"It seems today, where all you see. Is violence in movies and smut on WN.~"(Imagine Family Guys intro) Anyway onto the review. 1-Writing Quality: The story is decently written and with few grammar mistakes but the only thing to actually complain about is the dialogue during Rated +18 scenes which leave something to be desired. [4 Stars Here] 2-Story Development: The story has a plot... I think... Okay messing around aside for a book that was said to have "the right amount of smut" it seems to have more going on in that department than in regards to said plot. My biggest ick with the story development is that when something is happening the author makes the chapter go tunnel vision as in "focus on this, forget the rest". An example would be when Hill shows up there was never awkwardness with Rio after and they live right in front of each other. We've seen that Rio is into him and for a woman that always wanted him in her house now she rarely even shows up but when she does everything is okay between them like she doesn't hear Hill's p0rnstar level moans right across the hall. And remember Reed? He basically just became a plot point due to his death and then poof barely mentioned in solo scenes, there's no reminiscing, no missing, no I'll be more invested in doing the right thing to make you proud or anything like that. [3 Stars Here]. 3-Character Design: If you want to focus on characters think of them as Doujin characters and not Comic/Movie characters, it makes it easier because of how they are more sexually focused even the intelectuals. The MC also couldn't make a Hero name for himself even with already existing Heroine with the same skill set and he's supposed to be smart... the news called him Spider-man and he thought it was genius while in reality it just shifted from Woman to Man... [3 Stars Here] 4-Updating Stability: The update schedule is consistent with few times where it took longer so nothing to complain here. [4 Stars Here] 5-World Background: This has to be the strongest point in the story, the scene setting, location details and all that is good. We already know some locations but the author puts details in them to help our reading. [5 Stars Here] Overall: 3.8 My Opinion: When the author said that the smut would not be the center of the story unlike his other story where they bang almost every chapter I was hyped and it did start out that way... and then we got Hill, the catalyst for smut everytime she shows up, then others start to show up. My main beef is that I started reading this book when it came out and I had accepted that Rio would be the love interest because of how the plot was focused on her and her son, his new job and Reed so it was a safe assumption. But then the author added the Harem tag... Don't get me wrong I don't hate harems as long as they're done right and not "Me want big harem unga bunga". The tag isn't a problem but it's the people and the way the story flows around the subject that irks me. Now a mother who worries about her kid could be a Harem member and I'm pretty sure that no one would be okay with their mother being a side piece or not having a normal relationship where she's a priority because in harems it's more about balance than "favourite girl". Onto other stuff the MC isn't too invested in the heroing like other versions because he doesn't do much of it and while being low-key is great people are getting mugged and dying. I could write a bigger rant about it but I feel like I'd do it better in the comment section in debates with other users. Anyway sorry for the rant and even if only for the smut you should give the story a read, the Spiderman here is decent enough if not a little worse than any freshman spiderman.
