As the TL said, if you like Tang San or nuanced perspectives in general, this novel won't be enjoyable. Tang San isn't just an antagonist here; he's a pure villain and he acts like it. There's no fairness, necessity, or the like. Wulin's character is also nasty here. He's not the super nice kid that existed in the main story. He's just a lustful antagonist who wants to take the heroine against her will with his dad's forceful hand. Outside of that, it's a power trip story for the MC.

these low level authors do that to reduce the reader's sense of guilt. they think readers will feel guilty if they make them mildly antagonistic or do something bad to a good child unaware that the readers prefer to enjoy that or at least i do.

The Tang Wulin in canon has different experience than this fanfic's Wulin, so it's not surprising he is darker compared to canon. Not to mention the canon Wulin has a smooth ride, so it is no wonder he maintained his naivety and innocence.

There's a difference between a tougher version of a main character and the vile excuse of a human being that's laid out in this story.

??? Losing to someone won't always results in tougher MC. That kind of thinking only exists in shounen-like manga 😂 Also, the canon is narrated from Wulin's perspective, so ofc it would never look as vile as when it was narrated from another's perspective. It's similar to Naruto's view that never look Hiruzen as vile.

the tang wulin in the novel and the tang wulin here are two different people with different experiences, its called a fanfic for a reason man so stop being hell bent on things staying the exact same, people change in response to their surrounding so this is to be expected (its like a what if naruto knew or experience this scenario).

Overall, I really like it, so I decided to review it to help the ratings a bit, it deserves more popularity. The story is fun, the magic system is cool and powerful without being absurd; it's a bit vague but still cool. I also enjoy stories that slap Tang San, the micromanaging psychopath, so this is a plus too. Writing Quality: it's pretty good. It's a translation of course, so you can't expect masterpieces, but it's perfectly understandable with little to no mistakes. My only complaint is that chapters are a bit short, but it's not the translator's fault. Stability of Updates: it seems like 2 chapters daily, at the time of writing this, which is a good update frequency. Story Development: It's interesting, follows roughly the main plot points of DD3, but that's to be expected. MC snatches Tang Wulin's opportunities and has some of his own, and I like the direction where the story is going. Character Design: MC is rather boring at the start, and he feels like an old man. But while he doesn't like to fight, he has plenty of spine and is decisive. The storytime, when he takes advantage of his metaknowledge, is fun whenever it happens, and his teatime habit is fun too. I also really like his relationship with the female lead, they are equal partners and good friends, and while they are a couple now, and they're close, I wish there was some more romance there though. I was hoping for more sweetness, you know? The canon characters are accurate enough, and don't seem 2-dimensional. You end up caring for the protagonist's team. The antagonists also are proper characters, even if there isn't that much tension, since you know MC is going to win somehow. But that's good too. World Background: It's Douluo Dalu 3 fanfiction, there's not much place for error if you follow the story. Whatever changes from the plot make sense when you count them as butterflies set forth by MC.

The Beauty's Hidden Beast

In a twist that not even Yaya could have predicted, she's suddenly smack in the middle of Nivi's latest obsession: a world brimming with beast-men. No, not just your average hairy dudes, but handsome men with actual animal features. Determined to navigate this bizarre reality with her sanity intact, Yaya hatches a plan as pragmatic as her wardrobe: rehome these too-good-to-be-true "book husbands" to the one person who's always dreamed of such romances─Nivi─her best friend. !!! TRIGGER WARNINGS !!! 1. Yaya and Her Males: The relationship between Yaya and her future males will be far from an idyllic love story. Instead of healing each other wounds, they might just be opening new ones. It will get better along the way, I think... I hope. I'm here to present you a story, not a lecture on how to be a decent human. Feel free to criticize and judge my characters, whether in your mind or through the comments. If you spread awareness in my stead, that would be even more awesome, hehe. 2. Yaya vs. BQQ: If you thought BQQ set the bar for treating her males shitty, wait until you meet YY. You'll know what I mean once you dive into this novel. Feel free to form your own opinions about her─whether it's disdain, frustration, or outright disbelief. Defend your biases, embrace your reactions, and let out your inner rage, rawr. 3. Yaya: Her purpose isn't to be relatable. Not for me, not for you, not for anyone. But, feel free to explore her thought pattern and see the world through an entirely different lens. 4. Yaya vs. Nivi: Someone mentioned that Yaya needs Jesus, lol. In Yaya's world, Nivi is her Jesus. Just a small reminder for the readers who will decide to stick to the story: Those of you who keep up with the latest updates actually have the power to control the course of the story. So, instead of waiting for a stockpile, being active as soon as there is an update kind of pays off. It also motivates me to push out a new chapter faster *winks*. A/N: It's a fanfiction based on the "Beauty and the Beast" world.
