Improvement

Ren's attack as expected didn't do much damage even though he made contact.

That was because the monster was quite fast itself, and it hurriedly covered its head with an ice shield that shattered upon Ren's spear descending on it, but otherwise did no other damage.

'Hm?'

Ren was slightly surprised.

But he didn't let it hold him back as he stepped back up from the tail of the boss monster.

'This tail is quite dangerous,'

As he could see, it was easily the most flexible and most dangerous means of attack for this monster.

It could flick it and instantly land an attack. That is if it wasn't for Ren's massive speed boost.

The tail full of ice spikes rooted onto its flesh pierced through the air towards Ren, and he did a backflip to dodge and then kicked the ground imitating the Soru of one-piece technique which he could easily replicate due to understanding how it was performed and his overwhelming physical advantage.

He successfully dodged the attack and landed a bit of a distance away.

But then he suddenly was alerted and dodged once again in hurry as the tail that had swung in vain suddenly released those huge ice spikes on it that easily exceeded his size.

The spikes launched at his form in seconds, and Ren this time found but he couldn't dodge them all, so he brought his spear to his hand and then started a graceful spear dance as his spear landed on every spike and cut through them easily due to his water+haki+wind+raw power enhancement.

But as he did so and the spikes dissolved into mist, he suddenly found a beam of ice shot right at his form with no time for him to dodge it.

It was to be expected since his observation was too low leveled to be able to pick up someone of this level.

'It seems I need to work on upgrading my skills to the next level soon,' It managed to bring his attention toward this issue at any rate.

As he was thinking…

!!

'This is?'

At that moment, vaguely, Ren felt a different feeling than usual from his recent transformation trait, but as he resolved his mind to dodge it in any way possible, that feeling disappeared.

'I'll think about it later…'

He didn't have time to dwell on it though, as he poured a huge amount of chakra/mana into his spear, and his aura surrounding his form like a clock expanded and made a shield-like energy in front of him to help shield the attack.

His body that was in the white tiger transformation turned black due to the use of armament haki in addition, and as such finally, Ren felt like he would be able to redirect that attack easily.

He wouldn't be stupid to take it to head-on even with all that he did.

*Augh*

Ren used his power the moment the ice beam, which was huge in size and strong enough to freeze the lake he was above, reached the shield he made.

Even as it was made with chakra, it seemed like it could also be frozen, and Ren used the time it bought for him to try and move that beam away, and his hands that were holding the shield up, despite the haki covering them started to get frozen slowly.

'This guy!'

Ren's alertness started increasing.

If he was hit with that attack head-on, maybe then he would have ended up as an ice sculptor.

Ren grunted as he exerted more force and the ice beam that came down on him like the weight of a mountain was then redirected below to the lake with great extraordinary effort.

*Pant*

Ren was left panting there from how much effort he had put in.

His arms to the elbow had already started turning rigid as if under an ice spell.

Ren glared at the monster with fighting intent in his eyes.

'Heh, a worthy opponent finally,'

Ren chuckled internally, and circulated chakra to his limbs, and only then did he start to regain the normal feelings in them.

He reconstructed the spear from earlier and this time he had something else in place for it.

Wind energy surged around the spear forming a sort of like drill to penetrate more, and Ren covered it wholly in haki.

Water energy also surged from his arm and started fluidly flowing around the spear.

Instinctively, the monster turned its eyesight to the spear and how much energy it was emitting now.

But the next thing that happened was Ren blitzing in speed and disappearing from its eyes sight.

Still, even though it couldn't follow Ren with its eyes, its instincts were quite sharp as it covered its eyes with its tail as it swung in front of it to guard and attack Ren at the same time.

*Boom*

A huge part of Ren's body was blasted open as soon as he thrusted his spear into its eye the moment he reached near.

He looked at his chest where the tail had passed through and he saw how it turned to water and reconstructed.

*Grin*

The monster was enraged at his grin and brought its tail back but Ren spun around it, deconstructed the spear that was flung with the tail earlier, and then thrust it this time as the road was clear.

Still, it seemed like it wouldn't work as the spear was caught by an ice attack of the monster, and Ren's hand holding it was frozen in place just a few inches away from penetrating.

But Ren didn't lose his grin.

"You gotta love to have a weapon that can change forms!"

The spear in his hand suddenly enlarged and enlengthened instantly.

And thus, it penetrated through its eye as a result.

*WAAGHGHHHHHHHH*

A sound like a whale crying was heard in turn, and Ren hurriedly unfroze his hand and retreated back.

He was still panting this time, but other than that, he was unharmed.

Unlike the monster now that was down to one eye.

A while later, Ren stepped outside the gate.

Water energy surge around his body carrying with it his medical Jutsu and generally healing chakra belonging to the bijuu inside of him.

All was to help heal the wounds he was suffering from.

They didn't hurt as much nor did they bleed, but undeniably, they were there.

And if he took off his clothes, it would be a horror scene.

Ren had a new understanding of things after this fight.

It had been quite a gruesome fight, and if not for his ability to turn into water, Ren wasn't sure he would ever attempt something like it again.

This monster would absolutely kill anyone else of the same rank, and that skill of Ren was the only reason he won.

After all, even though his speed was higher, it didn't matter when he couldn't dodge attacks due to not being able to sense them.

As a result, he was forced to dodge spontaneously whenever he felt something was off.

And this strategy worked. About 80% of the time.

The rest, well the result of that was visible in his body now.

At any rate, ren decided to… repeat this experience again.

Why you must ask? Even when such things had happened no, yet he still wants to repeat it?

That is because his status had increased.

Of course, that didn't mean he doesn't understand the dangers after all this was Ren, but the rewards both in terms of experience in fighting and physical rewards were huge.

Ren's goal to get stronger and stronger hadn't changed so far.

At any rate, for now, he just took a deep breath and made his way back to his home.

He flew through the sky. As for anyone that would stop him? See who would dare do so to an SSS rank hero.
