direction. His dad saw Williams displayed on the screen. She was too shy to pick up her call.

"Pick your call now, Williams is calling you". Mr . Henry said jokingly

The phone rang again. Loveth didn't have a choice but to pick up her call.

"Hello!" She said calmly.

"Hello pretty! Hope you are home now?" Williams said from the other end.

"Yes! I'm home now. Thank you for the meal" Loveth said calmly.

Williams was about to talk further when Loveth announced that she was eating and they would talk later.

As she dropped the call, both parents looked at each other and began to laugh.

Loveth was very shy; she quickly ate her food and excuse herself.

Loveth went back to her room and turned on her data to chat with Wiliams. As she turned her data on, a message was posted.

She opened it and read it.

"What! What am I going to do now?" She said, shivering.
