Operation successful

(The dateline for the Nagato events is happening before the dates Ren is having and meeting Ino,)

Inside of an underground lab, where secret operations were being conducted.

A certain red-haired man's eyes opened.

One eye was normal, but the second one wasn't.

It was a metallic purple color filled with circles.

This was Nagato. And he had just woken up after three days of unconsciousness.

As his eyes opened, the surroundings started bleeping, announcing it, and soon footsteps started to echo as his ears twitched.

He was yet to fully regain his consciousness, so the scene he saw wasn't clear, but he could vaguely tell some doctors and nurses had come to check on his form before they had withdrawn once again.

A while later, just when his sight managed to clear and Nagato was focusing his mind, a voice was heard in his ears.

"It seems that it has worked to some extent,"

Nagato turned his head to see Tsunade nearby him.

"Cough"

An attempt at talking had him cough instead, and once it died down, finally he could speak again. After all, he was still tired and was unconscious for three days after the operation was done.

"T-Thank you,"

His first words were a thanks. And that was for a good reason too.

As she had said, the operation had worked to some extent.

"Don't mention it,"

Tsunade waved her hands before asking him again.

A trace of intrigue was visible in her eyes, and Nagato was able to notice so he decided to do as she wished as that was the least he could do to repay her.

"Tell me, can you close your Rinnegan eye?"

Her question was natural, and based on Kakashi who recently got control of his Sharingan.

But after thinking for a bit, Nagato didn't think he could.

As expected, no matter how hard he tried, that eye was stuck.

"It seems the Rinnegan is quite different from the Sharingan,"

"Indeed,"

Nagato nodded at her words and then for a deep sense of curiousness that was pushing at him, he tried to use his abilities.

Before he did, however, he asked with his eyes only, and it seemed as if Tsunade understood as she nodded her head.

"Go ahead,"

Since he was inside of a room indoors, he wasn't about to use something dangerous, but he could use something relatively easy.

He raised his upper body slightly, and then he raised his palm to the desktop directly in front of him, but that was a few meters away.

A rectangular wooden box was on it, and with Nagato's actions, it was pulled to his hand almost instantly.

It was such an easy experiment, but that was exactly what he was trying to do.

For now, Tsunade didn't bother him and let him do his tests.

'Let's see if everything is good before I'll go check on that girl Sakura…' Tsunade had her own thoughts since it seemed like Sakura was pretty down lately.

Back to the Rinnegan mater, and in this way, Nagato kept trying every ability he knew and that wasn't really dangerous enough to destroy the room of his benefactors.

As a result, his main objective, was to gauge if his eye powers had lost their effectiveness or maybe were just lowered in output. Or maybe even remained the same?

He managed to find that out to some extent, but he had to test more later with more effective techniques for sure.

But for now, he found out the effectiveness and output didn't lower.

In fact, he even felt a slight improvement in the speed with which he performed every ability.

'I suppose it's natural since this eye has become mine now,'

This was his logical train of thought.

But it didn't come without a cost.

'It seems having two eyes lowers the consumption a lot,'

Right now, the biggest drawback was the chakra consumption which he felt had increased slightly.

It was still manageable for him for now, but he didn't know about truly consuming techniques.

'At any rate, I don't have to fear using my life force to keep using the Rinnegan anymore…'

He felt like he had definitely lucked out this time.

*Fuah*

He put strength into his body and tried to stand up.

He then looked at Tsunade who was observing him.

"Are you done? Is everything good?"

Her questions were perfunctory.

And Nagato sported a short smile on his face, which was quite rare for him.

"I'm good, thank you and everything is fine now with my eye,"

He reassured her since he had managed to feel that she was really concerned about him.

"Well, as told by grandpa, you can now leave safely and not have to worry about that problem again,"

Tsunade said the words needed and nodded at him before she was about to leave the room leaving him to get dressed after he would remove his hospital clothes.

They had discussed it before and they decided to let Nagato do as he wished.

They weren't going to hold him against his will, even though they'd appreciate him and his power.

But contrary to her thoughts that Nagato would go on his own way, he didn't.

Instead, he called for her to stop.

"Please arrange things for me…"

Tsunade's eyes brightened as she turned to him with expectation.

"That's right, I decided to join you,"

A while later, Tsunade had left Nagato who had gone to further train and get accustomed to his abilities now that he can use them as if they were his and he was born with them.

She first went to announce the news to the Hokage, which was Minato.

After she did that, she was finally able to exhale and go to her room where Sakura was staying with her.

Well, her place had two rooms each for one of them.

She knocked on the door and entered, only to find Sakura's room as usual closed.

*Sigh*

Tsunade wasn't surprised by this behavior.

'To think my disciple/daughter is behaving this way for a man,'

She shook her head as if she was a wise elder.

But in reality.

'Who am I to talk? Aren't I going on a date with him very soon?'

She laughed to herself as she thought of the situation.

But in the case of Sakura, it was because she was deprived of cock. It wasn't something that was hidden from Tsunade and to be honest, she kind of understood where Sakura was coming from.

Even Tsunade was having some trouble lately, always dreaming about that part of Ren.

'Well, let's take a bath first,'

Today had been long for her, and now she had to take some rest before she speaks to Sakura.

A while later, Tsunade cooked some food and then brought it to Sakura's room.

"Hey Sakura, I brought food let's eat together,"

There was a table in her room they can yes.

"Come in,"

When she stepped through the door, she found Sakura staring at the sky in front of her with a bitter smile.

Her eyes moved about as if she was reading something, and Tsunade understood immediately.

"Were you also invited to the chatroom?"

She murmured to herself but when she went to check, she didn't find her.

'This…'

Sakura seemingly managed to find her master's bewildered expression and sighed to herself.

"It's something like a virtual group chat only a few can see, so don't worry about it, also, you most likely will be added to it anyway,"

She explained vaguely, but Tsunade understood slightly.

She just nodded her head and sat at the table.

Sakura joined her later and they started eating and chatting.

Midway through, Tsunade decided to reassure her disciple but Sakura beat her to it.

"Can you speak to Ren for me, master?"

Tsunade chuckled as she heard that.

"I came just to tell you that actually,"

"Leave it to me, Sakura, I can't look at you sulking like this in your room every day,"

At her words, only then did Sakura manage to eat her food with more enthusiasm.

Meanwhile, Tsunade smiled and enjoyed her food also, while thinking about how her date will go with Ren.
