It's the end of the world. Mankind is being driven toward extinction. Creatures of myth and nightmare are appearing, attacking indiscriminately. But man is an adaptable race. To survive, they tap into a hidden potential within themselves - an innate understanding of the laws of magic. As the months pass by, their understanding and control of the powers of myth grows, allowing them to slowly push back. Of course, not all of mankind is capable of tapping into this power. Those who can are named War Mages by the United World Government, and tasked with protecting mankind, as well as driving back these beasts. They are to maintain the balance between man and creature, allowing mankind to once more thrive. This is a tale of one of those War Mages, and her path to stand at the peak of this world.
So far, this book is not bad at all. I think Alexander the great being a mage a little farfetch at first since he is normally depicted to be a smart general instead of a mage, but I dig it. If you like some RPG elements with war politics then you're up for a ride.
Good work in making an apocalypse that has characters with deep levels of emotion, some characters have extreme views on the new norm of what the Apocalypse brings, others try to keep living in the past before... I'm looking forward to what MC will become in this new horrific but existing thrilling adventure. Will he rise to the challenge or whines of the lost.
Everything about the story is great except for the release rate. If the autor could get that down on a solid schedule I think it would have a simaler rise in popularity to the Rainbow Mage novel.

Story is overall great, but the professions are quite confusing to understand. I don't know if it's just the same profession but different name. What's the difference between War Mage, Mage Knight and Battle Mage?
