Escape pt1

I looked at the notifications briefly as I fled through the door. The goblins that had previously been guarding it had rushed to the side of their chieftain.

[Kinslayer]

You have slain your own kin in cold blood. Creatures of the same race automatically see you as an enemy and will attack you on site. All damage you do against your race is increased by 50%.

[Arcane Assassin]

A once powerful class that had disappeared through the sands of time. The Arcane Assassin is a mixture of the Assassin and Wizard classes, fusing the two together. Arcane assassins receive +1 agility, +1 wisdom, and +1 intelligence on level up. This is not including the +1 intelligence and +1 wisdom from the apprentice wizard subclass.

As I crept through the hallway, I pulled up my status.

When I had found a quiet place to rest, I asked the system what skill points were.

<Skill points are skills to purchase abilities for your class. They can be spent through the class tab in your menu>

After that I spent several minutes looking through the skills in the class tab. There were a lot, and their cost varied from one point to one hundred. I could not help but shake my head at the ridiculously over powered skills that cost so much.

I ended up spending three skill points on a passive skill called [Silent Casting] which allowed me to cast my spells without incantation. I would still break stealth when I cast a spell, but as long as I was not seen I would have no problem entering stealth again. There was a skill that allowed me to cast spells while maintaining stealth, but it cost a total of 25 skill points. Perhaps it was something I should save up for.

With that settled I moved silently throughout the Caves, making my way to the makeshift kitchen the Goblins had thrown together. Inside was a scene that would have given health inspectors a heart attack. The smell of rancid meat was everywhere. On one of the tables I could see a goblin butchering a rather familiar looking Hobgoblin. I shivered at the thought and looked around the kitchen. I could see no sign of the porridge that old pointy hat had blessed me with. I really took that old man for granted.

I did however see a rather large pot of stew; it was filled to the brim with questionable looking meat and liquid. I snuck behind it and took a quick look around to make sure I wasn't being observed. Excitement filled me as I prepared to cast my first ever magic.

I extended my hands as I let my mana flow through my mana core. I thought about the spell as the magic began to manifest. The spell had a cast time of 10 seconds. Sweat dripped down my brow as I felt the magic flow through me.

I was expecting great things from my first spell, but the result was rather anti-climactic as a small glob of clear liquid appeared from my hands before sliding into the stew with a plop. The stew briefly sizzled, but had no other reaction. It looked and smelled exactly as it had before. I would just have to wait to see if it changed.

I had no way to know if the spell had been effective, but seeing how I was still unobserved I decided to cast it again just to be sure. I did not know if casting it twice would change the effect at all, but I figured it would not be detrimental. The spell ended the same way as the first had, and I had now spent a total of 30 mana.

I was feeling a little tired, like I had been exercising at the gym for a couple of hours, but not enough to cause any sort of problem. I once again entered stealth and left the kitchen. My destination was the outside the breeding room. This would be the best location for me to start to escape. After all I had to rescue the human.
