this rating is for volume 1 as I really liked how the story developed between the two girls. I haven't purchased volume 2,3,4 as I didn't like the MC decision to just dump everything on what blake said to her. it was the dumbest thing ever done by her and it was so cruel to rachel. i would have purchased volume 2 right away if the story would have stick with two leads. i don't want to spend money on reading about adventures of MC and blake. and a grief bound rachel. honestly i loved the novel but ending of volume 1 disappointed me. if someone has read vol2,3 and 4 and can give a brief synopsis of what happens to rachel, I would appreciate that

A Compelling Novel with Missed Opportunities in Story Development The novel under review, set in a vividly imagined medieval world, presents a gripping storyline and well-developed characters that make for an overall enjoyable reading experience. However, it is not without its flaws. The story development takes an unfortunate turn at the end of the first volume, as pivotal decisions made by the author on behalf of the characters seem to lack coherence and emotional resonance. One such decision involves the treatment of Rachel, a crucial character in the narrative. The choice to abandon her and label her as a monster, as dictated by the author, is not only heart-wrenching but also conflicts with the promise made to her and her father. This betrayal not only shatters Rachel's trust but also seems to be an unnecessary plot device that detracts from the emotional impact of the story. An alternative path that the protagonist could have considered would have been to take Rachel with them when escaping from the clutches of the crown prince. This course of action might have prevented the devastating consequences that followed, such as Rachel losing one of her flower petals and a significant amount of life. Additionally, the choice to betray Rachel has far-reaching implications, as it strains the relationship between two influential families and potentially the imperial family as well. The King might choose to side with Leriana's father, a close friend. This alliance is likely to start a feud with Rachel's father over the broken promise, further intensifying the conflict surrounding their families, which could lead to much bloodshed, as they control half the military of the empire. While the novel's overall quality is commendable, the storyline at the end of the first volume, and subsequently all volumes thereafter, could have benefitted from more thoughtful development by the author. By exploring alternative paths for the characters and maintaining consistency in their actions, the narrative would have been more engaging and emotionally satisfying. Nonetheless, readers who appreciate intricate plotlines and rich character development will still find much to enjoy in this fascinating tale. The novel leaves us questioning the author's choices, but eager to see how the story unfolds in subsequent volumes. Total score 3.4, because all criteria except story development are good. Suggested Revision: A simple solution to address this issue could be to alter the protagonist's actions towards Rachel. Instead of explicitly calling her a monster, the protagonist could choose to leave without saying anything. As a result, the events surrounding the loss of Rachel's flower petal could unfold differently. For instance, Rachel might feel betrayed because the protagonist left without an explanation, or someone else could spread lies about the protagonist's reasons for leaving, leading to a more reasonable portrayal of the protagonist's actions. This adjustment could strengthen the emotional resonance of the story and maintain the protagonist's integrity.

Who should read and pay for this work? Only those who are in ABSOLUTE despair to read completed Yuri novel, despite its poor quality. 1) It is worth saying right away that the author has absolutely no respect for readers. She obviously does not know English, so she writes in her native language and then uses an online translator. This is not a problem in general, many people do it... But author did not even bother to correct the basic pronouns errors. This is not only disrespectful to readers, but also just stupid!!! Many who could potentially buy this just drop it halfway!!! 2) Our heroine, Leriane, is the most hated character in this story (I would even say on the whole webnovell). She's dumb, naive and useless (but everyone loves her). She's the kind of person who doesn't deserve a happy ending. There was a scene in the book when Leriane was being held hostage and the maids wanted to disfigure her face. My reaction: fair, maybe it will teach her something!!! 3) The story could have been more or less Ok if the author had adhered to the spirit of the first volume. Then it seemed that this was a typical Mary Sue story with dense MC and comedic undertone. But then the author decided that she wanted to write a serious story with all sorts of betrayals, hidden villains, visions of the future and so on... But you can't just WANT to write a masterpiece. That requires talent or a hard work... 4) Most of the story we have a one-sided romance. For most of the story, Leriane feels asexual-aromantic and only at the end she begin to be more proactive. If you are one of those who are satisfied with the fact that high-quality mutual yuri will only be at the end, then Ok. But I prefer that the main couple become an official at least in the middle of the story. If not, then there must be at least passion and tension between them. And I'm not talking about smut. But at least something. But alas. Dense asexual-aromantic, remember?

From CEO to Concubine

Yan Zheyun was born and bred to be a winner. His parents were on the Forbes’ List, he was the valedictorian of his graduating class at the top university in the country, and the icing on the cake was being voted ‘school grass’ four years in a row by his peers. And now, at just twenty-five, Yan Zheyun was the proud chairman and CEO of his very own tech company. But what should have been the happiest day of his life turned into the worst when he heard a strange robotic voice while crossing the road for coffee, just because he couldn’t wait for his secretary to return from the photocopying room. [BUG REPORT #193842347: OTHERWORLD SOUL DETECTED. INITIATING DEPORTATION SEQUENCE.] And then he died. In a very boring, very run-of-the-mill car accident. …except maybe he didn’t. The first thing Yan Zheyun thought after he opened his eyes and found himself in a bedroom that looked like the set of one of those inner palace dramas was: Wow, coffee wasn’t worth it. The second thing he thought after he realised he was now in a historical BL novel and had transmigrated into the body of a tragic beauty who was (about to be) used and abused by his multiple lovers was: I must have opened my eyes with the wrong technique, let me try again…nope, still here. Well. F**k. From CEO to lowly slave, Yan Zheyun couldn’t believe his luck. Stuck in a foreign world and surrounded by crazy tops (respectively A.K.A ‘The Childhood Friend’, ‘The General’s Son’, ‘The Crown Prince’, ‘Some Other Prince’, ‘That Creepy Duke’ etc.), Yan Zheyun realised that his one day’s experience as CEO had not prepared him adequately for this new life of misery. But he wasn’t the sort to give up without a fight so…Yan Zheyun resolutely made up his mind to stay away from the terrifying romantic plot line, try and write himself a new political plot line, and while at it, hug some big thighs, curry some favour with the powerful. And in a dynastic monarchy, whose thighs would be a better choice for hugging than the emperor himself? Liu Yao: …This Sovereign permits you to hug other parts too. Pairing: - This-Sovereign-Looks-Stern-But-Is-Secretly-Kind!Emperor Top VS I-Look-Like-A-Rabbit-But-I’m-Secretly-A-Fox!Slave Bottom - NOT harem, entire story is 1v1 Warnings: - This novel deals with some heavy subject matter that arises as a result of slavery and a caste system. I have added trigger warnings where relevant but just a heads up, the scumbags are called scumbags for a reason! Updates: 21:00 GMT+8 Illustrated By: HAZHE

Song of the Gardener of Souls [BL]

Rowan sees beauty in death. The Order he has sworn to obey only sees defilement. As the reviled Caretaker of the Order, Rowan has accepted his role as a dutiful outcast because he believes it is the only way to prove his worth to the man who holds his sisters’ souls as collateral. With his magic and his voice, Rowan can absorb death and transform it, but only in ways the Order deems acceptable to maintain the stability of the reality it claims to protect Order must subdue Disorder. Reality must triumph over illusion. He is tainted and always will be. Rowan has never questioned those lessons, but that changes the night he harvests a crimson soul that is more than human and chooses to keep it a secret. When Rowan’s song transforms that soul into a beautiful and mysterious man he names Wren, he is forced to accept that sometimes duty is a lie and illusion is the only thing you can trust. As the fabric of the Order begins to unwind and a new kind of Disorder takes hold, Rowan will need to choose again, stand with the Order that held him down, or forge a new path with Wren at his side. He may be the only one who can restore balance to the worlds, but only if he can find balance within himself first. ************************************* Updates 3-4 times per week. Note: This story focuses on relationships. I promise an epic romance, lots of swoon-worthy moments, and a healthy amount of fluff. When it does get steamy…you might get burned. Fair warning for explicit content. I don’t shy away from my spice. There are lots of side characters and couples to fall in love with, in addition to the main couple. If you love the idea of found family, you will be happy. This book is set in a non-heteronormative world, so you will see various gender identities/expressions and types of love. ************************************* Excerpt (if you want the full steamy version, you will have to read the book!): Still reeling from the new magic that coursed under his skin and unsure of how to react to the desire that threatened to take control of him, Rowan froze. Wren's hot breath against his mouth sent a jolt of pleasure through his body, and he choked back a groan. A different kind of panic flared in Rowan's chest, burning him as if he were the one on fire. This was what he wanted, what he'd thought about every night since Wren left. But wanting more was one thing. Acting on it was another. He'd spent so much of his life hiding, he didn't know how to do anything else. One corner of Wren's mouth twitched as Rowan pulled away. When he attempted to free himself from Wren's grasp, Wren just hauled him closer. Rowan liked that he didn't have to think about what to do next. His bare chest thudded against Wren's torso, and the heat from Wren's body merged with Rowan's skin, melting him from the inside out. "What did you just do to me?" Wren's deep voice vibrated against Rowan's chest. "The Disorder of your illusion was holding you captive. I…I absorbed it." "Oh? Where did you learn to do that? Have I been gone that long?" Wren's grip loosened slightly on Rowan's wrists as if he was satisfied now that Rowan was practically sitting on top him. Rowan stared at Wren's lips. He opened his mouth to protest, but immediately closed it again. "I know you aren't going to say that I shouldn't touch you." Wren's free hand splayed over the small of Rowan's back. "Not when you started it." Rowan's breath hitched. "No. I'm not going to say that anymore. Not to you." "I thought you were afraid to be touched." Wren's fingers traced a circle over the curve of Rowan's spine as if testing for a reaction. "I know that I'm not afraid of you." Rowan waited for the panic to set in, but all he felt was desire. "With you, I want…" "You want what?" "I want more." Triumph flared in Wren's gaze before he narrowed his eyes. "Really? Then why are you still trying to get away from me?"
