I really want to like this book, like I really do. But its just brain dead. First of all, the gamer system. I have no problem with it I quite like it actually. So nothing wrong there, well its sentient and the author doesn't care about what that means or even tries to say anything about it, mc doesn't even think about it. The powers he gets are sorta unique, or well his class is. Well sorta but not really, semi cultivation type deal. The marvel cinematic timeline (which is what the author said the story was set in) is completely dragged through the mud. By this I mean that the author doesn't know or remember jack about it. The story is set in 2017, which means the ancient one should be dead but the mc contantly talks about wanting to meet her, asgard should be destroyed but from what I've seen in chapter names thats not the case. Shield should be disolved, which it isnt, the avengers should have fractured, didnt happen. Wakanda, the black panther or even vibranium should be known to the past avengers and the ultron crisis should have happend but it is written that way, atleast tony has no clue about any of that. Its a good story, in theory atleast but it feels like dribble. As if the author watched the movies once a couple years back and then though "oh well I know enough about the story from the couple fanfics I have read so I'll just throw something together". I like the writting sure but not only are there plot holes in relation to the universe it is set in, which could be fixed by saying its an au (which should have just been stated), the mc is stupid. Like seriously dumb, its a wonder how he hasn't killed himself due to his stupidity by tripping on a rock or something. He practises magic in the open, like outside next to a school, shoots it in the air. Straight up gives his information and name to S.H.I.E.L.D and doesn't think about it. I would be okay with this if there was no hydra but due to shield still being a thing I have no clue. if shield isnt disolved there should still be hydra and giving them your personal details is just dumb. Plus the writting is cringy, like seriously "call me the gamer" what were you thinking writting that. Like seriously were you high or something? Oh and some parts here and there feels like a cultivation novel, just the character interactions. I can't truly explain it in words, its just vibe it gives off. You know it when you read it Anyway, thats about it. Mediocre book with good potential that is just filled with comically stupid choices on the author and mcs parts.
