The existence of the Boruto series inherrently makes the efforts and results of the Naruto series meaningless by existing. That is one of the most important reasons for why people dislike it. Whether the manga is good or not in its own right is irrelevant. Its existence unmakes the efforts of those who came before. And in a disrespectful, hamfisted manner, too. It is essentially the Naruto version of the Star Wars sequels.
