first thing : I enjoy this novel the reasons : - the MC s poised, he keeps his calm even when he is insulted, as he needs to protect his family, so far he's the only that's really done that in what I've read, at the same time he doesn't let weaker people step on him when it shouldn't happen - the MC is not a complete cheat like existence like it often happens, there is a system but everyone has access to it. so far there's only one time during which it can be said there's plot armor (the stone) - In the "cultivation world" there cannot be the intervention of someone overwhelmingly stronger as they go to other areas after becomming strong enough and they can't come back, I think it is great for the stability of the novel, and it enshures there won't be a ridiculous jump in strength coming from nowhere for the MC - the world building has started in the 70ish chapters, so don't worry about it, in any case the novel is likely to have more than 600 chapters (or so I think - in any case it does have a great potential in terms of number of chapters) the last point leads to me criticizing the haters : how THE HELL can you criticize a novel on its world building when you've only read as few as 10-20-30 chapters ???!? are you for real ?! I mean, seriously all the novels I've read on Qidian so far are bound to have hundreds if not more than a thousand chapters, just give the novels a chance to grow and set a foundation for the characters before the world, you are just being ridiculous otherwise, it's like relying on first impression to categorize people, it's nonsensical Thanks for reading me :)

actually as I had forgotten it was written in the synopsis, that black beetle soul is the only time when we can really feel a strong plot armor, the other times there can be some but he has to struggle for it, it doesn't just fall from the sky

I haven't read the novel, but to answer your question if after 10-30 chapters a novel fails to hook a reader, then yes it is crappy world-building. Saying something gets really good at the end (like MGA might) doesn't justify a crappy beginning.

Your answer made me think a lot, but I think one needs to give the authors those 30 chapters (except if it really is crap), personnaly I don't like MGA at all so there's no way I would base my reasonning on it, but ISSTH isn't that good at the start, it takes those 30 chapters before it really becomes catching, and overall, the first book (more than 90 chapters) isn't that great, against the gods is also ridiculous at the start, there needs to be a base to set up a world that's really good In the case of super god gene, it is peculiar, because each time the MC will be ascending to another sanctuary, he'll fall from the top of the food chain to the very end, which is bound to slow the pace, this style of writing is the most dangerous and the easiest for the authors to slip, by the essence the story needs to be slow to set up something interesting for the readers. But I can also say as i'm reading the raws that he author fails to create something really good, the novel overall could be given around 3 stars to 3 and 1/2, it is good story with some fun times some action and some interesting parts, but the plot is slow as hell and only gives bits and pieces of the story occasionaly My point in this answer is that one should give a few chapters to authors, as the style of a novel is bound to change in those first few chapters, an author isn't perfect. And it's not like SGG is so bad at the start either

For ISSTH, I actually think it was quite good at the beginning. We didn't have cool action like we do later, but Er Gen used great comedy to hook us. Against the Gods hooked readers with Yun Che's pitiable situation, likable characters, and goal to work towards before it fell to the gutter. MGA as well, Chu Feng had a funny dynamic with one of the early characters, and his background was quite interesting. It made it interesting, until the author started showing some of the nasty qualities so many people hated. They all had something that hooked readers, even if they faded away. True Martial World hooked me so strongly with the quietness of its initial training arc, that I'm still reading it on patreon a thousand chapters later. A review from 1 chapter might be less meaningful than one from let's say 50 chapters in, but you have to respect that at any point a reviewer could feel strongly enough to make their review, no matter how few chapters they've read.

Most of them did not hate the novel, they hate because of the paywall that is why they rate so low. The novel is good.

Japanese novel, the MC is a puss* coward he didn't even have a backbone to retaliate when his insulted so tell me what makes this story so great?.

The world is advance where a slightly rich friend can have a personnel jet that can be land in front of people courtyard without any freaking rule to disallow that I mean what if the jet malfunction and hit the building , people can die from any random explosion just because the stupid decision human can make (at least explain that the jet is automatic or have set pattern of air highway since it's the future ) the author don't even describe how futuristic the world is like how the gadget and tool efficiency .Now the current story is just a forced Xianxia in a Sci-fi world which is F*cking terrible with no story development about how normal civilian is given right to even go to the *mysterious space called God’s Sanctuary, where lived numerous unknown creatures. Here, humans will make the greatest leap in their evolution to create the most glorious epoch in history* quote from the synopsis , IT'S JUST A NEW DIMENSION OR A POCKET REALM ,THE STORY DON'T EVEN TELL YOU HOW DO THEY EVEN KNOW IT'S A SPACE AND NOT TELEPORT SOMEWHERE ELSE. THERE ARE NO SCIENTIST AT ALL JUST FORCED XIANXIA IN THE FUTURE WHERE TECHNOLOGY IS USELESS INSIDE THE SPACE AND SUDDENLY ALL PEOPLE DON'T CARE ABOUT OTHER DYING BECAUSE OF STRONG MONSTER AS IF IT'S A GAME .OH WAIT IT IS HALF A GAME BECAUSE THE UNWORKING TECHNOLOGY SUDDENLY BECAME A SYSTEM THAT CAN MEASURE EVERY UNIT OF GENE AS STAT THAT IMPROVE YOUR MARTIAL ART'S POWER (GENE DON'T WORK LIKE THAT AND GENE DOESN'T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH SOUL SO THAT MIRACLE LIKE A BEAST SLAIN SUDDENLY CAN GIVE YOU ARMOR WITHOUT EXPENDING ANY ENERGY FROM ANYWHERE JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE LUCKY ARE STUPID!) The character literally don't have fear in this world as if everyone just got out of world war 7 and don't care people died by them or to be precised just next to them ,until the author find it convenient to make them scared or traumatised(oh my just like it's normal to see someone dies in battle again'st raid boss note:RPG) there are no real true professional for hire that can be find here like mercenary , assassin/bounty hunter , SOLDIEEEEERRRRR that is send there to investigate but college people who just learn a little bit of martial art is send there as if every government want it's people to live past 500 years for no cost and everyone can teleport in and out within a convenient room for everyone each , the teleport room have no cost and tax doesn't exist in this world. I'M DONE

The most ferocious and heated mecha adventure around is finally here! TL Note: This is a novel about doing the impossible, seeing the invisible. Follow along for a ride across the universe! TL;DR: Not Shakespeare, not complex, but fun and easy to read. Come support! As the translator, I've enjoyed translating this novel and I hope to bring the essence of what the author has tried to portray into the chapters you will read. To sum it up in 3 words: Mechs! Explosions! Science! To be perfectly honest, this novel is about your typically overpowered protagonist who does get looked down from time to time but always overcomes the odds with his own special power. He's abit more mature having grown up on his own and just a littttttttle bit dense. Although it always ends up with him winning, it always happens in an interesting (subjective) and fun way that makes me enjoy reading this. The novel has elements of lighthearted comedy from time to time and I do chuckle at how direct the humor is. It's not as smart as say WMW nor does it weave an intricate story much like Ergen's novels. More importantly, its fun and it doesn't try to hide it.

Intergalactic conquest with an AI

Rex was just another slave in the corporate machine, a faceless office worker under the shadow of one of the galaxy's powerful megacorps. His life was predictable and dull, an endless cycle of meaningless reports and fluorescent-lit monotony. That was, until that day.... When a new world was discovered on the outskirts of the galaxy, Rex, like countless other low-ranking employees, found himself dragged into a contract clause he’d barely skimmed years ago. The megacorp ordered him and his coworkers to pack their lives into a transport pod and leave for the unexplored planet. Their mission? Establish a colony. Mine resources. Make the company richer. There was no choice, refusing meant ruin. At first, everything seemed manageable. The days were grueling, the nights cold, but progress was steady. The colony was coming to life. Until the excavation team struck something. No one knew what it was at first, a buried hive, a forgotten ecosystem, or something ancient and dangerous. Whatever it was, it unleashed hell. Swarms of enormous, chittering creatures erupted from the ground, their jagged bodies blotting out the sky. The colony fell into chaos. Screams echoed through the air as the bugs tore through everything in their path, walls, machines, and people. Rex barely survived. Bloodied, broken, and pinned beneath the rubble, he should have died there. But in the pitch-black silence of his fading consciousness, a voice spoke to him. Cold. Mechanical. Otherworldly. "Do you wish to live?" When Rex woke, he was no longer the man he’d been. His body was no longer human flesh and bone but something far more alien. His skin shimmered with living metal, his mind infused with the power of Cleo, a mysterious AI from a long-extinct, robotic race known as the Kaelzars. Cleo’s presence pulsed through his thoughts, guiding him and transforming him. He wasn’t just alive. He was reborn. But survival came at a price. Rex was no longer a pawn of the megacorp; he was something more dangerous, something they couldn’t control. As Cleo’s intentions began to reveal themselves, Rex found himself standing on the precipice of war, not just with the bugs but with forces far greater than he could have imagined. This was the beginning of a journey through blood-soaked battlefields and treacherous alliances. Along the way, Rex would encounter allies, brilliant, flawed, and unpredictable, and enemies whose ambitions were as sharp as their blades. These weren’t disposable foes, easily crushed by an overpowered hero. They were cunning, relentless, and human in the most terrifying ways. But then again, in war, who can truly be called a villain?
