Chapter 7: Natasha Romanoff and The Packs

A big update for all the previous chapters. All the errors and grammars were now fixed. Thanks for the people who pointed out my mistake, Love y'all.

"Hey kid, are you alright?" The unknown girl approached him worriedly.

Even though Kai was in a stunned state, he was still careful and on his guard. When she tried to approach him and wanted to talk with closely.

Kai immediately moved and rolled behind the table unciously picking anything that seemed like a weapon.

He grabbed and held the things in his hands like a gun which he thought was a weapon.

She stopped her move, she suddenly appeared and was unknown to this kid. She wanted him to calm down first and low his guard but when she watched what he did, she just giggled.

"DON'T MOVE OR I WILL SHOOT YOU!" Kai said and threatened her.

'Even you're beautiful, I cannot trust you' He thought and frowned.

She just surrendered and she held her hands behind her back.

"Calm down kid, I won't hurt you even though your weapon cannot hurt me." She said and giggled.

Kai titled his head and he looked at his hand, he noticed his weapon was just a banana aiming at her. Then he looked again in her direction laughing at him.

"Oh? So.... Do you like bananas?" Kai just felt shy and still asked her.

Kai's question was like a guy who was awkward on his first date. She just laughed at him.

"So, did you just pick up a line for me? You're a sweet kid but you're still young to court a maiden." She teased and asked in a child's way.

"Then, wait for it when I grow up." Kai flatly replied.

Kai didn't know but he was just true to himself. Even the doctor really hates his straightforward words, but he is him.

The room went silent and the laughter of her stopped on what she heard came from him.

"What's your name, Kid?" She diverted their conversations because it was awkward for her. She was joking but didn't expect that this kid in front of her was straightforward. But she believed that he's still a kid and didn't know what he said.

"Kaios but you can call me Kai." Kai flatly replied.

"You?" He added.

"Nath" She stopped for a moment and replied.

"Just Nath?" Kai drowned and asked.

" Nathalie Rushman, how about you? Just Kaios? Any last name, age? Do you remember your former parents?" She continued but she didn't give her real name because when they had an assignment she used her alises everytime.

Nath asked him where he lived because it was an insult to the kids when they lived in an orphanage.

"I don't have any last name and I don't know my parents even my age. We lived here with the other kids like me." Kai said and not even insulted what she said.

Natalia Alianovna Romanoff or Natasha Romanoff felt sad for him. Even though she was a killer and killed many people, she's still 15, Nath could still pity other people like childrens. The World was cruel and the weak innocents would be it's victim.

"OH! I forgot, I need to check them. They might be outside waiting for me." Kai just remembered his companions.

Kai then moved and Natasha followed him. She followed Kai through the hole. When they were outside, Kai felt the coldness of the night. He still wore a patient's gown and also his companions.

"Guys! I'm here, where are you?" Kai shouted to hear his voice.

Then they saw a group of kids appear behind a big tree. It seemed they hid there and waited for him.

"Kai, you're back!"

"Kaios!"

"Kai!"

Then many voices called his name. They were happy even the night was cold then ran up to him and saw another person, a teenage girl behind Kai.

They hugged, jumped and danced like they finally saw their long lost friend.

Nath saw this and suddenly felt joy and happiness. Her emotions were in peace seeing the pure smiles of theirs. However, she just felt sadness after happiness.

'What will happen to their life from now on?' She thought to herself.

Kai noticed her face. He approached her.

"What's wrong Nathalie?" He asked.

Nath wanted to reply but they heard loud sirens far from them. Then, she saw the faces of the other kids, scared and crying.

"W-we need to go now guys." Kai said to his companions. He didn't know what that sounded like but his instincts told him to leave.

"Follow me, now." She said to them and moved.

Kai also followed him, even though he didn't know her too much but he felt she could be trusted. The other kids hesitated first but in the end followed Kai.

The sirens could be heard near to them, It seems going to their place, the Orphanage.

All of them followed Nathasha, even barefooted they continued until they entered the forest and heard explosions.

BOOM!

They were startled and shouted at the explosion and moved fast. After minutes of walking, they saw a house. In the night of winter, the snow falls down to their cheeks and ground. The cold whispered in their body and felt the shivering feelings. It's a sigh of relief when they see the house even if it was abandoned.

The group entered, and Natasha went to the fireplace and torch it. The instantly warm and cozy atmosphere calmed their body. All of the kids stick to each other to feel the heat of their body.

"Hey" Kai went to Natasha who's in the window looking at the outside scenery and checked if they were followed.

"It's you right? The one who starts the explosions and sets me free?" Kai asked. He might look playful, naughty and have a sharp mouth but he was smart. He had a conclusion that she was the one who did it.

"Hmmm, are you happy now that you're free?" She said.

"Who are you? I mean I know your name but why did you do it, what's your purpose to save us? Or…. Doesn't mean you saved me, I would believe your words." Kai seriously asked her and his fierce eyes looked at her.

During the years, he didn't trust anybody, only the kids were enough for him to give his trust.

Natasha felt the aura of Kai, but she just smirked to his intellectual mind. She didn't scare because Natasha encountered many people like him but it was good thing and bad for Kai. She thought Kai experienced many things that he didn't trust people so fast.

" I'm just a passerby vigilante saving kids in their suffering." Natasha quickly replied to her bullshit. Of course, she could not say that she was a spy and tasked to get the serums, only that she saved them because she felt pity for them. Basically, Nath was only the serum but she also saved them.

Nath turned to Kai which she thought he would not believe her bullshits because she knew he was smart. But…

"Ooohhh! Amaaazing!" Kai had stars in his eyes while looking at Natasha.

Natasha took back her words when she saw stars in the eyes of Kai. She just sighed and thought that he was still a kid and easy to fool.

"We should take a rest before we leave. They will definitely track our footsteps through the snows." Natasha said to them.

All of them take a rest. Kai was leaning against the wall while Lily was in his lap sleeping. He then turned his attention to Natasha.

"I know what you're thinking, Even me too don't know where we should go. But I have an idea. Many of them want to live a normal life and have happiness, so it is better for them to have that life. If they follow me, I don't know how to handle that so many. Maybe you already know where they can live peacefully?" Kai thoughtfully asked.

Nathalia was shocked by his analysis, she really thought that Kai was also a genius in his generation.

"How about you? What will you do then?" She didn't answer his questions first but replied.

"I really don't know, I-I wanted to live peacefully but I am different from other kids. You knew we were the results of the experimentation, if we stick together, we can be easily discovered by those people who funded the experiment. But I am confident in my survival.". Kai said.

When Kai found out that there were people who were powerful or had authority funded the experiments, he was scared and angry. He was scared of his companions when they escaped, would the organization let their samples escape? Of course, No! They would be hunted. And Kai was angry because they treated them like a lab rat in their lives. Soon, if Kai has strengths and power he would get his revenge.

"Do you have a point. Yes, I know a place where they can live peacefully but they should live that place for many years before they could go outside. Passing many years would go unnoticed by the organization." She said.

"Thank you very much, Nath. I don't know how to thank you, but someday I will repay it. Also, when I grow up I will court you." Kai said, his feelings were sincere.

But Nath just twitched her eyebrows. "Yeah welcome, Kid." Natasha sighed. She thought that he was a kid. That's all, a kid.

But in the future, she will not know Kai will give him troubles, but it was in the future. (AN: hehe)

"I wanted to be with you however I don't give you more trouble especially you doing some heroic deeds." Kai said and had stars in his eyes.

Natasha once again sighed.

After minutes of rest, Kai and Natasha woke up the kids. They tell them their plans and out of 36 children, 30 of them chose to live peacefully, while the 6 choosed Kai to follow him. They leave the house before the people who search for them will find their location.

After their cautious travel, they stopped. They were in the forest and not far from them was an intersection road.

"There is a bus stop station not far from here that will go to the direction of someone I know. Don't worry, it's a village. Those people I know were in the middle ages who wanted children however they were not blessed. The Wife has a problem on her mind but not abusive, she became crazy when her baby died. The husband was the village leader, a really gentle and good man. I assure you that they will live peacefully and out of the city." Natasha replied to him and explained all the things.

Kai nodded, and looked to the other children. The 6 who followed him were hugging and crying to the other children.

"Kai, we are very thankful and we will not forget you!"

They hugged Kai before going to Natasha. Kai felt happiness and content for the first time in his life after he woke up in his body. Even though he did know how, he didn't think much about it and accepted his whole Identity.

"So, this is goodbye?" Natasha walked and said to him.

"We will meet each other in the future, right? I'm going to court you after all when I grow up." Kai replied and smiled then crossed his hands.

"I don't think so." Natasha said.

She did not know Kai that much, she still liked his attitude and personality even though he doesn't know the meaning of what he said about courtship.

"Why?" Kai didn't understand what she meant.

" I-I don't know, but if destiny makes a way to meet us." Nathalia approached and bent down halfway to reach Kai's height.

"You should do what you said or I will be sad" Nathalia added while pretending to cry and pitiful even adding a childlike voice.

Nathalia is just being playful and making fun at him. She noticed Kai was a cute kid if he was not malnourished if it's not, maybe aunties would love to hold him.

"Don't worry, I will not break my words!" Kai said and saluted without knowing Natasha just making fun of him but Kai thought it was serious.

Natasha patted his head even though his hair was disheveled.

"Let's go, Kids. Follow me." Nathalia said she needed to protect these poor children away from bad guys.

Kai looked far away to the group of people who had just left. He took a deep breath and cleared his mind.

"Kai, what should we do now?" Lily asked, she was one of the kids who followed him.

"We should get clothes first, then food, water and temporary shelter." Kai said and smirked.

Kai was happy now that they earned freedom, even though they had nothing, he believed they could take the challenge. And why so?

He turned his attention to the other kids like him, 4 girls and 2 boys. Kai knew them before because one of them was the one who he fought with during the trials. And what's more important? They earned powers from the serums which were an advantage for their new journey.

Kai smirked. The former lone wolf was now reborn and has his pack. No more lone wolf, but he was now the Alpha.

"LET'S GO!"
