The author does a wonderful job of weaving this rivalry with 2 love stories, and the role these two fashion icons played in WWII. I have read the story of Coco Chanel but knew little of Elsa Schiaparelli. This book led me to read more about Elsa and her clothing designs. If you are a fan of historical fiction and fashion, this is a must read book!

I like the novel, but the numbers irritate me. Apparently an "elite" 3-4% of people are able to pilot war mechs. I'd like to point out that this is an astronomical number, a number high enough to fill the ranks of entire armies. Even WWII had only a 12% enlistment-population ratio. I'll hold off on bashing logic tho.

everything is great about this novel, the og story, and development of characters and plot, however, I do have one question for the author AS of C42, I am questioning @Chaos_Overseer 's plot... 1) will MC's actions change the future, or will MC be teleported to a parallel timeline, or will time freeze until MC is teleported back to WWII... 2) as of MC's actions on WWII... would his next travels through time and space continuum be set in the future (either with WWII info changed, or not) -or- would MC be teleported back to WWI or earlier? 3 a. if forward how will his actions play in the future, would MC remember his organization/ MC retain his look after going forward in time... or back to his previous nontramaticfied body... but still have the memories of his actions in changed WWII 3 b. if backwards, would his actions affect his previous history changes on WWII, for example if MC had time traveled further back, to WWI per say, and turned some battle events into some other sides victory, and killed some important people who would play a important role in WWII, would his WWII timeline that he has changed be affected by his actions, or would another parallel timeline appear, and separate WWI and WWII's timelines? can the author help clarify?

The author has done a brilliant job of blending the gritty, muddy aesthetic of WWII with high-concept sci-fi. The "Schloss Klessheim" arc felt like a classic war movie, but by the time we reached Neu-Berlin in Chapter 25, the genre shifted into something closer to BioShock or Cyberpunk. The idea of Arnim Zola trying to build a digital hive-mind in 1944 is terrifying and fits perfectly with the "Hydra" ethos.
