Writing style is superb, subtle and rich. It helps a lot in the unfolding of the plot and it matches the time frame/setting of the novel which is, i believe, early on in history. Since it's a first person perspective, the character design depends highly on the thinking process and a little conversational incidents of the tree. I believe, the tone and emotions were well-represented so far. It's a bit melancholic. The undertone adds up to the flavor of the plot as well, partnered with the little bits of memories the tree had in his previous life. My interest is quite piqued, with questions like, <spoiler alert>'Why can the girl hear the tree?' and 'How did he become a tree?' and 'Who was behind his death in previous life?' and 'Will he learn what happened to him in his previous life, and will it still matter considering the fact that he has become a tree for 400 years already?' and 'What will happen now that he isnt really a tree anymore but something else ?'<spoiler alert> Will certainly follow this story and recommending it as well.
