Chapter 8: Hindrances

Months passed by, and the group was in the country of Russia. The first day of being free was never easy for them.

Kai with his groups felt the stigma upon the eyes of other people. Some felt pity for their group, unimportant, and even disgust from them. But Kai just used his middle finger to those bad people and ran when they chased them.

They stole many clothes from the unknown neighborhood, stole foods or sometimes picked foods on trash. Life was hard especially as a kid but they were able to survive because of the powers they got who kept them alive.

Kai as the leader saw the situations of his group. The one who he noticed the most was their youngest member, it was the two girls who were twins and lastly a young boy, they were easy to be scared and cried. However, Lily being the role model and matured even though she had small stature always calmed them.

Aside from that, he listed all the problems he needed to take care of. First, Permanent shelter, second was food, third money and lastly security.

"Haaaaaa, go just sleep. I'll guard you all." Kai sighed and reassured the group to sleep. Then, he threw light materials to the metal jars to keep the fire alive.

They resided in the subway station as their temporary shelter in the winter season. Before, they wore thin patient's clothes and the first thing they did was get thick and warm clothes.

Hnnggkkk! The passing train passed by and a loud noise heard.

"I think we should relocate to another place again, not in this loud subway." He muttered.

"Well at least we're safe, aren't we?" A gentle voice of a boy asked.

"You don't want to sleep, Patrick?" Kai asked as he looked at him.

Patrick Smirnoff, he is 8 years old and the oldest member of the group He knew his age and birthdate before he went to the Orphanage. He was tall, had short length hair, a slender body which had now gained weight.

The most important that the group had is, they gained weight continuously fighting the malnourished body they had. Well, Kai was a good Snatcher, thief and manipulative. Why? He used his pitiful self to win the heart of the aunties and grandma. Then they used the sca-, the clean money to buy food. However, they alarmed the patrols thought they were part of a syndicate group.

But Kai really hated being an actor just to have money but he had no choice, he was tired and sick of eating food from the garbage.

"Maybe tomorrow morning, just a nap will do. Tomorrow, we need to restore our foods, probably we will go to the center to pickpocket." Kai said.

"Could we really survive, Kai?" Patrick asked.

Kai thinks what Patrick said, if he would say yes then it would just hurt his feelings. Everyday survival for them was hard and sometimes Kai did think if they really have a nice life.

"Actually, we can but it's hard. We did escape from the orphanage but we didn't think that the true prison was the world, and us? We are it's prisoners." Kai replied while he threw other materials into the fire.

Patrick just went silent. Even though he's a kid, his experience gives him maturity in his early age.

"Look, Pal. Even though the everyday challenges we went through were hard and fckd up, we shouldn't give up. I think fighting the challenges will make us strong, if you don't fight it and make change, you have no rights to feel regrets in the future. That is why, fight in your own way." Kai smiled and told him.

Patrick nodded and also smiled. They talked for a long time before the rotations ended.

On the next day, they went to the center market place. The place was full of crowded people which is a good place to pickpocket.

But not everyone will do it, only Kai and Shantal do the work. They were able to snatch fast and had precise aim

Shantal was one of the female members of the group. She was a brunette girl whose hair was long and wavy, if Lily was a cute blondy then she was a beauty. When they regained weight, even if not totally healthy, their appearance turned good.

"So, who's our target for today, Kai? Schoolgirl? Late persons in rush hours? MILF or how about a big ugly bastard?" She cheekily giggled.

Kai and Shantal were close, she was mischievous, naughty and really liked to hear gossip.

"Nah, I'm tired being a pitiful boy against MILF. I felt sad and my heart felt pain when I lied to them." Kai said.

"How about Ugly bastards? They were easy to fool you know? Of course, I will watch and defend you against them." Kai added, he grinned but turned serious.

Kai really missed the actions, also killing those fckers. But for now, he needed to handle and survive before he would take the revenge. He realized his members were hindering his progress but he didn't hate it, even though Kai could not wait to take revenge but his family must be first. He just needs to take everything the important matters before he would proceed to his plan.

"Shishishi! I really love to see those bastards sweat and pissed their pants because of nervousness." Shantal grinned.

They walked while talking, "How about Pedophile fuckers? I want to see their oily faces sweat like roasting a pig. hehehe!"

"Big brother, how about him?" Shantal pointed her hands to a big russian man walking down the street while smoking.

He was wearing full sweatpants adidas, he was big, fat and ….you know at least had a face. Shantal and Kai looked to each other and nod then they started their plan.

Shantal walked to him, "Mi-mister, can you give me money to buy food?" She said while her hand was at her lips. She mimicked a poor girl that seemed hungry.

The big guy just shot down an arrow and grinned. "I don't have money but I can give it to you when you follow me in my house."

Kai suddenly sensed the guy was totally a pedophile motherfcker, although they could not have the money because the big wanted to go in his house which he had no plan to give money and only wanted to do bad things.

'No, no, not this fcker.' He made his plan B which was to abort their plan and stop the guy.

Kai ran to him, "YOUUU! WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO WITH MY SISTER? YOU WANTED MY SISTER FOLLOW YOU TO YOUR HOUSE? WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO ABOUT HER!?"

Kai shouted loud to hear his voice which attracted many audiences and helped them.

"Sir? They may look Orphans but thinking something bad about her will put you in prison." A woman suddenly defended them, and many people looked to the guy giving him disgusted looks and tried to call the police.

"Yo-you. I'M NOT!" The big guy decided to leave due to the looks of the people to him. He gritted his teeth and looked at the kids before he continued to walk away.

"Well, we did not expect to totally meet that kind of person." Kai laughed.

"Shishishi, you saw his face, Kai?" Shantal said and giggled.

Kai nodded, they continued their business. They managed to steal a lot of money and wallets which was a good harvest for them.

"Shantal goes with the twins and Lily to buy food, much better if you buy many cans and other preservative foods for the long winter. Here's the money and let Lily handle it, you got that?" Kai said to her all the things she needed to do.

"Hai hai!" Shantal saluted and left him.

"Hmmm, I should probably buy some kitchen equipment. We have many foods stored in our shelter and add today's harvest. Yep, that should do it. I just need Patrick to come with me." He thought while holding his chin.

When he went to his home, Kai called Patrick to come with him to buy kitchen equipment. They need a stove, pan, cutting tools and plates.

They went to the market and bought their needs even though they tried to fool them but Kai just kicked his balls and paid before they left.

Sometimes arguing to unreasonable people just waste your time. That's why Kai didn't have time to argue and just kicked his balls and that's all the end. If the person tried to chase them? Well he can't, think about the power of Kai, the scale of his was the strength of a young adult if he used his power well let's just pray for his balls.

At the same time, Kai just called the unknown energy inside of his body a Power. Well, if someone recognized this phenomenon, Kai would definitely want to hear it.

Back to them, they walked to their shelter while talking. When they reached it, they noticed the girls were not in here. Only the young boy was left in here.

"It's been an hour, they will be here. What happened to them?" Patrick said.

"Klaus, what did you bring? Is there chocolates?" A young boy approached them.

He was Klaus Amir, one of youngest members of the group. He's origin was in the middle region and became an orphan because of the war. He had bushy eyebrows, brown eyes and a cute boy with full baby fats in his cheeks.

"Klaus, did Lily and the girls return here?" Kai asked, he sensed something wrong. Usually they always returned home after they finished the task.

"Sister? No, I thought they were with you. I'm only left here to guard our things." Klaus replied and also sensed something wrong.

'There must be something wrong' he thought.'

"Oh no. Were they kidnapped? No no." Klaus became paranoid and Patrick just calmed him. Then they look to Kai.

"Give me the knife we just bought. Oh also, pick anything that you need to armed with. Lastly, we need to use our powers." Kai told them.

Kai held the cooking knife, it was medium length and sharp. While Patrick picked a frying pan while Klaus also chose knives.

Patrick was a tank for their team, he gained enhanced strength,durability, and endurance. While Klaus gained enhanced eyesight, speed and agility.

"Let's go follow my lead." He commanded.

They went to the center and searched for them. When they didn't see them, Kai used his senses.

He closed and deeply concentrated his hearing senses, he heard many noises.

"That's too much, just give me a discount."

"Hahahahaa"

" Hey bro, are you interested in the panty religion?"

"Ha ha ha, we need to remind brother Kai, sister."

Kai heard many noises that were not important and finally heard a tired voice of a girl.

'Panty religion?' he thought and erased it immediately.

"Follow me." He said and two of his members followed.

They ran and went to many streets and places. They finally saw the twins, Twinny and Kwinny. The wins were cute and small, always sticking to each other.

They saw them running while holding hands and it seemed like they were trying to run from a people.

"Brother Kaiiii, help usss!" Twinny shouted.

Kai saw two big guys behind the girls far away from them and seemed to be trying to chase them.

Kai dashed like a wind, he moved his knife to his back. His eyes were looking at the guys chasing the girl.

He passed the girls and ran to the enemies while holding.

"These kids were fast and this new boy as well."

" Don't worry about the boy, I handle him. You go and chase them."

When it's halfway, Kai took power from his foot and jumped. He used his head like a spear, it was fast.

The guy who wanted to handle Kai was shocked and scared. He didn't know but this boy was like a wolf and he is his prey.

Because of the speed, the guy couldn't follow Kai. Kai spear the man and takedown him by using his shoulder. If someone saw this they would be shocked, a boy just took down a big russian man.

Kai used the opportunity, he took his knife from behind then he stabbed the stomach of the guy.

"AGHHH" The guy felt the pain and horror. His eyes looked at the boy who was grinning, for the first time he felt scared of death.

Kai used strength and slid the knife down and removed the knife from the stomach. Then he stood up and walked to the remaining enemy.

The other guys saw his friend died like that and it was horrible. He wanted to puke when he saw the organs however he suddenly felt scared when he saw Kai slowly approaching him while a bloody knife in his hands.

"Yo-you get away from me. Don't you know my back was a Mafia, you heard it was a Mafia! They were the one who held the place here if you will do something for me, your group will -" He wanted to scare them however.

Bump!

A pan crushed his head, Patrick struck the guy who just talked nonsense.

"Ahhh damn, that's our new frying pan and now it's bent." Kai complained.

"Sorry, It seems that I used too much strength." Patrick replied while scratching his head.

"Well I wanted to hear about this Mafia but no need. By the way, where's Lily and Shantal?" Kai sighed and turned his attention to the twins.

"We were blocked by big guys and one of them a big fat man. They surrounded us and wanted to kidnapped Shantal but when he saw us, not only Shantal but us too. " The twins talking to the Klaus but Twinny replied.

Kai hold his chin. He remembered a big ugly bastard who they make fun of.

"Do you where they went to?" He asked.

The Twins nodded, "Follow us." The group followed them.

They entered to a unknown street, it was gloomy. By the time they entered, they saw many kids, beggars and people who inserting drug to their veins. The people also looked to them a new faces to the street.

"This street is more fucked up that us in the subway." Kai muttered and all of his member agreed. They ran and didn't look to them.

As they passed many people and entered to the inner place of the street. A group of people wearing addidas, and thick clothes holding pipes, planks, bottles and guns in their backs were seen. They were cheering the girls inside fighting a big man, a total giant like a golliath in the flesh.

The girls had a hard time fighting them and nearing to lose their stamina. Then Lily dashed forward and dodge the wide hands of the Golliath. She slide and ran then he threw a kicked to it's balls.

When the giant held his balls and cried, the girls tried to escape. However they were blocked there ways.

"You little shits, you kick my guts. I will rap* you all until your minds and body cannot take it." He slowly stood up.

The crowds cheering to the golliath. Then the giant dashed toward the girls and tackled them.

Shantal and Lily thrown away by the power of the Golliath. They deemed injured, the people cheered loudly. The Golliath waved his hands to shout loudly.

"TAKE THEM BIG GUY!"

"MORE! MORE! MORE!"

The Golliath take a stanced and wanted to dashed again and end the girls. However,

Wsshhh!

There's a kid flying, holding a knife both by his hands went to the direction of the 7'2 feet man.

"AHHHH!" He shouted.

Many of the people who saw a kid jumped too high was shocked, they wanted to warned the big guy.

But, Kai was in the air holding the knife with his two hands and stabbed downward to the head of the big guy and stay there.

Pckkk!

The sound of a pierced flesh heard through, then the Golliath just stood there and felt the itchiness of his head. There was someone on his head and he touched his head and looked to it, he saw blood in his hands. Then the itchiness was gone and he turned freakingly paint, a true pain.

"HAA HA HAAAAA, GE-GET OFF!" The giant went astray and tried to remove the object from his head and a kid swaying in his head hanging to the knife.

Kai removed to his position and let go the knife stuck to the Golliath. The Golliath just shouted in its pain and he touched the knife from his head then he removed it. The Golliath looked to it and more blood was flowing from his head and then he slowly fell to the ground.

Bamm!

The ground shook when he fell down and he died. The crowds went silent at first when they saw the giant fell. One of them approached the giant and checked him. It was the big ugly bastard who checked the Golliath.

The Bastard checked him and looked to Kai, "KILLLLLL HIIIIMMMM!" Then many guys with planks and pipes aggressive attacked towards Kai.

Kai immediately rushed to get the knife from the hands of the Giant, when he held it he looked to the Ugly Bastard and dashed forward to him. He slashed him however the guy miraculously defended using his hand then a big cut formed to it and blood.

Kai moved fast to the girls and defended them.

"We can still defend ourselves, Kai. Go, focus to yourself first." Shantal said.

Kai nodded then he saw Patrick, the twins and Klaus also dashed forward to them while Patrick leading them. Using the frying Pan and his sturdy body against them, the twins also attacked with a good coordination while Klaus, well he just ran and cried but he threw a small knives which bullseye to head of a man then he ran again and cried.

Kai saw the situation of his group turned well then he grinned and strongly held the knife to his hand.

"It's showtime motherfuck*r!" He dashed fast, using the power inside of him coating his whole body to the fullest and lastly he imagined and materialized the sharp edges of his knife like a coating which give more sharpness to it.

Then a dark mini substance covered straight the sharp edge of the knife, if anyone saw it, the edges of the knife has a straight black line but they were busy shouting and went through them.

Kai felt the power up he dashed forward and wanted to kill them fast before he runs out his juice.

He concentrated his senses and the movement of his enemies became slow. Then he dashed forward and gave a right slashed the head of a guy whose in the first line then he crouched slash again to the arms, body, feets, and stomachs.

Then he stopped for a while his deep concentration was now gone, then the movement returned normal. He swang his knife to clean the flowing blood from it.

"Aaahhhhhhhh!"

"It hurtsss!"

"My handsss!"

"My feeetttt it hurtss!"

"MAMAAA!"

His victims was now in the ground, shouting in pain while holding their missing limbs. Well, there's also headless body just sleeping in the ground.

"Wh-who are you!!?"

"Mo-monster!"

Four men was scared in their shits, well this was the first they saw a massacared by just a one kid. They turned their face to Kai. While Kai slowly walked to them and grinning.

"Ahhh, I really love to cut limbs and hear their pains. Hey hey, Misters, since I cut some of their upper body, then can I try to cut your di*ks?" Kai said while his face showing his sadistic face.

"Fu-fcking monster!" All of them really scared, the kid infront of them was not a child but a monster in a human skin.

"Use guns, kill him!" The guy moved his hand to picked the guns behind him.The remaining guys also did the same trying to get their guns.

Kai then noticed what they wanted to do, he knew guns was dangerous because he used it before to kill bad guys. Then he remembered the time when a big dark thing covered his fist to punch the man which resulted to instantly kill him and made a hole in his body.

Then he used HALF of his remaining power, stamina and the power thing inside of his body. He thought if he could use the power half of it then coat it in his knife to kill the 4 infront of him.

He focus his power and chanelled it through his arms and to his fingers, lastly delivered it to his knife.

Kai surprised of what he saw and even the 4 enemies. A dark flame covering the knife, it gives more length to it.

The enemies hurriedly aimed their guns to Kai because of the horror they saw with their eyes.

Kai looked to his knife and close his eyes. He focused his attention to his enemies then he did a stanced which his right hand, if a baseball player swung his bat with both of his hand then Kai swung it only with his right hand.

Then a small black curved shape flew to the 4 guys with guns, it only showed for a second then it's gone.

SHINNGG!

The 4 enemies just standing there while their guns just aiming at him but didn't press the trigger. Suddenly their eyes whose wide open turned upward, then their heads fell on the ground leaving their body standing.

Kai definitely surprised to it and grinned.

"DON'T MOVE YOU MONSTERS! ONE WRONG MOVE I WILL BLOW THIS GIRL'S HEAD!" The ugly bastard held Lily closed to him and used her as a hostage.

Kai didn't notice his friends because he was focused on his enemies, even Patrick, the twins and Klaus as well. Most of the enemies just ran or killed but they did not expect this one.

"Hey bro, Let her go please and we let you live." Patrick walked slowly and tried to calm the guy.

BANG!

The guy shot Patrick to the body, Patrick fell down however he's still alive and stood up again. His body was made to be a tank, even though the bullets is still inside, it didn't affect him that much.

The twins, shantal and Klaus was behind him and used him as their cover or meatshield.

Kai looked to Patrick and felt good that he was still okay.

"W-what are you? Who the fuck are you kids? No! Noo.. You all are monsters came from hell!" The big ugly bastard was way more scared when Patrick is still kicking.

"Heyyy you fatty, if you press that trigger to Lily. I would also do the same to you, I assured you will experience definitely hell." Kai threatened him.

Bang!

"Motherfucker!" Kai evaded the shot by moving his head to the side. It was good that Kai had a good senses to evaded it.

"How about I press the trigger against this girl?" The big fat guy walked back slowly. Then he aimed his gun to the head of Lily.

"AHHH!" Lily shouted in pain.

After he fired the gun, it was stil fresh and hot.

"You really waste my patience fatty," Kai was madly serious when he saw Lily in pain.

"Hahaha, if you want this girl alive then turned back don't go near me." The big guy grinned, he wanted to buy time for the backup.

Then he was stopped by the walls beside of it was a street. Then he wanted to went there, he changed his directions to the street while Lily was in his hands as a hostage.

"Hahahaha you monster lose, when my mens called for backup with guns in their hands you all will be dead." The big guys just laughed at them.

"Shit!" Kai muttered, he decided once this shitshow ends, he would train his self to become strong to protect his friends, no, he wanted to teach his packs to become stronger.

He sensed many footstep coming from them, he hated this situation. He looked to ugly bastard laughing out loud.

BANG!

Then there was a bullet pierced through in from the back of his head. He fell down while Lily escaped from him.

The group could not digest the moments but Kai immediately moved to Lily and looked to the direction of the a black street. It was dark really dark, but Kai didn't sense anything from there but only noticed it when the gun fired.

Then a footstep heard by them slowly walked out from the shadows. They saw a tall man in his late 30s, he was wearing black long coat inside of it was a tuxedo, black pandora hat, then a gun in his hand with a gloves. This man walked out from the shadows while picking a cigarette in his hand to his mouth, then he lit his lighter.

"Why there's a real type grim reaper sought to help us?" Kai suddenly asked. He sensed danger from this man not on his power but to his aura that seems fought many battles and experiences.

The man just inhaled and blows a thick smoke from his mouth.

"There's 30 above peoples coming to this way with high calibers guns, even that tall boy couldn't take it all." He pointed Patrick.

"I don't know who are you kids but you got my attention, if you want to live, come and follow me. But of course if you don't want to, I don't have problem with that suicidal move." He just turned his back and walked again to the dark street.

Kai just looked to them and also looked to him as well. He gritted his teeth and signalled to follow him.

They entered the street following the unknown man.

1 more chapter before the new arc. Oh, sorry if I didn't upload chapter yesterday due to the reasons of school activities. Additionally, I prefer the MC to solo when he had power, the serum was just below the level of Captain America's strength but his packs would be a big help for him soon.
